Well...this was interesting! I have never had a Chinese food that was this bad and absolutely inauthentic! I ordered the dinner combo #1 which included chicken chow mein, sweet&sour pork and deep fried prawns for $12.50 plus tax. I have to say that even though it sounds cheap the food is not worth it at all sadly! I called and placed my order and picked it up exactly 20 minutes later (which they quoted)...BUT the food was cold! The chicken stir fry was crap that had absolutely NO flavor! Deep fried prawn? All I got was shrimp that were heavily coated with batter to increase the size!! Sweet and sour pork? Not sure if I even got a pork meat to be honest...so yeah all in all crappy food for which i don't care for even on my worst day! This food is The worst! I really enjoy eating Chinese food. This restaurant has the worst customer service, not only was I told the food would be 1 hour for delivery it took them 10 minutes from the time I hung up to when it was delivered to me. Once I started eating I knew that the food was previously made.my food was stale. I called the restaurant and was talked down to, and they refused to remake a fresh order. This place doesn't care about customers, they ONLY care about money not customer satisfaction. I SAY TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE DONT EAT HEAR. You will be disappointed. The usual Chinese food. The chow mein wasn't crispy which was disappointing, almond chicken was good though, beef was chewy I'm the beef and broccoli and fried rice wasn't worth ordering. I probably won't be giving this place another try. read more

If I could rate zero stars, I would, but the system doesn't accept that! We ordered from this place for the first time in Jan 2011 because they had interac at the door and our usual chinese (Bamboo Palace-the best chinese food in Abby) didn't. At $50 for a dinner for 4, it was the worst, most overpriced chinese food I have ever had. The veggies were mediocre, no flavor, the sweet and sour pork was inedible, and the chicken chow mein tasted spoiled (I suspect old chow mein was mixed with fresh, as some tasted all right and then I would suddenly get a bite that tasted 'off'). Sure enough, 2 out of 3 family members (who ate the chowmein) were sick that night. Most of that dinner went into the garbage. As I had never been so disappointed in ordered food, I made a point of going to the restaurant the next day to speak to the Manager/Owner? (something I have NEVER done in my life!). The man I spoke to told me nothing was wrong with the food, he had cooked it himself, and too bad that we were unhappy. Basically told me to pound sand. When I asked if this was how they usually dealt with an unhappy customer, he said it had never happened before. In the food service industry, this place has apparently NEVER had an unhappy customer. I call BS. Seriously, you have an unhappy customer, deal with it, rather than send them away disgusted... Will NEVER go near this place again!!! Definitely NOT recommended!!! read more

Delicious Authentic Food and Excellent Service This restaurant just changed hands and new owners started in June 2017. Family owned business and owners are friendly with excellent service. I came here with a few friends for lunch on BC Day. Food was authentic and tasted like food served in fancy Chinese restaurants in Vancouver/ Richmond. They will adjust ingredients and ways of cooking to your likes and request. Price is very reasonable. I have gone back three times for take out for my family since then. My son who is not crazy about Chinese food, asked for repeats. We don't have to go all the way to Surrey or Vancouver for "real Chinese food" anymore. read more

This restaurant changed the owner from July 2017 and the new owner is genuine Chinese Seafood chef from Calgary. Highly recommend this place because the food is exactly same quality of Chinese Seafood in Richmond's restaurant. read more

The new owners are VERY DISAPPOINTING! This used to be my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Abbotsford. I ordered from them over 20 years. 18 of those years I lived in the Auguston neighborhood and never had any problem getting delivery. Recently, it's been purchased by new owners and they no longer want to deliver to my neighborhood. They told me that my food would take over two hours to get and that I would have to pay an exorbitant delivery fee. I posted about this in my neighborhood Facebook page and several other people here had a similar experience. My friend who doesn't live in my neighbourhood said she has a big fight with them to get them to deliver food to her house also and when the food eventually came, the order was wrong. Very big turn off. I'm not sure why new owners are in the business of alienating your long-term customers, but I will not be going back to them ever again. They were rude and uncaring. read more

We have ordered take out a few rimes and had no problems. Ordered again today and had an order of ginger beef that was so spicy we could not eat it. Callwd back and did not get good customer service. Went in as well and had poor customer service. I will not be ordering again nor will i recommend to others. read more

New owners are preparing excellent Chinese food. Service is attentive and gracious. The hostess and owner greets everyone with a friendly smile. Favourite dishes include ginger beef hot pot, Szechwan beans and shrimp fried rice. Delicious! read more

I have only ordered delivery so I can't review the service or atmosphere of the restaurant, but they have probably the best Chinese food in town. If you're ordering delivery, be sure to be very clear when telling them your address--some of their delivery folks get easily confused and drive around for a while before calling you for clarification on the directions. read more

I hosted my baby's 30 day milestone dinner at Oriental Village and I was very happy with the food and service that we received. The food here is 100% authentic, as long as you order from the back 3-4 pages of the menu, not the Westernized Chinese Food. We brought in live crabs and lobsters (from Superstore across the street) and had them prepare them the traditional Cantonese way, fried with ginger scallion sauce, and also in a cream sauce over noodles. Both preparations were done perfectly. Other dishes that I really enjoy from here are the deep fried prawns in salted egg yolk sauce, and the cold spicy chicken dish (can't remember the English name). They ask do a great Peking Duck, but you need to pre-order it a day in advance. Prices are a bit higher than what you pay in Richmond for authentic Cantonese food, but being in Abbotsford, I don't mind paying a few dollars in premium to avoid driving an hour just to have a good dinner. We are regulars here now, and guests that I hosted at our dinner now eat here regularly as well. Oriental Village is hands down the best and most authentic Chinese food in Abbotsford, and you will realize this when you dine here and see all the other Chinese customers eating here. read more

I have eat in and take out. Always had a good experience. The pork ribs are excellent, very nice coating. Not fatty at all. No MSG in any of the food. I don't know why anyone has had a bad experience here as every time has been fine for me. The won-ton soup is very good too, a nice broth with meaty noodles. read more

I have been going to the Oriental Village restaurant for many years. My favorite menu items are the vegetable chow mein, steamed rice or fried rice and crisp veggie spring rolls. The food has been good every time. I went there with a friend in July 2015 and we ordered a small steamed rice and veggie chow mein and it was enough to satisfy both of our appetites for around $11. read more
