    the interior of a restaurant

Finally tried this place after hearing a lot of good feedback and they were right. The place was very spacious and very nice interior. The staff especially our server Rozey was very friendly and accommodating. The foods were all tasty and delicious. We feel sad that due to current situation they will only be open for take out and delivery. I highly recommend this place.

Almond chicken (after I cooked it more!), chow mein, chop suey, char siu, ginger beef.  (Dinner D for 4 plus an order of char siu on top)

It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I've been hearing so many raves about this place I had to check it out. I did not enjoy it but I went back a couple months later to give it a second chance. I thought they might have been having an off day since everyone else seems to like it. The second time it was just as bad. (Feb 2019) My first visit I ordered, chow mein, chop suey, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork for take out. The food had zero flavor. It's like they didn't use any sauce, salt, msg, soy sauce or anything at all. The noodles were cooked perfectly. But it was like they cooked them and then did absolutely nothing to them. No sauce, no spice, no flavor. Completely naked bland noodles. So the texture was great. Same with the chop suey. The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. They were nice and crispy. But it tasted like boiled broccoli, cauliflower, celery and mini corn. No sauce, no salt, nothing at all added. I've had worse. Some restaurants make their noodles and veggies all soggy and mushy so I appreciate the crispness. But is it common for restaurants to add nothing to these things? Or maybe they did and I just couldn't taste it at all. It just tasted like water. The almond chicken was flavorless. It literally tasted like flour and water. Again no salt or msg or whatever it is that Chinese restaurants usually add to give it that zing of flavor. The quality of meat in the sweet and sour pork was good. Cooked very well but no flavor again. Is this an msg free restaurant, did they run out of salt, did they forget to add sauce? I've not a fan of salt, I never add it to my food and I often find Chinese food to be heavy on the salty flavor. But I found this food inedible without drowning it in soy sauce which I don't usually do with takeout. (May 2019) Decided to give this another try, maybe they were having a bad day. Ordered the same thing for takeout plus Char Siu and ginger beef. The veggies and noodles had a bit a flavor this time but nothing special. So that's an improvement there. But the almond chicken was so undercooked. It was soggy and completely white. I'm used to almond chicken being slightly browned (almond colour). I had to pull out my deep fryer and wait 20 mins for it to heat up to brown and crisp the chicken for my family. The ginger beef was pretty good. I've give it 8/10. The Char Siu sounded amazing on the menu "slowly oven roasted to perfection" but tasted like a chewy, tough pork chop. We ordered enough for 4 people. Usually all the food is gone with Chinese but most of it was left over. No one in the family was really into it. So overall good quality meat and veggies but poorly executed. You don't get very much for the price and it seems a little high priced. The staff was nice both times I went in for pick up. Very young though and inexperienced. Several of the girls looked about 15 years old. I think it's great that they are offering students in the community their first jobs. Would I recommend this place? I don't know. I know I'm never going there again because I was not impressed. But the rest of the Chinese restaurants in Maple ridge and Mission are awful with soggy mushy food and gnarly meat. So by default it makes this place "the best Chinese in town". I guess I'd say give it a try and decide for yourself. I'll leave you with this, at least it's not horrible....

Woking Dragon feels is an adequate portion size for a $14 dish of Egg Foo Young. Ridiculous! Won't ever go again. Food was greasy too.

This is great Chinese food for the first time in Maple Ridge. This is not your typical MR Chinese restaurant.

Ss pork, chicken chow mien and beef chop suey. We got it home and dished it up. First bite of the chow mien and it was tough. Yeah I have never heard of tough chow mien noodles before. first for everything. I couldn't believe it. So I tried the ss pork and the pork was so chewy I couldn't eat it. Then there was the chow mien. I must admit the veggies were ok but the beef was chewy also. Feeling ripped off again and my hubby complaining about getting a crappy meal again. I called them. Oh how shocked they were... Yeah right. You should know you serve someone not so good food. Ok so she says they will give a ss pork and a chow mien next time so we don't have to take back the food. that day. I said what about the chow mien. :) they didn't want to give us a chow mien because the vegetables were ok. OMG... Just what I want the chow mien eaten with chewy meat on one day and the rest of the dinner on another. I couldn't believe it. As it was I had to be cooking something up for dinner since the food was no good. So I told her I would just pack the whole thing up and my husband will take it back so they can return our money and we just will not bother to try them out any more. Chinese food isn't cheap and then having to throw it out.

Unfortunately I think our search will continue... Most of the dishes are quite small for the price. That would be fine if the quality and flavour were stellar, but they were all quite boring and bland. We had 7 different dishes and only one of them was something that our group commented on being very good. That was the bbq pork fried rice. It was dark and smoky, and full of little bits of pork. Not bad. It was also a much larger portion than everything else. The rest were all more blasé. The saucier options - sting beans with garlic sauce, crispy ginger beef, and sweet and sour pork, were all surprisingly lacking flavour. The fried things are all quite oily too. The almond chicken was dripping with grease. On top of that, I found a long black hair tangled in my chow neon. Given the price, combined with general lacklustre flavour and other issues, it means it's really tough for us to rate this more than a 2 star experience.

Faced with two locations, I picked the newer one for reasons I can't quite explain, and thus began an amazing journey. The spacious parking area was a great start, and as soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a bright, soothing, and clean environment. The Far East vibes were unmistakable, with signs all around confirming I was in a Chinese place. A polite girl greeted us and guided us through the extensive menu, helping us choose the best dishes and combinations. To give some context, Indo-Chinese food originated in Kolkata, Bengal, and evolved as it spread across India, with each region adding its own twist. My favorite is Bangladeshi Chinese, known for its aroma, toned textures, and balanced, soothing sauces and condiments. Although Indo-Chinese variations have diverged from their Bengali-Chinese roots, I was hoping to find something that would closely match my taste preferences. That's when a gentleman named Abrar approached us. To my delight, he was from Kolkata, the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine. He took the time to understand our preferences, crafting recommendations that seemed tailored just for us. He went above and beyond, even deciding how to tweak their original dishes to match our taste buds. We decided to go all out with his suggested combinations. We started with the appetizer, the Spicy chili garlic wings, and they were incredible--thin, yet with the crispiest crust, perfectly balanced with the chili garlic sauce. They were well-marinated with no gaminess, and the juicy inner layer contrasted beautifully with the crunchy exterior. 5/5. The Masala Fish blew us away--it was unforgettable. It wasn't overly spicy; a hint of sweetness brought out the flavors, with a light, airy crunch giving way to melt-in-your-mouth fish. The Crispy Chili Beef was very special. It wasn't dry, with a perfect semi-crisp exterior and juicy interior. Each bite validated how beef should be cooked. The sauce was perfectly balanced, neither too salty nor too sour. The Ginger garlic chicken was stir-fried to perfection, super soft with a soothing gravy, and the perfect blend of oriental sauces. Everything was balanced just right. The vegetable Hakka chowmein were not too oily, and though the noodles were a bit thinner than usual, they complemented every entrée so well it felt like a match made in heaven. Finally, the dessert--Ice cream with fried banana--was an ingenious creation. The warm, crunchy banana paired perfectly with the cold ice cream, creating a delightful ending to the meal. The girl at the reception (sorry, I didn't ask her name) was incredibly cordial, checking in on us several times and even offering complimentary green tea. Abrar also checked in on us a couple of times, providing exceptional service. I noticed him being attentive to every customer, offering nothing short of the best service you can get in a restaurant. I know taste buds vary, and Indo-Chinese palates differ across the subcontinent, but as someone extremely picky about Indo-Chinese food, I feel I had my best Indo-Chinese experience in North America at Dragon Wok. You're in good hands with these experts from the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine.

I'm tempted to come back and try their soup and other things on the menu. Can't wait!

I've never gone this far to Langley just for blackbean noodles while my go to place would be Heeraedeung or Manli Jiangsung. We ordered Family Combo A ($43.95) that's big for 3 people it came with Jjambbong (Spicy seafood noodle), Jajangmyun(Black bean noodles) and Tangsooyuk (Sweet and sour pork). Food was pretty good. We ordered a combo with Tangsooyuk because someone said they make Tangsooyuk better than Kkangpoonggi (spicy fried chicken). Jajangmyun and Jjambbong were excellent. My sister and I found Jjambbong little bit spicy for our liking. I couldn't drink all the soup for this reason. But still their Jjambbong was pretty good in my personal opinion. I also like how Jjambbong had plentiful of seafood toppings especially squids. Tangsooyuk was so fresh and crispy. It came with so much dipping sauce in a separate bowl. We ended up taking some food home without the sauce. I just think there was too much sauce for the deep fried pork. I really enjoyed eating here with my family until this disaster happened. I slipped the bowl of spicy soup from my hands and spilled it onto my jeans. My jeans ended up smelling spicy, haha. Anyways I'd go back here with my family someday.
