When we were served the karage chicken with what appeared to be plain mayo I was seriously doubting my choice. It all changed when the ramen came out. This place is legit. They took the time to master their craft and they pay respect to what a proper bowl of ramen is. We both went for the spicy black garlic tonkatsu with differing spice levels; mild and reaper (+$1). Let's start with that -- typically all you pay for is a glob of chill oil that may or may not be spicy. This was not the case here, it added serious heat without altering the flavor. The black garlic was not burnt. The ramen had depth and umami, but could have been a but more seasoned. Eggs were cooked well and still jammy. If im ever in the area i'd be back.

Overall, the atmosphere is great. You have the option to self-order and the portions are large. Staff was friendly and nonetheless my friend and I had a great time. But unless I'm coming back here with someone who wants to eat here, I don't see myself actively choosing to be back at this spot over other ramen places anytime soon.

I must say, while expectations are low, I was far more impressed than I thought. This place is a bit bigger than neighboring ramen spots, and our server was so interactive, funny and friendly. I like that she actually holds a conversation between me and my friend, in terms of sake recommendations, and being honest on what type of noodles she prefers (I asked her if their straight noodles are good or if I should go for the curly, and she gave me her honest opinion on both, so I went for curly.) She was able to also assist my friend in choosing a better appetizer. I love the bigger variety of drink options, from alcohol to boba milk teas. The curly noodles in the Tonkotsu Ramen was awesome, and the meat's so soft and delicious. My only qualm is that the broth to noodles ratio is a little off; too much broth and it's more watery than other broths I've tasted.
