Always have a great experience here. We stop every year on our way to the lake. Staff is always very friendly and cheerful. Food is always on point. We all enjoyed the scallops, chicken sandwich, Cobb salad, Caesar salad and portobello sandwich. Only complaint is the espresso martini was not good. Nolan's Lakeside Snack Shack Have to give a very poor rating to the Beef on Weck sandwich here. It was overcooked meat, served cold, had a side of horseradish SAUCE, lettuce, was definately NOT a Kimmelweck roll, and not dipped in au jus nor was it served on the side. We enjoyed our dinners at Nolan's, and the portions certainly were big enough for leftovers to support a meal, another day. The steak compares with many big name steakhouses in larger cities and the other dishes seem competent be better too. A bug was found in my friends scallop dinner- they substituted another dinner, but still we were charged for it. I was so disgusted I almost could eat my own dinner! Manager came by to ask how things were going, and she said our waitress didnt tell her of our issue and she'll look into it. She never returned. She ignored us as we left after we finished. No one ever apologized. They just pretended it didnt happen. My pork chop was supposed to be medium well, but it came undercooked. I hate that- especially in pork. Also, it had way too much salt. Festive atmosphere. Already for the Christmas holidays!! I thoroughly enjoyed my Twin Lobster Tails with roasted Brussel Sprouts. Hearty meal. My husband had the NY Strip Steak with the Brussel Sprouts as well. We did add al carte side salads. The salad dressings are all homemade. The avocado ranch was amazing. Nolan's is a beautiful restaurant located next to the Lake House on Canandaigua. We ordered mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables (steamed broccoli) for my almost one year old, lobster ravioli, and the fish and chips. The baby seemed to enjoy his meal and mom approved. My lobster ravioli was AMAZING! The taste was phenomenal, they didn't skimp on the lobster, and it was well worth the price. The fish and chips though.......not so amazing. The fish was nothing special and had very little flavor. The service was hit or miss. Our server was very kind, but he was literally running around trying to manage everything himself. Had a business meeting in Newark and our hotel was on Lake Canadagua. Decided to try this place out on the first night. Note: word of warning, the menu prices online did not match the menu prices at the restaurant. It was much more expensive at the restaurant. Service was good. Very down to earth and our waitress checked on us regularly. Nice lady. It is a bit pricey: Ordered the following items - Seafood chowder and 12 oz Prime Rib with a Coca Cola. Total adds up to $58.32 plus 11 dollar tip = $69.32 for one. Kinda pricey. Quality of food: I have to say that the seafood chowder was absolutely amazing. It was cooked to perfection. And, you can tell, it was cooked from scratch. Likewise, I cannot complain about the Prime Rib. It was excellent. We just had an amazing dinner at Nolan's this evening, everything was perfect, my daughter and I loved our Chicken French, it was great! For a drink I usually have wine but felt like having something a little different so I asked for an Italian martini. It wasn't on the menu but the waitress took the time to find out from me what goes into making one and she had the bartender make it for me! Came to Canandaigua to see a concert at CMAC and stopped here for dinner before. We had a great experience! The service and food were both great. We started with the stuffed mushrooms (forgot to take a pic!). The sauce on them was fantastic...would definitely order again. My sister got the chicken Marsala, my mom got a steak and I got the muffuletta sandwich special. The chicken dish was huge and there were so many mushrooms. My mom enjoyed her steak, but her baked potato was not cooked enough and was kind of cold. Our only complaint of the night. My sandwich was piled with meat and the olive spread was excellent. We would come back in a heartbeat. The location was super convenient to our hotel and the concert venue. It's not quite 'on the lake' as their website says though. You can get a glimpse of the lake from the back parking lot. So, don't expect to be eating on the water if you dine here. read more

The husband and I had an impromptu, early dinner tonite, our first time at the new Nolan's. We were impressed. Our server, Patrick, was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The complimentary little bread rolls and butter were unique and tasty . Our apps, bacon-wrapped scallops and cheesy garlic bread were both fabulous. Our dinners : him blackened fish fry and mine, the lobster roll ( full of luscious real lobster on a crunchy roll ) were exceptional. The side of basil butter corn ( served fresh off the cob) was a pleasant surprise. Next time, and there will be many, we will save room for dessert . Suggested by Trip Advisor and others. I had the broiled seafood combo. The entire plate was swimming in water (not a sauce). Despite this, the medium size shrimp was dry and flavorless, the 2 1/2 very small scallops were served in a sea scallop shell that made me wish for the scallop that might have been in this large shell, the fish fillet was hot and pretty good. My sides were smashed potatoes, which might moonlight as grout and fresh asparagus which was excellent. Credit for saving the meal, asparagus! Spouse had similar underwhelming plate. Heard several diners complain about steaks not cooked as ordered and waitress unwilling to redo. Nice looking place inside and out and seems very popular, but don't know why. read more

My husband and I stopped in this restaurant looking to have drinks and share a simple dessert at the bar. To our surprise, it was an amazing find. Especially, since we are just visiting the area while on vacation. We ordered drinks and shared the most amazing creme brûlée that was prepared in a chocolate shell with chocolate sauce drizzled on top. Had a lovely meal here while in town of pasta, clams, and shrimp. Sat in a roomy booth and luckily had reservations as it was a holiday weekend. We asked about bread as our waiter didn't bring and was then given ample bread w butter, oil, and balsamic which hot and delicious. ( love homemade fresh bread!). No drinks and bill was about $70. I ate at Nolan's for the first time and omg it was very good. The place was very nice, and clean. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very friendly. I ordered the Filet Mignon with a loaded baked potato and lobster tail. The filet was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The baked potato had real bacon on it not bacon bits which was great. They put my butter and sour cream on the side, which was nice so I can decide how much I want on it. The lobster tail was good size and very tasty. It came with a side of melted butter. The manager Debbie was very nice. Before we even noticed, she explained that one of our meals went to another table so she was having the chef remake all our entrees. She offered us each a complimentary drink or dessert. We all felt this was very generous and showed how much this business cared about their customers. I chose the carrot cake. It was very good. The water view is a smidgen of lake you can see between whatever buildings you're looking at and that's only if you're on patio. As for food, we had the soup. De jour( asparagus/bacon & the seafood chowder. Both are good. Appetizers of. Meatballs and special fried green tomatoes. caprese. Too much cheese on tomatoes but the sauce was good. Meatballs were very good. Desert of creme brulee in chocolate shell was the best part of meal. Cocktails were made well, and service was good. It was busy for a Wednesday. Reservations a must. The salmon pomodoro, evening special, seared salmon finished in a sun dried tomato chorizo blush sauce, was amazing! The sweet potato fries complimented this salmon dish. We have been to Nolan's a couple times now since moving to Canandaigua. First visit would lead to an order of the entree sized Cobb salad with choice of extra protein, chicken, shrimp or steak. The sale was massive and the taste matched! Yum! I did oil and vinegar but of course there was an array of dressings to suit any taste! Second visit led to the Filet Mignon with garlic smashed potatoes! The filet literally melted in my mouth! So tender and delicious! Service was excellent! The one thing I would do differently is to add a seasonal veggie with the entree, Asparagus or similar. Presentation was not that great with a slab of meat and plop of potatoes on the plate. Something to consider as presentation of costly food in a beautiful atmosphere will be remembered. When I say costly, I mean because the market price of excellent cuts of beef and seafood is always going to be more expensive. Overall the menu is very reasonable and if you don't leave full, congrats or I'm sorry. You can walk along the lakefront or into the park to aid in digestion when the weather permits . read more

I haven't been here since they moved to South Main Street...I have been to Nolan's on lakeshore a few times, but not since 2013. My brother was a cook for a few yrs around 2005. Every time that I've been here I enjoyed the food and the service. Everyone I've talked to that eats there likes it. The last time I was there in 2013 was for a baby shower. We were in a party room, which was nice clean. The staff was friendly. We were taken very well care of. I don't know if they have a room at their new location on S. Main St. I would've recommended it 10 years ago but I haven't been there recently, so I'm not sure, how well the food and service is now. Although, every time I drive by, the parking lot is packed, so I'm guessing it is just as good as it was 10 years ago. read more
