Have enjoyed Peppers several times. The menu is amazing with many options although a little pricey. I've always enjoyed the food I've ordered. On a previous visit we were seated in a quiet booth and the waiter Mark was awesome in helping my partner negotiate a food allergy for cilantro. On my most recent visit, we had to request bring reseated as the woman in the next booth was having a loud, obnoxious phone call for everyone in the neighborhood to overhear. The ambiance is upscale diner- comfort depends on where you may be seated. Will definitely go again- I hope I can find the quiet & enjoyable spot to have my dinner. read more

After just arriving from our trip we found Peppers located not far from our hotel by the lake. Our waitress took good care of us. All of our dishes had good sized portions. Two of us had the pot roast which was very good along with mashed potatoes. The meat was tender and reminded us of a home cooked meal. read more

I visited the location on 26 th street in NY. I was not greeted , the woman just looked at me for a few. minutes then asked what is my order . I told her she rang it up and then said 24, i was rushing to get back to my job I gave her 24 but actually it was 21.48. I asked her again she gave me change like a dollar in change . I guess she added her own tip? I did not feel welcomed or heard . I was the e only latin person in the restaurant . No one looked happy there . A man. and from the back almost 40 minutes later ( my whole lunch break time almost) and asked her what did i order and asked if i paid she did not give me a receipt and she didn't answered i said yes i just paid you . she told him i didn't know . But, as we walked with the staff to a table we were bouncing along from the spongy floor; then, while there are about 12 booths and as many tables half were empty the staff of course had to sit us right next to a group of 10, where my wife and I had to constantly lean over the table and practically yell at each other to hear ourselves. Now come the menus with a reasonable selection of a bit pricey items. The food was good and reasonable portions. The waitress was regularly checking in on us. I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch as well as a dinner at Peppers in Canandaigua, NY this week. The lunch was with a hearing impaired friend. We asked for a quiet spot and were blessed with a booth at the far end of the dining area where it was not only quiet but cozy and conducive to a wonderful two-hour birthday celebration. My friend was very enthused and proclaimed, "this is a place I will be sure to return to". We both ordered the Salmon Caprese which was a daily special. I liked it so much that my husband and I returned to Peppers for dinner in hopes of ordering it again. The waitress said at 6:15 they were already out of the Salmon it was so popular. Each, the pasta trio was 18.99 and so I asked the server about the pricing she goes to a couple booths over where some lady who I assume was the manager no introduction she took 2$ off I show her the menu and said really ok...wanting to just go the hostess made a comment I told her your customer service skills are horrible, you didn't even greet my family or communicate what was going on the "manager"comes walking up to the register followed by the chef so I explained my kids had pasta and sauce only and u charged me 22$ each mind ur the receipt said chicken and broccoli the chef continues to everything is made fresh I laughed ,that was not fresh or worth it he began to argue with me and said he works very hard I said well shit I worked very hard for my money too! he continues argue I said just charge my card and he said just pay the bill, I said I intend to leave a review of this experience and I work in hospitality and would never argue with a customer they would not take off any money horrible customer service food average not worth $$ and I will be talking about my experience with a lot of people I spent over 100$ for a family of four!! Stopped in for a quick lunch with my dad. All the staff were super friendly and greeted us upon entering. Our waitress was very attentive checking on us several times as well as another staff member making sure everything was going well. We arrived about 10 minutes after opening on a Wednesday. It was picking up and seemed to get quite busy towards the noon hour. We were seated in a cozy little booth and it was relatively quiet during our meal in the restaurant. We had a short wait to be seated, Waitress was extremely busy, after we ordered it was a good 30 minute wait until we received our order. Upon receipt the waitress came back two minutes later and asked how everything was. We had not gotten to take more than a small bite. The food was over cooked to the point of being like shoe leather. ( I requested my burger to be medium, it was well past well done) the fries were hard. I can only give this place a four star rating because I was definitely not completely satisfied. I will however start out by saying the actual wraps and sandwiches are priced pretty decent for a place like this, however the other pasta and such meals are too high. I had "Jumbo Shells" the first time I went and they were in fact NOT jumbo whatsoever. I received 5 small stuffed shells with sauce. This was over $20. Jumbo Stuffed shells are way larger everywhere else I've ever gotten them. This time I got the Porky's Nightmare and my wife got the chicken Philly. The wrap I had was extremely good and had a lot of good flavor. Texas slaw was good as well. My wife's chicken Philly was also good, but served on roll and not a hoagie roll and came with what I assume to of been French dip sauce. It was also very good. Now, where I find the biggest problem and ripoff is the desserts. We tried a couple lives of pie and the they were mediocre. However, the cost of them was the issue. We got very small, would even say tiny slices and they were $9 each. One slice was definitely not even close to an actual slice of pie anywhere else I've ever been. With a family of 5 it's difficult to find a restaurant we all give 5 stars. This one was great! The prices seemed a little high but once we started eating I realized this was not your typical restaurant food. This is homemade gourmet "real" food! The lobster bisque was unique and had a sweet taste and a bit of (I think) ginger. So good! My kids and I shared the trio and loved it and were stuffed. The service was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a stylish and cozy sit down restaurant. I highly recommend saving room for dessert... or starting with it. march 14 2024, We stopped in to Peppers for dinner. In the past they have always had a great assortment of soups to choose from. Not tonight. i ordered the Southwest chicken salad- very good. We also ordered Lasagna . We have always been very happy with it, the sauce is excellent. This time something changed, the portion is something you might expect for a lunch. The portion was small[almost a joke]and it was served with dinner rolls [in the past it was Italian bread] So for this small piece of Lasagna with a small salad and dinner roll it was $25. I can go to an Italian restaurant on 332 in Farmington , get a bigger portion , great salad and Italian bread for less. Needless to say we probably won't be going back. The corned beef was tender and thinly sliced but the consistency resembled regular low grade sandwich meat. Haven't been here in a long while, def not since it changed hands. Disappointed! I love New England clam chowder & it was the soup of day so I ordered the half sandwich w/soup which I upgraded to a bowl. This was not NE Clam Chowder that I know! It was not white but looked like cream of chicken. I did find a few bits of clams & potatoes, but it had celery, carrots, & corn, plus a tang in the flavor - it was ok, but certainly NOT NE Clam Chowder. Hubs patty melt was dry, and flavorless. We were there last night (3/16/23) and my husband had the special of corned beef & cabbage. He said it was great. I had the shrimp scampi which used to be my favorite dish but last night it was awful. It is supposed to come with a parmesan cream sauce. It came in a pool of butter with some parm on it. The pasta was cooked in unsalted water and had no flavor and there was no creamy sauce. I was very disappointed. That is the last time I order that dish. Has this place changed hands? A stretch to give them 1 star. The food was ok at best. However, terrible service and management. Called ahead to ask for a table to accommodate and gave name to handle the check for guests. When we entered and were met at the door I was greeted by name. She knew about the call ahead and requests made. Waitress couldn't smile and seemed bothered when questions were asked while ordering. In the end she gave the check and took payment from my guests. When I complained management and everyone else used an insanity plea for no memory of the original call or requests. Peppers turned out to be an excellent choice for a late lunch . The service was prompt and attentive and the food high quality. The Black and Blue steak salad was not only tasty with a very good balsamic dressing and the right amount of blue cheese crumbles but really did have cut filet which was perfectly prepared and very tender and the presentation was well done. The food was pretty good and the waitress was good. However, if you have a child with special needs who may have difficulty being quiet in a noisy environment, then this isn't the place for you. An employee came over once and made a comment about him making noise. Then she came back later and told my kids to sit down (they were right next to the table) and to be quiet. Long story short, we found Peppers, and we chalked it up to a diner, which was fine with us. Upon entering, we saw the delicious specials board and the friendly, welcoming greetings.... I had an interesting salad on my mind, and Bam! There it was the grilled chicken with roasted beets over spinach!
