Just WOW- we visited at lunchtime to celebrate a birthday and was blown away. Stepping into this restaurant feels like you're walking into a gorgeous minimalistic zen space that still manages to incorporate warmth through the natural wood paneling and thoughtful touches. Tables and booths are laid out in a way that gives patrons both privacy and a wonderful space to have conversations. The tableware is immaculate and thoughtfully picked out. Our server, Brandonlee A was truly a star! He was very friendly and has the entire menu memorized right down to the specific ingredients used in EVERY single dish- yes, even the side dishes! He's a big reason that we had such a wonderful first experience at Noii and I sincerely hope Management takes notice and promotes this guy to become a manager because he clearly is so passionate about his job, cares about the customers he serves and so knowledgeable about the food! That's something very refreshing to see in the service industry. The lunch bento set was wonderful - the sushi upgrade was definitely worth it too IMO, because I'm a huge aburi toro fan. Everything from the beef croquette to the salad with crispy fish skin and ikura was delicious. The food presentation/plating was 10/10 and it was a feast for the eyes too. Even the grilled chicken rice bowl with the onsen egg was so yummy. We also loved the yuzu mixed drinks as well. The birthday dessert with a yuzu jelly topped with meringue and edible flowers added the perfect finishing touch to our meal. The ambience, food and service were all a home run for me. That says a lot because VERY few restaurants are able to achieve the perfect trifecta of all 3. Hopefully they will keep these high standards up! Beautiful restaurant on Main Street. The feel of a bit of luxury hits you in the face when you walk in through the sides. Detail was not missed on me! Even the chop sticks rest was well thought out. Definitely a higher end restaurant for special meals. The inside is pretty and looks like a cure restaurant in Japan. The service was also amazing even though they were busy and our omakase experience took close to 2.5 hours. Now onto the food... $150 for omakase (8 courses). In my opinion, it wasn't very worth it. The presentation was A+ but the quality and flavor of the dishes and fish was just okay. Some of the fish lacked flavor or tasted weird. For $150, I expected higher quality fish. We checked out this spot while visiting Kirkland area for lunch. They have street parking right in front and also a paid public parking lot. This spot is visually beautiful with modern architecture, furnishings and lighting. Our server was very sweet and explained the menu to us. We started with hot oolong tea and iced green tea, both refreshing and light. We went with the noii bento box lunch and it did not disappoint!! We started with a umami packed miso soup that came with mushroom and seaweed. All the fish was fresh and the chicken was juicy and not too salty. It was fun to dig through the bento and find a wonderful assortment of sushi, cooked meat and light sides. All were very delicious and we felt nice and full once we were done with our meal. Highly recommend the lunch bento here at Noii in downtown Kirkland, bring your appetites! What a great value, for $30 you get a salad topped with ikura, a tuna or salmon roll, three pieces of fresh nigiri, a curry potato croquet, your choice of saba or karaage, rice topped with gobo, and miso soup. Also enjoyed the chirashi with generous pairs of cuts of five fish and amaebi over warm sushi rice, a little pricey at $38 but very flavorful. Returned for the dinner service and it was remarkable. Al la carte sushi service at its best. This time around i came with a large group for a special occasion and got shared apps with our own entrees and everything was incredible. I finally got to try their cocktails which were very good as well. Sadly they were out of Tako Karaage, which was the one dish i had recommended to my group as the only person who previously dined here. But as a result we got to try the chawanmushi, shishito peppers, agedashi tofu which all tasted good. Presentation for agedashi tofu where they pour the sauce from a cute pout was also a very nice touch! On top of shared apps and drinks, I got the 10 piece nigiri set, 1 chu toro nigiri and two handrolls (tuna and otoro). All incredible. I love that you can get a variety of high quality fish a la carte.. honestly for the price point its a steal deal. The drink menu is incredibly beautiful, easy to understand. I had a lovely dinner exprience here, from food to service to ambiance. One of my favorite a la carte sushi places in this area. nigiri pieces are very well done- fresh, tender, and each piece was paired with its own unique garnish. I ordered a round of 10 pieces to start (plus some extras after.. :) . My favorites were the chutoro, otoro, dry aged hamachi belly, madai, and amaebi (comes with a crispy shrimp head!). I also loved the tako karaage - really crispy, plump tako pieces. Our server Dave was super attentive and gave us great recommendations. Came here for the first time today. We wanted to love this restaurant since it's so close from our home, but we left with a big disappointment. Ambience- 5/5. It's beautiful! This place is perfect for a date night! Service - 3/5. Our server was nice. I'm not sure why the manager won't teach all the servers how to pronounce things correctly though. If you are going to let their server explain each fish, you might as well teach them how to pronounce everything correctly. Sushi - 2/5. If you're a sushi snob like me, this probably isn't the place for you--unless you're willing to overlook the just-okay, conveyor-belt-level sushi and focus purely on the ambiance. Otherwise, you're better off getting omakase at I Love Sushi or Sushi by Takai for a more authentic Edomae experience in Bellevue. On the other hand, if you're newbie to sushi, this is a great place to start. I'd consider coming back mainly for the drinks, with low expectations for the food. That said, if you're new to sushi or Japanese cuisine, this is probably still an awesome place for you. read more

I would've hoped that our first time here to be different. Unfortunately, the service was quite poor. I definitely was expecting way more, especially from a restaurant that prides itself on quality. Our server was very confused and got several things wrong: drinks served to the wrong people; coming back short on napkins (we were a party of 4 and he only got 3 and didn't bother to get the 4th); after waiting for 15-20 minutes on a shareable plate (I think it was a salad) we asked about the delay and our server then went back to the kitchen and said the item was unavailable...That should've obv been communicated at the start. Second day of opening and already running pretty smoothly! Service is great. So glad to have another sushi option in downtown Kirkland (this one with some modern, high quality seasonal options like Kinmedai and Aka Kamasu, my favs!). Loved the modern Japandi interior as well. Fish quality is excellent - I enjoyed every piece I ordered. They have some interesting ones they've definitely put a lot of thought and prep into!!! So can confidently say nigiri was consistently good across the board. Rice was a little firm, but the fish-to-rice ratio was right where it should be. Seaweed on the handroll though wasn't as crispy as desired (some parts slightly chewy). Cocktails ($19) were thoughtful and actually paired well with the sushi: complementary and not overpowering. We did recommend an ice block or cube) would have been better for one drink over a bunch of ice. Wagyu bites could've used a touch more salt, but I loved the texture as well as the taste. The maitalke throughout though.... I adore maitake! And also they present a nice textural break. The mayo dip was confusing though and didn't add much. Overall, Noii is doing a lot right and has a bright future. I'd come back for the nigiri and the vibes alone. read more

Unfortunately our first and probably last experience ruined by loud bartender/waitress talking in a volume, manner and substance that took us completely out of any nice atmosphere and experience that we may have had. So much potential in this restaurant but I just think there's obviously a lack of training and / or management on site checking that the lighting music and other sensory elements are to standard. Felt like dining in a cafeteria, low brow. Made the bill seem more than would be justified for that experience. I have been to Noii a few times now, and I adore them! They provide a clean atmosphere that makes me feel as though I am in a high scale, sushi restaurant in New York! For appetizers, we got the tempura vegetables and the poke and they were both 10 out of 10 I have never had vegetable tempura before and the crispiness on this was phenomenal. The spicy tuna roll for my entree was very fresh and tasty as well. Great service and great food! We started with ora king salmon and snow crab nigiri, both of which had wonderful taste and texture. We then ordered miso soup (so good), grilled shishitos (which were cooked to perfection and had delicious seasoning), edamame, wagyu bites, and the mackerel as our main. For beverages, we got the purple dream and the sweet hustle. Both had tasty and not-too-strong flavor palates. Overall, this as the perfect amount of food for 2 people who weren't starving. Very impressed with Noii after my visit last night. This is a legit Japanese restaurant with outstanding food. The restaurant's design is sleek, modern and feels upscale but not pretentious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and offered good suggestions. The drinks took a little longer than I expected but they were tasty. The miso soup was the best I ever had! We also had tempura prawns, wagyu bites (delicious!), a couple rolls, several pieces of toro and salmon sashimi and finished the meal with their superstar dessert, a deconstructed pavlova with yozu and sweet yogurt. Comeon Kirkland, get it together! I hope that the community supports this and other restaurants to keep more options open for the future. Noii is quite nice and minimal in its design, the menu is slightly larger than I expected though not terribly vast, and the staff is currently quite fresh and on point. The restaurant feels at home near RockCreek, and I'm happy that a restauranteur has taken the time to design and build a high quality place to dine. Several places that have popped up look DiY and low rent in comparison and although I will support any and all opportunities in town, it's nice to enjoy a professional environment. Food was good. We enjoyed a quarter of the menu and would like to further enjoy the rest, but more importantly, my wife considers it a good date night location and that's worth the price of admission. read more

The meal began on a promising note with the tempura shrimp, which arrived crisp, airy, and cleanly fried. The batter had that ideal lightness -- a gentle crunch that gave way to sweet, tender shrimp. Paired with the warm dipping sauce, it was easily one of the more successful dishes of the evening. The two main dishes, however -- the steak and the scallops -- unfortunately arrived cold, which took away from both their flavor and intended textures. * The steak, beautifully sliced and garnished with scallions, clearly had good marbling and was seared with skill, but the temperature issue left it tasting muted. * The scallops, presented attractively in their shells with roe and herbs, also suffered the same problem. The sauce had started to congeal, and the dish lost the warmth that brings sweetness and delicacy forward. If both plates had arrived hot, they would have been standouts -- the presentation and ingredient quality were unmistakably high. The evening was redeemed by the dessert, which became the undeniable highlight of the meal. Visually striking with its shards of crisp meringue, the dish delivered a perfect interplay of sweet, tart, crunchy, and creamy. The textures layered beautifully: the crackle of the meringue, the softness of the cream, the brightness of the fruit. It was refined, balanced, and memorable -- the kind of dessert that lingers after the meal is over. Overall, the experience showed flashes of culinary talent and thoughtful plating, but temperature execution on the main courses held the meal back. Noii Sushi was a delightful surprise. When we arrived, the entrance felt a bit deceiving, on the right, a bright and lively bar; on the left, a large closed door where you can't see inside. Just as we approached, the sliding door opened, revealing a beautifully designed interior inspired by Thailand. The space is exquisite: soft textures, warm tones, no harsh lighting, just enough illumination to feel calm and intentional. There was a bit of initial confusion about where we would be seated, with plans changing a few times, but we ultimately ended up at the bar and that turned out to be the best possible choice. The bar experience was excellent. Although they don't officially offer omakase yet, we enjoyed an omakase-style experience, and they shared that full omakase service will begin on January 17, 2026. What truly made the evening special was the warmth and friendliness of the chefs and staff. The personal attention from Chef Jay elevated the entire experience and made us feel genuinely welcomed. As for the food, an absolute highlight. The textures, balance, and flavors were a wonderful surprise, refined and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend Oii Sushi. We will definitely be back. read more

We came at lunch to give noii a try, and it will now be on our " favorites list". The amount of fresh, delicious food given was unbelievable. My husband's favorite food is sushi, and he is very particular on flavor and freshness. noii won him over! The bento boxes were priced at $20/$30 dollars. The variety and amount of food- really! The bento boxes themselves were full of delicious creations, and the boxes themselves were beautifully crafted, like we have never seen! First class in all levels! Presentation as well! I normally do not ask for a " doggy bag", but there I was, happily stuffed! Our server bagged up my leftovers, and it almost looked like a gift! Noii sushi is a classy place, great food, great service. We had other service team members check on us during our meal, not overbearing, but kind and caring! The fact there is a vegetarian option ( for me, not my husband) was a huge PLUS ( thank you!!!) When I made reservations, I put it was my husbands birthday lunch, and at the end of the meal came a complimentary matcha ice cram scoop in a gorgeous cookie- all topped with a candle. Such a great addition to not only Kirkland but the Seattle area. This restaurant is a gem! First off this restaurant is beautiful, very nice vibes and with a well done minimalist touch. We had the omakase and the fish was so fresh! Such a variety too. From fatty tuna, Alaskan crab, A5 Japanese wagyu that melts, roasted miso cod, to buttery salmon. Even the concentrated melon dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. The courses were thoughtfully selected and planned out. Service was super attentive and friendly. We will definitely be coming back! This might be taking our #1 sushi spot in Seattle. If they repeat this meal then it will! The Good: The place is beautiful. Vibe and ambience is fantastic. The O'toro and Salmon Belly were fantastic here. Food presentation was also nice. The Okay: Some of the appetizers were hit or miss. The Shishito peppers were good, but the edamame with truffle butter was meh. Drinks were also okay as well. What needs improvement: Service. Our server was really nice, but we had to sit around and wait for our server to come and help us a lot of the time we were there. We had to constantly call someone over to help, which was pretty bad. Let's just say we paid for 2 hour parking because we usually can dine and be out within that timeframe. We had to add an extra hour to the parking because it took us that long to dine, because most of the time was honestly waiting. We also were unaware we had to pay $20 for 2 bottles of water. When we sat down, all we were asked is if we want a bottle of water (stilled or sparkling) so in my mind, I'm thinking this is complimentary. We were not even given options of tap water or even given cups with water, so not sure if this an upsell method here without making it clear to the guests.
