I think I'd personally prefer an actually patty so I can get medium instead of smashed which is more medium-well or well done. The smash fries were also good. Odd thing to stand out, but the Coke here was so good. It's rare to get a really good Coke now and days, but this was perfect. Server was good and friendly. The French dip sandwich wasn't too bad. The meat was really well done and dry. The au jus was very flavorful so helped balance that. I had a little bit of the rice pilaf and sweet potato fries. Both good. The fries had nice seasoning on them.

The cheese Danish were made from puff pastry sheets that are sold frozen and they were filled with a tasty but sparse cheese filling. I went from three stars to two. Service was decent, and the ambiance was nice, but overall the experience was just okay. The Peruvian pretzel was actually pretty darn good and probably one of the highlights of the meal. The biggest disappointment, and the main reason I'm giving three stars, was the oysters. If I could rate the oysters separately, I would give them zero stars. They were probably some of the worst-tasting oysters I've ever had. They tasted extremely fishy and did not seem fresh at all. We ordered a dozen and definitely regretted ordering that many. The dipping sauce that came with them was very good, but for the price this restaurant charges, the oysters should absolutely taste fresh. I also would not recommend the mac and cheese. It looked more like something that came out of a box than freshly made restaurant mac and cheese. If you're ordering for kids, I'd probably choose the pasta with tomato sauce instead. There were some good things about the meal, especially the pretzel and the atmosphere, but between the oysters, the mac and cheese, the long wait for food, and the prices, three stars feels fair.

This visit was probably the best and worst experience I've had here at the same time. We walked in just before closing without realizing how late it was. The customer who came in right after us was immediately told they couldn't order because the restaurant was closed, which is completely understandable. However, the way it was communicated came across as very rude and abrupt. A simple "I'm sorry, we're closed" would have gone a long way. After that the vibe in the whole place changed even behind the counter. After placing our order, I specifically requested some burgers plain, some without lettuce, and also asked for ranch with our fries. When our food came out, the burgers were made incorrectly and the ranch was missing. I went back to the counter and was told by the same employee that she couldn't give me ranch because her register was already closed and she would have to charge me for it. The cashier who originally took my order apologized and said she thought she had added it to the receipt. I explained that I had requested it when ordering (I had even left a tip) When I asked if I could still get the ranch, I was told no and the employee walked away. Thankfully, the manager came up to my table and provided the ranch, allegedly anyway she was wearing normal clothes no uniform. She also had the incorrectly made burgers remade and personally brought them to our table, apologizing again for the inconvenience. The manager completely turned the experience around and was the reason the visit ended on a positive note. Unfortunately, one employee's attitude left a lasting impression. Customer service isn't always easy, but friendliness and professionalism make a huge difference, especially when handling simple requests. (The blonde, shaved head lady) I'm grateful the manager stepped in and made things right. However, after this experience, I'll probably think twice before making this my late-night go-to spot again.

(those were our only two options at the time we arrived) but neither disappointed: The outlaw potato: If comfort food and gourmet creativity had a baby, it would be this open-faced smoked potato masterpiece. From the first glance, it's clear this isn't your average spud -- the sea salt-crusted skin adds a satisfying crunch that gives way to a pillowy, smoky interior. Melted butter and tangy sour cream mingle at the base, setting the stage for the savory dance of crisp bacon bits and fresh green onion. The Carolina pig: this sandwich is what barbecue dreams are made of. Served on a perfectly soft, oil-top bun, the pork is tender, smoky, and slow-cooked to perfection -- each bite packed with that signature tangy Carolina flavor that fans of true BBQ will instantly recognize and love. Service: was top notch the girls were ready to go home, yet they entertained us and kept us laughing with offering items they no longer had on the menu. They did not make us feel rushed nor did they throw any shade at us that we were probably holding them up from closing shop.

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

I'd heard about the place, and had always wanted to try it. I really, really enjoyed the experience. Most delightful dinner I've had in a long time. I can't wait to go back. I say these things because I'm going to have a couple negatives to go along with the praise, and I want to make it clear that I highly recommend the place as a fun, enjoyable dining experience. First, I'll go over the plusses. The view of the lake is serene and enjoyable. Really makes for an enjoyable dining experience. Call it Tahoe Junior. I highly recommend the bottom level of the restaurant, which has an elevated menu with higher pricing over the top level casual dining. Better aesthetics and menu make it worth it. They also do have a bargain menu of smaller portions if you can live with smaller portions. (Not me, lol.) You can see the menu at their site. Prices are typical Nicer eatery level. ($50+.) I had the ribeye. Typical quality. Well prepared. Featured a NICE proprietary blue cheese butter spread. Umm, yummy! I want more! Also loved the peach ice tea. More yummy. I overdose everything in sweetener, so I recommend that. Staff was first rate. Darn near everything about the visit was great from start to finish. Now for my negatives... The bread was these Tiny little slices of (I suppose) Italian bread. I wasn't familiar with it. Perhaps it's a standard four-bite bread type. Certainly didn't work for me. Bite-size is not really what I want in dinner bread... Veggies were bleh. Broccolini and carrots. Did nothing for me. We now come to the big disappointment and the Offense... No baked potato, but mashed potatoes! I can't recall the last time I ordered a quality steak that came with mashed potatoes instead of a BAKED potato! "No big deal," I thought. "I'll order a baked potato." The Up Charge was $9! You heard that right. NINE DOLLARS to swap baked for mashed! I might expect $9 for a potato at Ruth's Chris, but gosh! NINE DOLLARS?! The whole table was offended. That did not ruin the meal for us. We all enjoyed it and planned to return, but we ALL thought NINE DOLLARS for a potato--and we're not talking a huge one either, though it was decent in size--was insane. Absolutely insane. Fixins did not include bacon bits, which surprised me, but not every place offers them so okay. That's it. Full dinner and drinks for 4 was a bit under $300. Enjoyed ourselves, going back, but we don't understand the outrageous price on the potato. Tagging the visit at a 4, and recommending Ducey's. Be prepared for mashed... Shown--dinner and the $9 potato :)

I would probably only come back for the views next time I'm in the area, and get some drinks and light apps!
