Salmon Lover Roll
Tiffany A.

Noda Sushi is on a busy street full of places to eat. There aren't many casual sushi spots on this side of pasadena except for Sugarfish (but I wouldn't call that casual lol or I hope one day I can call that a casual sushi spot haha $$). It's pretty easy to get a table on Friday nights. My main squeeze called to try to make a reservation and the lady said it wasn't necessary for 2 ppl at 7pm on a Friday . The lighting can be a bit dark, and the ambiance was a little too quiet in my opinion. the selection of unbaked rolls is pretty limited. We got the dragon roll and lemon salmon roll. Both were good but wished there were more options. The fish to rice ratios are generous so I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 3. the service is friendly + attentive. Overall, I would only stop by if I was in the area but there are better options like Sushigah, sushi enya and sushi Roku for non AYCE options a mile away

The food quality was very friendly. Friendly service and prices are fair. Parking can be tough.

I absolutely LOVE Noda! My family and I have been going there for years, and I've brought so many friends to this cute little restaurant. The sushi chef and servers are all so kind and sweet! My favorites are the SOS roll and Barbara roll- I get these every time and everyone's who's tried them has agreed they're delicious! The unagi donburi is also really good. I should have written this review long ago- it's such a great hidden gem restaurant in Pasadena!

Been to many sushi restaurants only Noda produces highest quality food. The chef skills are impeccable. Things I like about Noda. 1. Quality 2. Priced for common people 3. Always expect top quality sushi and sashimi.

The food quality here is not good. The salmon tasted old. The katsu was way overdone and dry and a very small portion. The Agadeshi tofu was good. The tempura was good; I liked how crispy the batter was. However, the shrimp tempura tasted old. The green tea was meh, but free refills. The miso soup was also meh. The waitress was nice, though. Some regulars came in and had good rapport with her.

Over priced food. Service was okay, but does not justify the price. I have never been charged at an Asian restaurant for a bowl of rice.

The gave us complimentary sake samples bc the sake company was on site promoting. I don't usually drink alcohol but couldn't resist free. The yuzu was my favorite. The seabass collar was a tad overcooked. Sushi prices are pretty hefty but the cuts of sashimi were good. Service was great, staff were all so kind and attentive. Now here's my only gripe: we ordered 2 orders of salmon sushi, 1 order of o-toro sushi and 1 order of chu-toro (2 pieces per order). When the food server brought out the plate, there were 4 pieces of salmon, 4 pieces of o-toro and 2 pieces of chu-toro. I immediately took a pause bc I swore I only ordered 2 pieces of o-toro. Before I could even bring it up, the same server came back and asked if we order 1 or 2 orders of o-toro. I said we ordered only 1 order. He then asked if we want to PAY for the second order or he'll just 'take it away'. I find that odd bc it wasn't our fault that you guys made the mistake, it should have just been on the house. It's not like you're going to be able to resell that because it already sat on our table. We didn't want to wait for him to take away our entire plate of sushi so we just said we'll keep it. That didn't sit well with me.

It's the perfect spot for a nice candlelit dinner. The restaurant does get very busy and it can be a little loud, but it is 100% worth it. The salmon was unlike any salmon I've ever had -- incredibly buttery, smooth, and practically melted in my mouth. The scallops were amazing too, and everything we tried tasted so fresh. Our server was also extremely knowledgeable and made the experience even better. I genuinely loved this place and will definitely be coming back. Fair warning: this place might ruin every other sushi restaurant for you. Definitely recommend!

We ended up having to wait about 30 minutes till they texted when we were next in line which was not bad at all. The ambiance is cozy with a small bar/counter seating area. Not very noisy so you can easily carry on a conversation. The bar seating is actually just counter seating as there is no bar with spirits anywhere in sight. They also do not have the traditional sushi prep area visible from the counter seating or anywhere else from inside the restaurant which surprised me. My wife ordered the Nosawa Trust Me and my son ordered the Don't Think Just Eat meals. I ordered the 2 of the Salmon Sushi, edamame, and a couple of other sushi which all came in quantity of 2 small bites. The service was excellent although it did take a bit between each of the servings. They prep the next dishes once you finish them and then bring out a little more once they finish making them. Most of everything we had was very good. The Salmon sushi stole the show though. The lobster sushi was unfortunately not very good at all and they had to force them down. Good experience overall and would return and probably just get the basic Trust Me meal instead of the other dishes as that is plenty of food. Oh, they also dont have miso soup.

We ordered just a few things to try. The hamachi collar was super yummy. I would order it again. Shrimp tempura roll was very good. Not overly saucy and very filling. The yellow tail that came in the sushi combo A was the star of the show. I would order the yellow tail without any hesitation over and over again. The tuna was equally as delicious. I'm not one for salmon or the other options but my boyfriend says they were equally as good. The toro: super fatty. Solid portion we would order it again. We'll be back. I know South pas has a solid sushi selection I highly recommend giving this place a try!

An unforgettable dining experience from beginning to end!…read more Our little one woke up one morning and announced that she wanted to try caviar, so we found Kaviar in Pasadena because they offer a true caviar service complete with all the traditional accoutrements. Chris was our server, and he was absolutely fantastic. He made us feel genuinely welcomed, anticipated everything we needed, and turned our daughter's first caviar experience into such a special memory. She especially loved the dramatic cold fog rising from the ice, and needless to say, she is now officially in love with caviar! We ordered the: * 50g caviar service (ten out of ten, no notes) * shishito peppers (the sauce is out of this world) * uni pasta (the heavy cream is divine) * Wagyu strip loin steak (melts in your mouth) * baked lobster roll signature roll (pure decadence) * blue crab and salmon signature sashimi (rich, silky, and incredibly fresh) * albacore crispy onion signature sashimi (fireworks in every bite) * garlic albacore signature roll (so good, we forgot to talk) Every single dish was outstanding. We honestly couldn't choose a favorite or even rank them. The flavors were so fresh, balanced, and beautifully executed that we didn't even reach for the soy sauce. Before we left, we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Tigran. He took our family photo, personally walked us out, and made us feel incredibly special. That level of hospitality stayed with us just as much as the food. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, chic, stylish, and perfect for a special occasion, while still feeling warm and inviting. We were still talking about the meal the entire drive home. Exceptional food, exceptional service, and an experience our family will always remember. We cannot wait to return!

The sashimi was easily the highlight of the meal. Every piece had great texture and clean flavor, and you could tell they weren't trying to hide the quality behind heavy sauces. The shishito peppers were another surprise favorite. Super addictive and probably one of the first things I'd order again. I also had the hamachi kama. The fish itself was cooked perfectly and stayed incredibly moist. My only small complaint is that I wish the skin had been a little crispier. I always end up picking at the crispy bits, so I was hoping for a little more there. The presentation was beautiful without feeling over the top, service was attentive throughout dinner, and the atmosphere made it easy to slow down and enjoy the meal. It had clams, shrimp, abalone, and vegetables. It was served in a medium-sized stone hot pot. It was perfect for two! Really enjoyed this! ASSORTED TEMPURA Crispy, crispy and crispy! So good! The vegetables were shiitake mushroom, green bean, sweet potato, and shrimp. This was the best tempura I've had in so long! I'll definitely be reordering when I return! HANDROLLS Spicy Tuna, Real Crab, Negi Toro All delicious and they cut it in half to share as well! My favorites were the spicy tuna and negi toro. But all were good and well made! Each one was large enough to share too, especially if you order different dishes. CUSTOMER SERVICE We had attentive service, since we were the last guests for lunch hour. So we had to hurry and place our order within 15 minutes before lunch hour is over. However, it was still a smooth service and a very pleasant experience overall! This is my second time here and I am definitely returning! Highly recommend coming on a weekday for lunch, as there are lunch special menus to try as well as a la carte menus to choose from as well.
