I only got the pan de Bono but that was great my favorite spot to order pan de Bono. They sat us down next to the entrance close to door which I do not recommend during winter because it wind came in and it was cold. When we asked to be moved our waiter was friendly and quickly moved us towards the middle of the restaurant. The ambiance was better there, and the TVs had a soccer game on. The food is good, I will give them that. I've only eaten there once & it was absolutely beautiful inside, the service was sub par. They have way too many employees that actually aren't doing anything. We ordered appetizers & some sangria.... NO ONE came to see how our food was or if we needed anything for over 45 minutes. We flagged a couple people down to ask if we could order our entree's & they said we had to do that with our server. We explained that we hadn't seen her since we ordered the appetizers. They deserve 0! Super bad service. Placed online told to pick up 20 minutes and when I get there I had to wait almost an hour. The staff instead of helping were laughing and talk about me in Spanish. Manager was useless after me asking what's going on he disappeared into kitchen. 40 minutes later I asked to cancel order and just get a refund I was told I had to wait for manager. About 15 minutes later the guy shows up with my order. At this point I'm not even hungry anymore. Before leaving I told them to make sure they don't speak about customers in Spanish thinking I didn't understand. Manager didn't even apologize or showed any concern. Never going there again. Large selection of food, plenty of apps, desserts and entrees from chicken to pork to beef to seafood. We went with a group of 6 people on a Saturday night and they seated us right away although they were very busy. It is annoying that they don't take reservations on weekends though. Parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. Be careful to not double tip as the tip was already added to our bill. We will certainly be back. read more

Went here for a late happy hour with some friends. Awesome atmosphere, very trendy and open. The hostess and waitress were great, easily got us all seated and served quickly. There was live music and they were talented. They need some more room to really dance! We munched on some appetizers. The fried plantains with guacamole were delicious. There was some kind of fried pork with was just okay. I couldn't eat it, but the cheese bread was raves about. On the drinks end, they have a variety of specialty cocktails, some of us got single bulldogs, others a double bulldog, and then sangria. Everything was thoroughly enjoyed by all! OMG this place is so good! I have eaten there and ordered delivery and both were huge portions of truly delicious food! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered both times. I've come here several times and the food is ok. It's usually really hectic so I imagine a lot of people like it here. I do like their bakery... that is if I actually get served. I waited for a long time even though I was second in line. There were about 5-7 people working behind the counter but they all seemed so busy so I didn't say anything. They glanced at me from time to time but still no one said anything. The first person in front of me was still being helped with a large order so I didn't want to rush anyone. When the person in front of me paid, the cashiers went to do other tasks like refill displays or whatever. Still I said nothing because they all seemed busy. Eventually, now 10-15 minutes after I walked in, a large family comes in and the cashiers immediately perked up and asked how they could help them with an order. I tried to get their attention by shouting hello but by then it dawned on me that they couldn't give a crap about the fact that I was there or they were so incompetent that even with 5-7 people working behind the counter they didn't know there was a second person waiting in line. I'm a big fan of Noches de Colombia and this one in Hackensack is pretty good. I've been here a few times but this latest visit was for a quick to go breakfast after hitting the gym. Its pretty cool that not only do they offer a nice seating area and a full bar but they also have a Bakery all the way to the left. This makes is super easy to place a to go order. We got a few things from the bakery that included pan de bono, bunuelos, chicharron, chorizo and of course empanadas! Everything we got was really good and fresh. So, I'll be honest I am a big fan of Noches De Colombia. I've been to about four of five locations here in North Jersey but this particular one was not it for Take-Out. I love there breaded chicken lunch special, in which I ordered. But this breaded chicken I had tasted pretty bad. It looked and tasted old. It was super pasty with the breaded crumbs on top and did not taste or look fresh. The beans were ehhhh not yummy and tasted like canned beans just thrown in a pot with a little bit of seasoning. The rice didn't taste fresh as well. Not sure if today just wasn't a good day for them. But my suggestion would be to check on your chefs in the back. My family and I are big fans of Noches de Colombia and have been going to the location in Englewood until this one opened up. I love the music they play every single time I come here. Depending on when you go is how attentive your server will be. There have been times we've come in and it looks extremely busy but he/she will check in with our table often. Other times, the restaurant will have plenty of open tables and he/she is never to be found. During our most recent visit, my family and I came in on a Sunday night around 8:30pm for a birthday. We were immediately seated for a group of 6 and there wasn't a huge crowd at the time. It took about 15 minutes before we asked a random employee who our server was since no one stopped by our table to introduce themselves. Since we had a good amount of time to check out the menu, we decided to place our drink and food orders at the same time. We were prepared to wait a while for our food to actually arrive to the table from the time we ordered. This is something that's stayed consistent from all the times we've eaten at either location. We ordered Pan de Bono to hold us through until we got our food. It's a light fluffy bread and I personally think it's great without needing to add butter. I ordered the Guacamole con Chicarron (pork cracklings with tostones and guacamole). This was my first time ordering this. I usually get the Camarones al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic butter sauce), but decided to change it up. My favorite part of the entire dish was the guacamole. Mixed with tomatoes and onions, it was fresh and paired great with the warm tostones. The pork skin was crunchy and the rest of the meat easily separated from the skin when you took a bite. Tip: don't come here expecting fast service and a quick bite unless you're just going to the bakery at one side of the restaurant. From the beginning we should have known better. The lack of customer service was missing when we entered. Upon being seated, our waitress approached us pad in hand and asked us "what did we want" not friendly at all. Never saying her name so I ask her and she said with a quick blink of the eye smile "Julie". We inquired about the 2 sides a couple of times because she was speaking so fast we couldn't understand her. We ask, "Does the grill chicken come with two sides, are rice and beans counted as 2 sides or 1?" She finally said yes, it's counted as 2. Then she ask did we want anything to drink which we ordered and she left. Here's where it goes downhill. After about 4-5 minutes she brings us our drinks (Pina colada & a Pepsi), drops the drinks on the tale and leaves, never asking if we were ready to order. In the meantime, two Latino women are seated in from of us. Less than a few minutes, a young man dress in Noches uniform approaches their table and ask them if everything is alright and did they place their order, then he skips our table, goes to the table that is behind us to the left and ask he exact same thing. He ask the same thing at every table but ours, never stopping. Hold on, it gets worst. Julie returns and goes to the table were the 2 ladies where sitting and ask them if they were ready to order, they respond yes and she starts writing it down. She never comes to our table so we decide to leave because we got the message. Upon leaving our table, I said to Julie "we were here first and you took their order before us?" She rolls her eyes and says something to them in Spanish and they turn around to look at us and they all shake their heads and started speaking amongst themselves while still looking at us. We walked out. Oh did I not mention that my daughter and I are African Americans? I have experienced racism & prejudice in my life but never at this magnitude in quite a long time. It was blatant discrimination. But the fact that these servers where openly willing to varying their quality of service based on customers' race, says that they probably give African-Americans inferior service which shows that race continues to be an issue in our society. Tableside racism is yet another example in which as African Americans are stereotyped and subsequently treated poorly in everyday situation. Race continues to be a significant barrier to equal treatment in restaurants as well as in other areas of social life. But this behavior should not be accepted. After leaving we went to another Noches De Columbia restaurant because we did hear that Noches food was very good. We went with the idea of leaving behind our feelings from the previous encounter and to judge the one in South Hackensack on its own merit. Totally different, wonderful experience. I will write about them separately because they do not deserve to even be mention on this page. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Was there this morning and patiently waited for my turn. After endless minutes, the counter person ignored me and took care of the gentleman that came in after me 'assuming the counter associate in the back had already taken care of me'. They always seem to get discombobulated over a simple order of coffee; take forever to process the order/payment and also seem to want to occupy themselves with anything else but help patrons that walk in. When they do help you, they do it with an attitude as if you are bothering them. This seems to be the case with all their locations as I have now tried a few and it is always the same.
