Heard about this new sushi place on the Westbank that we just had to try. You walk into a big, pretty space. They're taking all sorts of precautions due to the virus. The waitress was sweet. We ordered the shrimp kimchi udon which was savory and subtle and delicious. For sushi we got the New Orleans and Big Easy rolls which were tasty, big and fresh! Who we assume was the chef/owner even came to our table and spoke to us which was really sweet. We will definitely be back again! read more

Finally tried this place! Extremely spacious setting with plenty of seating. We tried a few things, the tonkatsu ramen, shrimp fried rice, and a specialty sushi roll. I really enjoyed my tonkatsu ramen, it was flavor and they didn't skimp on meat. The fried rice was also good, it was a very large portion! The only thinG we didn't enjoy was the sushi. Something about the flavors together didn't work well. Not sure if the raw fish wasn't fresh enough, but we certainly had better sushi rolls elsewhere. I came here for dinner one evening and ordered a couple cosmo martinis - delicious! They gave us complimentary noodles (which I thought was very nice). Also ordered the scallops dinner where you can order a side protein for a fraction of the price. The Surf N Turf roll was so good, I highly recommend it. The staff was very attentive and polite. They were courteous and friendly. At the end of our dinner, the owner came out and greeted us and asked about our experience. I give this place a one star because they were rude to myself and my fiancé. We arrived and was the only quest at the time. We ordered our food. A Caucasian group of three came in ordered their food. The waiter and waitress catered to them and brought them their order before us. Twenty minutes passed when another Caucasian couple came and they catered to them as well. They too got their food before us. My fiancé was very upset as we were getting up to leave they brought our food COLD!!!! and we had never gotten our drinks we ordered but everyone else did. I came here for dinner last night. I was really hoping to like this place because it was my first time. I am a very patient person so I didn't mind the long wait for the food but My experience was spoiled due to lousy customer service. They seemed to be very short handed and the server was rude and she rushed us in the middle of sentences cutting us off. The manager's attitude also was not okay. We were ready to leave and we had only just ordered our food. We only stayed for the hopes that the food would be worth it. Ordered the po boy roll which came with all cooked seafood and all of the seafood was old. I couldn't eat it. The imitation crab even smelled like old fish. Wanted to try the new kid on the block. Found the location nice but with only 3 tables full tonight it was loud. Can only imagine a busy night. Service was good but a little slow (under staffed). Sushi Roll was falling apart on the plate. The food in general was ok to good. Hate to say it but based on price and taste We see no reason not to continue to go to our regular place. This is my second time at the restaurant and it makes me sad to see the bad reviews but most of them seem to be when they first open! I would say give them a try this place is really good and it's hard to keep good places on the westbank. If we think about it this has been a area that's always changing and I would be sad to see this place leaves. The bubble teas are good and as well the sushi and noodles! It has a spicy, smoky flavor! Portions are great too. I've also tried the burning man roll and the New Orleans roll which were both full of flavor as well! Awful food. Great server and super friendly people. The food is not worth the wait. An hour for a Togo order for my boyfriend and I with only 2 tables in the restaurant at about 12am. Pathetic and inexcusable. The first time I came here my experience was the same as most recently - thought I'd give them another try to see if they'd improve but I was let down yet again. Your menu is too big, maybe that's why the food isn't the best. If you guys cut down the menu by more then half and actually work on perfecting just a few items, this restaurant would actually do well. read more

I came here because one of my fave sushi places nearby was doing take out only and I wanted to dine in. I should have just eaten in my car. The shrimp and vegetable tempura were delicious, however my Nola roll did not taste very fresh. I actually wanted to spit out my very first bite, but refrained. In an attempt to be polite about the situation I told the manager I simply did not like it. She then told me that next time she can not pay for me to not know what I am ordering. Excuse me?! I have been eating sushi since I was in middle school- I know what I am ordering! AND I have been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years- addressing an issue like that was highly unprofessional and needless to say there will not be a next time. Was told this is the same ownership as Sakura who used to be on manhattan in the same area. Always heard great things about Sakura so gave them a try. I checked the menu out and was excited to see Poke Bowls on the menu since there isn't anywhere on the Westbank yet to get a great Poke bowl. I ordered the spicy tuna and subbed the rice for mixed greens. Both days I got a huge, fresh bowl with quality ingredients. Today the order was wrong when I picked it up but the manager jumped quickly to correct it. Give them a chance, they are still working out the kinks but are happy to make you happy! read more

I am happy that a new sushi restaurant has popped up. Especially one with some outdoor seating! The decor and vibe of the place is a little strange- there's no real theme and it's kind of just a mixture of "stuff". Aside from that- our service was prompt and attentive. The edamame was a too salty for my taste. It was covering the entire length as if they submerged it in sea salt. Gyoza was delicious and fried nicely. Spring rolls to go were equally very tasty. The sushi could likely use better construction. It was kind of falling apart but aside from that- tasty. I would say brushing up on the skills of the chef could give an extra star. The interior contents of the rolls were not dispersed evenly through each piece. My Philadelphia roll has huge chunks of cream cheese in some and then none in other pieces. Small technicalities that can easily be fixed. Will revisit again :) read more

My absolute FAVORITE sushi restaurant in the city. Westbank or Eastbank. I have NEVER had a bad meal and the only downside is that I now crave Nobuko every single day but I have to settle for once or twice a week. First off the staff is so friendly. My boyfriend and I have formed a friendship with the servers, sushi chefs, and owners. They are fast and friendly. Now as for the food, they have rolls you could only dream of. My personal favorites are the Louisiana roll and the Scallop ceviche roll. However, the poke bowls, salads, sushi pizza, sushi tacos, are all amazing. You won't find a bad dish here. If you are on the fence about trying Nobuko, do yourself a favor and GO. You won't regret it! read more
