I picked this up as takeout so I can't speak on the dine in experience. The staff I did encounter were very polite. I ordered the salmon box, it was only $8 before tax and tip. I was pleasantly surprised by their "dressed up" version of a standard salmon box by adding avocado underneath the snow crab and the crunchy seaweed on top. It made it so much more tasty. Plus the pieces of salmon on top were very thick! And it came with the perfect amount of sauce on top as well as along the long edge of the to-go box so you could easily slide each piece thru the sauce before taking a bite :)

My niece recommended this place her birthday, so we went. Service was good, he kept checking on us which is good. Place did not smell as some others said. Food was great! Ramen, sushi and salads were fresh and came out at a decent time. Try the Tuna Carpaccio.

Visited solo on a Monday evening. The restaurant was quite large but was very clean and inviting. The server was attentive and visited me multiple times. I was impressed how well prepared all the food items were. I tried the crab puffs which were delicious. You receive 5 puffs that are wrapped in thin wonton wrappers. They were much lighter and way less greasy than any other place that I've visited. The vegetable tempera had a tasty, crunchy batter, again, very light as well. Finally I had the chef special Omakase Sushi roll. Wow! The fish was finely sliced and fresh. I admit that it wasn't exactly my cup a tea being as it had both surf and turf I believe (my fault) but I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors. There was a gentle sweetness from the fruit and fruit sauces that paired wonderfully with the punchy house made spicy mayo and creamy sauce. You could easily tell they weren't store bought by the textures. Prices are fair the quality. Highly recommend I will definitely be visiting again.

I went here today for lunch with my friends. One of them suggested the spot and I love sushi so it was right up my alley. The menu is extensive so it took me a while to decide what to eat. I ordered the crawfish egg rolls and tiger roll. The crawfish egg rolls was stuffed with crab and crawfish. I devoured them so quickly I didn't get a chance to take a picture lol. The roll I picked was the tiger roll (raw). It has spicy tuna, white fish, and salmon with spicy Mayo sauce. The size/portions are huge, you will not leave hungry. I think this will be my go to spot for sushi when I'm at work. Definitely a must try!

We've gone twice in two days; second time brought a friend. The rolls are HUGE. You get your moneys worth. The pho is "a solid 7 or 8 out of 10" coming from my Vietnamese buddy we brought along. Staff is small but very friendly. The place has a lounge feel, with the sweetest paintings along the walls. If I'm not mistaken, there's a drive thru.

This is our sushi spot on the West Bank. My husband and I treat ourselves to a sushi date night here every once and awhile and the service is always excellent. The rolls are huge so we narrowed down what to order. We order 2 appetizers and 2 rolls. The gyoza is a must. We tried the spring roll sampler, it included lobster and spring roll. The New Orleans roll is also a must! The rainbow roll is usually a safe bet roll for us so we typically get that. I'd skip ordering the martini since the mango flavor was artificial. The waitress always asks if you'd like extra sauce, she doesn't play, she brought us all sorts of sauces. The customer service is amazing we will continue to return.

Very inventive rolls and an extensive election that includes grilled items and Vietnamese food. The surf and turf roll was full of smoky flavor. It was different from what we expected but great. The owner was very kind and very much wanted to make sure we were happy and taken care of. The ambience reminds me of something out of a Real Housewives of Orange County episode-amusing.

A sushi lover's dream! We came here on a last minute whim. For starters, we had the beef tataki and trio Carpaccio. The photos can practically speak for themselves but I will say that sear IS perfection! Also, have you ever seen thick cuts like this? Not me. Not ever. It's crazy! For the main entrees, we got the salmon box, the love boat, and 7pc omakase. If you're wondering what omakase means it's a Japanese saying for "I'll leave it up to you, chef". While each sushi course was imaginative and tasty it left me wanting more tbh... more citrus, more sate maybe?! But hey, for the cool price of $19.99, it's a steal! Everything was unbelievably fresh! We'll definitely be back.. just, next time I'll pass on the salmon box and miso soup.

To be totally honest, we didn't decide to come here for dinner until we got to our first intended restaurant and the wait was 45 minutes. I didn't find out about this place until I quickly got on yelp and looked for a nearby sushi place to go to instead. The food here was decent; I wouldn't say that it amazed me in any way really but it wasn't bad at all. We started out with the egg roll sampler and I'm not totally sure that I could tell which one was the lobster and which was the crawfish egg roll but again, still tasty. We got a complimentary bowl of noodle salad and I loved that. The salmon avocado roll was good as well but the crispy scallop roll (forgive me for forgetting the name and I can't find it on the menu pictures) had a little too much lemon zest on it for my liking. I probably wouldn't get it again but I wouldn't let that stop me from coming to Nobuko again either. The teppanyaki was also good but they cooked the scallops in a sort of Cajun sauce and again, not bad but probably just a little too strong for me and not what I was expecting of that. Although I didn't love the food there, the service was pretty great. You can tell that it's a family owned restaurant and the chef came around the tables to make sure that everyone's food was good and asked us if we needed anything. Our server was a little soft spoken but that's hardly a complaint since he was still very nice and accommodating. All in all, this place didn't wow me like I had hoped but it's still worth coming to eat here!

Since my usual "go to" sushi place, Tennou, is doing take out only, I ended up here for the dine-in sushi experience. I got the New Orleans roll, the salmon roll, the tuna roll and a Philly roll. All of the food was great. I've been here a few times and the service is pretty good and, although I wish the staff was better about wearing masks, I felt safe because the tables were distant from each other. The restaurant itself is huge and gorgeous, and has been totally renovated from when it was Parrot Pete's. I'm not sure if this would be my first pick for Westbank sushi, but it did the job. I'd like to return and try their ramen!

I came here for dinner one evening and ordered a couple cosmo martinis - delicious! They gave us complimentary noodles (which I thought was very nice). Also ordered the scallops dinner where you can order a side protein for a fraction of the price. The Surf N Turf roll was so good, I highly recommend it. The staff was very attentive and polite. They were courteous and friendly. At the end of our dinner, the owner came out and greeted us and asked about our experience. They are still in their soft opening and the grand opening is March 30th. read more

Ordered the po boy roll which came with all cooked seafood and all of the seafood was old. I couldn't eat it. The imitation crab even smelled like old fish. I have had stomach issues for 3 days now & I'm pregnant. I also ordered the teriyaki sizzling chicken. It was so gross. The chicken had no seasoning. Couldn't eat that either. read more

I give this place a one star because they were rude to myself and my fiancé. We arrived and was the only quest at the time. We ordered our food. A Caucasian group of three came in ordered their food. The waiter and waitress catered to them and brought them their order before us. Twenty minutes passed when another Caucasian couple came and they catered to them as well. They too got their food before us. My fiancé was very upset as we were getting up to leave they brought our food COLD!!!! and we had never gotten our drinks we ordered but everyone else did. I came here for dinner last night. I was really hoping to like this place because it was my first time. I am a very patient person so I didn't mind the long wait for the food but My experience was spoiled due to lousy customer service. They seemed to be very short handed and the server was rude and she rushed us in the middle of sentences cutting us off. The manager's attitude also was not okay. We were ready to leave and we had only just ordered our food. We only stayed for the hopes that the food would be worth it. I am very disappointed with this restaurant- I will not be returning. read more

Wanted to try the new kid on the block. Found the location nice but with only 3 tables full tonight it was loud. Can only imagine a busy night. Service was good but a little slow (under staffed). Sushi Roll was falling apart on the plate. The food in general was ok to good. Hate to say it but based on price and taste We see no reason not to continue to go to our regular place. Do hope some things change so that they can make it. read more

This is my second time at the restaurant and it makes me sad to see the bad reviews but most of them seem to be when they first open! I would say give them a try this place is really good and it's hard to keep good places on the westbank. If we think about it this has been a area that's always changing and I would be sad to see this place leaves. The bubble teas are good and as well the sushi and noodles! I would definitely recommend to come here and try it! Both times services was great and the atmosphere is nice we got to eat on the couches! read more

Nobuko is definitely my go-to sushi restaurant on the westbank. The service is always so fast and the food is delicious!! I always order the salmon poke bowl which is amazing. It has a spicy, smoky flavor! Portions are great too. I've also tried the burning man roll and the New Orleans roll which were both full of flavor as well! The food was good but the service was very poor. We had dinner Tuesday night and it was not very busy at all. The waiter was very impatient with everything. Awful food. Great server and super friendly people. The food is not worth the wait. An hour for a Togo order for my boyfriend and I with only 2 tables in the restaurant at about 12am. Pathetic and inexcusable. The first time I came here my experience was the same as most recently - thought I'd give them another try to see if they'd improve but I was let down yet again. Your menu is too big, maybe that's why the food isn't the best. If you guys cut down the menu by more then half and actually work on perfecting just a few items, this restaurant would actually do well. read more

I came here because one of my fave sushi places nearby was doing take out only and I wanted to dine in. I should have just eaten in my car. The shrimp and vegetable tempura were delicious, however my Nola roll did not taste very fresh. I actually wanted to spit out my very first bite, but refrained. In an attempt to be polite about the situation I told the manager I simply did not like it. She then told me that next time she can not pay for me to not know what I am ordering. Excuse me?! I have been eating sushi since I was in middle school- I know what I am ordering! AND I have been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years- addressing an issue like that was highly unprofessional and needless to say there will not be a next time. Hopefully for the rest of you the food and service will be better in the future. read more

Was told this is the same ownership as Sakura who used to be on manhattan in the same area. Always heard great things about Sakura so gave them a try. I checked the menu out and was excited to see Poke Bowls on the menu since there isn't anywhere on the Westbank yet to get a great Poke bowl. I ordered the spicy tuna and subbed the rice for mixed greens. Both days I got a huge, fresh bowl with quality ingredients. Today the order was wrong when I picked it up but the manager jumped quickly to correct it. Give them a chance, they are still working out the kinks but are happy to make you happy! read more

Came in and asked if we could have a table outside because we had our dog with us and the host didn't hesitate to say yes. They immediately put a table together for us and even gave our dog a bowl of water and refills! Service was perfect and would definitely come back again. read more

I am happy that a new sushi restaurant has popped up. Especially one with some outdoor seating! The decor and vibe of the place is a little strange- there's no real theme and it's kind of just a mixture of "stuff". Aside from that- our service was prompt and attentive. The edamame was a too salty for my taste. It was covering the entire length as if they submerged it in sea salt. Gyoza was delicious and fried nicely. Spring rolls to go were equally very tasty. The sushi could likely use better construction. It was kind of falling apart but aside from that- tasty. I would say brushing up on the skills of the chef could give an extra star. The interior contents of the rolls were not dispersed evenly through each piece. My Philadelphia roll has huge chunks of cream cheese in some and then none in other pieces. Small technicalities that can easily be fixed. Will revisit again :) read more

My absolute FAVORITE sushi restaurant in the city. Westbank or Eastbank. I have NEVER had a bad meal and the only downside is that I now crave Nobuko every single day but I have to settle for once or twice a week. First off the staff is so friendly. My boyfriend and I have formed a friendship with the servers, sushi chefs, and owners. They are fast and friendly. Now as for the food, they have rolls you could only dream of. My personal favorites are the Louisiana roll and the Scallop ceviche roll. However, the poke bowls, salads, sushi pizza, sushi tacos, are all amazing. You won't find a bad dish here. If you are on the fence about trying Nobuko, do yourself a favor and GO. You won't regret it! read more

Went there during their soft open and I was the only one in there. It was a great experience the owner spoke with me and he was super nice. The sushi was on point. I had a sashimi salad which was extremely tasty and fresh. I did have their tempura fried cheesecake which was a total treat. It was a little frozen in the middle but you can get over that. I did order a gin and tonic and yes it was good although (and i am not complaining) a little strong but with a little more tonic I was good. Overall a good place to go, I will be back there soon. Keep an eye out for the official opening night the owner shared he will have a band. Overall great food and great people. read more

Customer service was beyond mediocre, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this establishment to anyone who enjoys sushi. For anyone who likes to dine outside, don't do it guys - the owner makes you pay the bill before eating, In my case - before having one sip of my freaking drink! I got the noboku lobster roll plus a Cajun Poboy roll which tasted like shit; absolute shit. Tasted like plastic and the crawfish had a very distinct off taste to it. I will admit though, addition to the two special rolls I ordered, I also got there Vietnamese ice coffee & lychee flavored tea which is actually pretty good but that alone does not change how overprice and underwhelmed this shit hole of a restaurant is. If it wasn't for the sweet Lady, Paula, which I'm assuming is the assistant manager I would have gave this whack ass restaurant a 1 star. Save your money, and time guys read more

Absolutely Phenomenal!!! Food was 10 out of 10! I had the tiger roll and the fish was so fresh that it literately melted in my mouth. The size of the roll was quite large and I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. I also had the beef teriyaki roll! Definitely a new personal favorite! The steak was so tender and flavorful! Outstanding service here! They were very patient with all of my many questions, and the owner came over during our meal and talked to our child and even gave him a complimentary ice cream!
