It's been over 7 years since I dined in at Nobuko, but my friend and I decided to come back since our original plan to go to Sushi Masa was changed because of the high traffic. Glad to say that I enjoyed my time back. The inside decor was quiet, but still neat and clean. It was simple but still aesthetically kept. Our server was excellent and really funny! He was patient with us when we had questions. I ordered their Omakase Roll ($20.95). First off, the rolls are HUGE! The taste was good, but the rolls kept falling into pieces when I try to pick it up. Overall, I had a good experience back to Nobuko. I know there's a lot of sushi options in the Westbank, but I'd say it's a decent sushi spot in the Manhattan area. read more

Ok so they are open until 11pm. If you have ever gone to a late-ish movie around here you have discovered that that is a rare quality, so bonus points there. Restaurant was appealing and good service. Howeva - the sushi was just like a C. You know what I'm talking about - that kind of sushi that looks very appealing and (when you first start to eat it) seems pretty decent but then as you go on you realize all the rolls and rice and seaweed have been made like two days before and it's all been sitting around in a refrigerato. And then, when you eat it, it's just sort of rubbery and intractable. It's not really "bad food" or "inedible" but you know that every other bite you eat is slowly eroding your taste for sushi away. You know if you eat too much of it you'll just never eat sushi again because your idea of it has will have become so mediocre. (I will say that the sashimi seemed very good quality aside from the clam, whose rubbery flaps were basically unchewable) Also, they put that abominable Snow Crab Salad in the rolls which is, to me, a low quality disgusting filler that I find insulting. I hate having to comb through the roll list hardly finding any without it. But if you are into that so it be. read more

I ordered the sushi boat from Nobuku and overall had a really enjoyable experience. Food: The sushi boat was fresh, well-presented, and generous with portions. The fish tasted clean and flavorful, and the variety made it great for sharing or sampling different rolls in one order. Everything was prepared neatly and looked just as good as it tasted. Definitely one of the better sushi options in the area. Service: Service was polite and efficient. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, and the order came out in a reasonable time. They were helpful and made sure everything was correct, which added to the overall positive experience. Ambiance: The restaurant has a calm, relaxed atmosphere. It's clean, comfortable, and a good spot for a casual dinner or a laid-back night out. Not overly fancy, but nice enough to enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Overall: Nobuku is a solid choice for sushi in Harvey. Good food, friendly service, and a pleasant environment. The sushi boat was worth it, and I would definitely return for another visit. read more

I'll be honest, I walked into Nobuko a little skeptical. It was our first time there, and the menu is huge. Usually when a place tries to do everything, it doesn't do anything that well. That had me nervous. I was very wrong. I ordered the sushi boat, and it came out loaded with all kinds of sushi and sashimi. Not only was the presentation beautiful, but everything tasted fresh and spot on. The chef even came out to check on us. We tipped him and told him how impressive the arrangement was because it truly deserved the praise. It looked great and tasted even better. Our waiter was also great. He was the only one working, but he stayed on top of everything, moved fast, and was still friendly the whole time. No attitude, no rushing us, just solid service. Between the food, the presentation, and the service, this place exceeded expectations. I will absolutely be back, and yes, I'm ordering that sushi boat again. read more

3 stars for taste, location and ambiance. I tried the tuna nachos but I didn't realize they were served on Doritos chips which tainted the taste, and I was not in the mood for American junk food. If it was served with plan tortilla chips or wontons I think I would have been better. The sushi roll had way too much rice for my liking but tasted okay. The service and food were fast so no complaints there. read more

Food was good. But we had ordered another squid salad and waiter complained about us ordering one by one he said. I mean we are literally paying extra for something. It felt very awkward right after that interaction. That was my 3rd time coming to the restaurant. Never again! read more

I picked this up as takeout so I can't speak on the dine in experience. The staff I did encounter were very polite. I ordered the salmon box, it was only $8 before tax and tip. I was pleasantly surprised by their "dressed up" version of a standard salmon box by adding avocado underneath the snow crab and the crunchy seaweed on top. It made it so much more tasty. Plus the pieces of salmon on top were very thick! And it came with the perfect amount of sauce on top as well as along the long edge of the to-go box so you could easily slide each piece thru the sauce before taking a bite :) read more

Visited solo on a Monday evening. The restaurant was quite large but was very clean and inviting. The server was attentive and visited me multiple times. I was impressed how well prepared all the food items were. I tried the crab puffs which were delicious. You receive 5 puffs that are wrapped in thin wonton wrappers. They were much lighter and way less greasy than any other place that I've visited. The vegetable tempera had a tasty, crunchy batter, again, very light as well. Finally I had the chef special Omakase Sushi roll. Wow! The fish was finely sliced and fresh. I admit that it wasn't exactly my cup a tea being as it had both surf and turf I believe (my fault) but I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors. There was a gentle sweetness from the fruit and fruit sauces that paired wonderfully with the punchy house made spicy mayo and creamy sauce. You could easily tell they weren't store bought by the textures. Prices are fair the quality. Highly recommend I will definitely be visiting again. read more

This restaurant has a awful smell as you walk in that should have been my cue to run I knew it was a bad sign when I met my gfs for lunch hour but restaurant was empty never a good sign sushi WAS HORRIBLE The rice was way too gooey and the the rolls were thick not in a good way all rice and NOT FRESH seafood Very disappointing will never return or recommend this place read more

I went here today for lunch with my friends. One of them suggested the spot and I love sushi so it was right up my alley. The menu is extensive so it took me a while to decide what to eat. I ordered the crawfish egg rolls and tiger roll. The crawfish egg rolls was stuffed with crab and crawfish. I devoured them so quickly I didn't get a chance to take a picture lol. The roll I picked was the tiger roll (raw). It has spicy tuna, white fish, and salmon with spicy Mayo sauce. The size/portions are huge, you will not leave hungry. I think this will be my go to spot for sushi when I'm at work. Definitely a must try! read more

First off, I would like to say that this place has really nice people. Service is a bit slow, so if you're super hungry or in a rush, you're just out of luck. The menu is pretty big with a large variety of Asian fusion items. I didn't really have any favorites from what we ordered. Also was not a huge fan of how the fish was cut. I probably would not recommend this place for sushi, and only recommend if you just want a spot to hang out for a late night eat. read more

We've gone twice in two days; second time brought a friend. The rolls are HUGE. You get your moneys worth. The pho is "a solid 7 or 8 out of 10" coming from my Vietnamese buddy we brought along. Recommended by friends to come here. Appetizers were good, however my wife ordered hibachi and took a single bite from it and it was terrible. Asked the server if we could replace it, had very rude supposed manager come over and said she couldn't exchange the plate because it would cost her money. I promise not replacing my nasty plate will cost you more money because I will NEVER return here. The salmon on the hibachi looked like frozen filets, and was arguing for $20 when that plate probably cost her $5. DONT COME HERE read more

This is our sushi spot on the West Bank. My husband and I treat ourselves to a sushi date night here every once and awhile and the service is always excellent. The rolls are huge so we narrowed down what to order. We order 2 appetizers and 2 rolls. The gyoza is a must. We tried the spring roll sampler, it included lobster and spring roll. The New Orleans roll is also a must! The rainbow roll is usually a safe bet roll for us so we typically get that. I'd skip ordering the martini since the mango flavor was artificial. The waitress always asks if you'd like extra sauce, she doesn't play, she brought us all sorts of sauces. The customer service is amazing we will continue to return. read more

Absolutely Phenomenal!!! Food was 10 out of 10! I had the tiger roll and the fish was so fresh that it literately melted in my mouth. The size of the roll was quite large and I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. I also had the beef teriyaki roll! Definitely a new personal favorite! The steak was so tender and flavorful! Outstanding service here! They were very patient with all of my many questions, and the owner came over during our meal and talked to our child and even gave him a complimentary ice cream! It's hard to find such good food along with outstanding service these days! But this place has it all. The broth for the udon noodles was oddly sweet and when I had some questions on prep, the waiter couldn't answer them. The waiter also kept asking us to make room in the table for him to put down plates, but the reason there wasn't room was because he hadn't bussed the tables. Very awkward. The batter on the tempura veggies was more similar to the type of beer batter you see on fish and chips. Not a fan. read more

Very inventive rolls and an extensive election that includes grilled items and Vietnamese food. The surf and turf roll was full of smoky flavor. It was different from what we expected but great. A sushi lover's dream! We came here on a last minute whim. For starters, we had the beef tataki and trio Carpaccio. The photos can practically speak for themselves but I will say that sear IS perfection! Also, have you ever seen thick cuts like this? Not me. Not ever. It's crazy! For the main entrees, we got the salmon box, the love boat, and 7pc omakase. If you're wondering what omakase means it's a Japanese saying for "I'll leave it up to you, chef". While each sushi course was imaginative and tasty it left me wanting more tbh... more citrus, more sate maybe?! But hey, for the cool price of $19.99, it's a steal! Everything was unbelievably fresh! We'll definitely be back.. just, next time I'll pass on the salmon box and miso soup. read more

To be totally honest, we didn't decide to come here for dinner until we got to our first intended restaurant and the wait was 45 minutes. I didn't find out about this place until I quickly got on yelp and looked for a nearby sushi place to go to instead. The food here was decent; I wouldn't say that it amazed me in any way really but it wasn't bad at all. We started out with the egg roll sampler and I'm not totally sure that I could tell which one was the lobster and which was the crawfish egg roll but again, still tasty. We got a complimentary bowl of noodle salad and I loved that. The salmon avocado roll was good as well but the crispy scallop roll (forgive me for forgetting the name and I can't find it on the menu pictures) had a little too much lemon zest on it for my liking. I probably wouldn't get it again but I wouldn't let that stop me from coming to Nobuko again either. The teppanyaki was also good but they cooked the scallops in a sort of Cajun sauce and again, not bad but probably just a little too strong for me and not what I was expecting of that. Although I didn't love the food there, the service was pretty great. You can tell that it's a family owned restaurant and the chef came around the tables to make sure that everyone's food was good and asked us if we needed anything. Our server was a little soft spoken but that's hardly a complaint since he was still very nice and accommodating. All in all, this place didn't wow me like I had hoped but it's still worth coming to eat here! read more

Since my usual "go to" sushi place, Tennou, is doing take out only, I ended up here for the dine-in sushi experience. I got the New Orleans roll, the salmon roll, the tuna roll and a Philly roll. All of the food was great. I've been here a few times and the service is pretty good and, although I wish the staff was better about wearing masks, I felt safe because the tables were distant from each other. The restaurant itself is huge and gorgeous, and has been totally renovated from when it was Parrot Pete's. I'm not sure if this would be my first pick for Westbank sushi, but it did the job. I'd like to return and try their ramen! read more

How am I just trying this place? It was my first time dining here today and I was blown away of how delicious and FRESH this place is. I think it's my new spot on the westbank. The menu offers a good selection of different items. There's even bubble tea and pho. The items we ordered: -Wintermelon + milktea: yum. -Baked mussels: delish. love that they put snowcrab in their mussels -Albacore tuna sashimi: very very generous cuts that tasted so fricken fresh -Philly roll -Crunchy roll -Salmon skin roll: hella crunchy just how i like it -Westbank roll -Scallop Ceviche roll: this is the roll I was coming for. And it did not disappoint. It was soaked with a citrus flavor. Mmmm. -Tiger roll -Wicked 13 roll -Scallop carpaccio: SO DELICIOUS AHHHH. my favorite item here. it's not listed on the menu but if you order it, they will make it. Compliments to the sushi chef. He was very friendly. He even came by my table to check up on us. He definitely knows how to roll good sushi. I'm very impressed with this establishment and I will be returning back! EXCELLENT. Excellent food, service, employees, hospitality. My husband and I were wanting to treat ourselves to good sushi and we came across this place. This place is BEYOND amazing- literally. I wish I could rate this place a 6 star. The food is so underpriced for such complex food, and the customer service is great! Unlike most Japanese restaurants, the udon is not bland and has countless ingredients which varies from crab, fish cakes, flakes, etc. and is sooo cheap compared to the taste and complexity!! Honestly, this place is so underrated it makes me confused. Adding on, the bathrooms are extremely clean and basically everything on the menu is tasty. This restaurant is a must-go-to. read more

We went today for dinner after reading so many good reviews. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I would give 5 starts but the staffs didn't wear mask during this sensitive time. We decided to order the most popular dishes based on reviews. Scallop Carpacio: MUST!!! SO DELISHhhhh. Very delightful with citrus and pepper touch, creamy and melted in your mouth. Salmon skin salad: I order this dish at every sushi places but this place gets the best decoration. Portion is huge for $6. Great appetizer. Flavor is great but decoration makes it extra delicious. Surf and turf: ok y'all needs to order this roll. I did medium rare for steak and it was so good. Ingredients are well combined. Great decoration again. Filet mignon roll: wow!!! Meat is tender, juicy, so creamy Must try dishes here. Squid steak is fair, not impressive but not bad either. It's because i had the best squid steak so I have more expectations for it. read more

I ordered takeout here and was seriously disappointed in the quality of my food. It was very bland, the rolls had way too much rice and were very poorly rolled. I ended up scraping off enough rice from my rolls to make two small bowls of rice. I gave them three stars and not less because this was my opinion of their takeout and not actual dine-in. I saw that their menu is huge but that is not necessarily always a good thing. I'm not sure if I would want to order from here again. Also, the lady who gave me my takeout order was not wearing a mask, which was surprising since every other person in the food industry is during this time. read more

I wanted to get several of the cheaper rolls, but when I started asking my server what was in the different rolls he had no idea and made no effort to go and find out for me.
