He suggested design improvements that made our kitchen even better than we had envisioned, and we're so glad we trusted his expertise. One of his ideas was to create decorative medallions in our back patio to replace broken tile inserts rather than simply replacing the damaged tiles. The result is stunning and has become one of our favorite features. He also suggested replacing our front entry with the same Dekton material we used in the kitchen, tying everything together beautifully. It looks absolutely fabulous. On the few occasions we chose to stick with our original plan, he graciously respected our decision and executed it perfectly.Vlad and his team took tremendous pride in their work, paid close attention to every detail, treated our home with care, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Other companies either wanted us to sign a contract right away or didn't provide design services at all. We chose Bora because they came to our house, made measurements right away, listened to our ideas and created a design without making us sign a contract. It really helped us visualize what we wanted. One thing I also appreciated was the fact that they came professionally dressed in their Bora Construction uniforms. This is not a big detail, but it shows they have pride in what they do. Other general contractors showed up in jeans and a t-shirt. Throughout the project, the project manager at Bora was very communicative and gave us a heads up on how the project was going. When they found a water pipe and HVAC inside the wall we wanted to knockdown, they developed a way to reroute the plumbing and HVAC on the same day and without the ridiculous cost overrun. They basically charged me for just the materials. It's this courtesy that they showed throughout the project. They did such a great job, we asked them to do the same cabinetry and flooring on the powder room. It wasn't in the original estimate and timeline, but they added it to the scope of the project and still kept their delivery date. Wow! The quality is top notch. The engineered vinyl tile looks beautiful and the stacked stone on the fireplace looks absolutely gorgeous. They made expert suggestions like adding more recessed lighting to the dining area and living room, which makes our home so much warmer and brighter. I have pictures of before and after. I'll be posting those if I can. We are pleased with our choice to go with Bora Construction. Oh, one more thing. The price was cheaper than the competitors by more than 10%. I know this for a fact because we gave the same specifications and ideas to two other companies. The other companies suggested similar materials and methods, but charged more. We coordinated with him to have our hot tub hard wired upon delivery. He came days before the delivery date, on time, to see what the situation was and what all he might need, gave a fair estimate, spelled out possible reasons it might be more, and explained everything in terms I understood. He returned the day of delivery to get things rolling before the hot tub was delivered and kept me appraised of his progress, including the snag that he warned me could happen (old, underground conduit inhibiting the pulling of wire). He finished up, I filled and heated up the hot tub and was in it the next night. Plus he followed up a few days later to make sure everything was good. Bottom line, he was professional, courteous, on time and an all around good guy.
