In August of 2017 we awoke to a flooded kitchen and basement due to a failed refrigerator ice machine, resulting in an unplanned, full kitchen remodel. This project was our first major remodel, and we had very little experience working with contractors. We interviewed 11 contractor and construction companies and ultimately selected Bora and Co Construction. Why? Because Corneliu (owner and project manager at Bora and Co) was patient, empathetic, and listened to our needs, taking the extra time to explain aspects of the project and estimate we didn't understand. Bora and Co was the only contractor we interviewed that actually took the time to draft up drawings for free, and provide a detailed, line-item estimate of our remodeling project. Once the project began, Bora and Co were professional, on-time, and most important to us, communicated what work was done at the end of the day, and what work would be attempted for the following day. We were in constant communication with Corneliu and his team, and I felt extremely comfortable with every step of the project. Our kitchen remodel was relatively simple and straight forward, but change orders were handled verbally and efficiently. In the end, final cost came in nicely under the original estimated budget. In terms of timing, Corneliu and his team finished one day after the promised completion date, which was amazing. I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Bora and Co. After months of planning on our renovation which included quotes from different contractors, we chose Bora & Co Construction. Cornel, with his courteous and genuine attitude helped solidify our decision to remodel our kitchen. First time we met Cornel, we had this instant rapport and trust that it felt like we've known each other for a while. He was patient with accommodating our different suggestions on the floor plan. Bora Construction recently remodeled our kitchen, and we are 100 % happy with the job they did. They helped with the design, which involved taking out the wall between the kitchen and dining room and reconstructing part of an exterior wall. They found ways to give us more storage, which we badly needed. I am the sort of person who has to consider all my options before making up my mind, which can really slow down the decision-making process. Yet they were patient with us throughout the process. (And we're happy with all our choices!) They had no problem adding under-cabinet lighting, a circulating fan, and a pull-out pantry shelf when it occurred to us that we needed those things. We are very happy with the kitchen remodel done by Bora. It took them about 2.5 weeks to completely take out and replace the flooring, cabinets, counter top and back splash, appliances. We were particularly appreciative of the advice we got on flooring: a product that looks like hardwood/laminate but is vinyl so will stand up to kitchen use. The crew was skillful. They re-configured the pantry cabinet, doing great carpentry work to fit it around a chimney flue. At the end Bora honored a few special requests, small things but beyond the scope of the agreement: an extra pantry shelf (again, cut to fit), dimmer switch on the ceiling lights, panels to cover some undersides of cabinets.
