Home fries need to be spectacular to impress me, and these were truly out of this world. I could eat them every day! I have no complaints about anything on my plate. The scrambled eggs were perfectly prepared (I asked for them well-done) and of course the home fries were the star of the show. My latte was also very good, and these mug it was served in was so cute. I tried a bite of my friend's chocolate chip waffle, which was recommended to us by a coworker who said it was the best on the island. I can't say I have tried any other waffles on the island, but this one was quite delicious and it would be difficult to top it. Even though it was busy late on Saturday morning, my party of two was seated right away. Sure, you're sitting close to the people next to you, but I do not mind. The place is well-decorated and has a pleasantly clean vibe about it. I am looking forward to trying dinner here as well in the near future!

A great breakfast. Old school. Diner-style grill restaurant. Everything was made to order and they offered very good and complicated breakfasts: avocados, lobster, and poached this that and the other. We heard about the doughnuts. Never had one. In September of '24 the Inky reported that the Downyflake was to permanently close. So we made a day trip just to try the doughnuts. In fact, we did this in October the weekend before they closed. Off of Straight Wharf, a taxi ride out, bought a few doughnuts, uber'ed back to town, got some coffee from The Hub, and walked and sat on our bench on Easy Street over looking the Wharf Rat Club. Heaven. Everyone should experience Nantucket. I will say, we were lucky and happy to experience the doughnuts. The doughnuts, yes, are still sticking to my ribs a year later. More oil than the Exxon Valdez. We will miss you old friend. Even though the rumor is a new one will open... someday.

My sister who has lived on ACK for 30+ years loves their doughnuts - and yes they are VERY good. My favs are the chocolate frosted and the apple cider (in season). These really are small doughnuts - so you can eat 2 without too much guilt. I was craving some linguica sausage - I grew up eating it on pizzas and breakfast sandwiches in the summer in New Beford, MA. I saw that the menu had breakfast sandwiches (with your choice of meat) - Unfortunately they waitress informed me that linguica was not an option on this sandwich - which it really should be!. I opted for a side of the linguini and a english muffin to craft my own sandwich (AND - Bonus to save room for a doughnut or 2) It was tasty - but not the linguica of my childhood that oozed red grease, this one was pretty lean and more dense than I remember. I still ate every bite. The highlight was the doughnut dessert, these have not changed in 20 years.

This was just the beginning of a dining experience that included family recipes and culinary traditions. We started with a delicious roasted cauliflower dish with almonds and raisins, grilled Romaine served over beet hummus, roasted beets with feta and strawberries and their signature hummus with Persian pickles. Every dish with colorful and full of flavor. We also had Merza Ghassemi which is an incredible eggplant spread served with the most incredible Barbari bread. For our entree, we shared the Chelow kebabs. A beautiful silver platter is filled with grilled and spiced meats -chicken, beef, and lamb- and perfectly grilled vegetables. The rice was also flavored with fresh herbs. There is a spice jar on the table of sumac, a Persian staple, which was suggested to enhance the flavors of the food. Everything was delicious and served with care. The staff is eager to help us experience and explore the flavors and food combinations. For dessert, we shared the best baklava that I have ever tasted. It was so flaky and filled with honey and nuts. Lemon Press is a wonderful dinner experience and should not be missed. All their meals are fabulous but there is something unique about sitting in candlelight, enjoying a Mediterranean dining experience with your friends and family that is truly special.

Just a nice, artisan dish akin to something you'd get in New Bedford or Fall River. Fantastic. 5-Stars. Now their lobster roll. Imagine a hot dog, OK, and now imagine one of those little Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage links for size comparison. The volume of finely shredded lobster meat, that was also warm in that hot dog roll was smaller than the Jimmy Dean link. 0-Stars. My recommendations for a "good" lobster roll is to go anywhere else on island. I'd recommend Sayle's Seafood, The Nantucket Lobster Trap or Stubby's. In fact, I'd just stay clear of the Club Car altogether, it is one of those places for the self-focused New York / Miami new [vulgar] money jet-set that treat the island like their play-thing... you know, you see their empty beer cans in the morning around town. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

The service is always on point (Bridget always takes care of us--she's genuinely so nice), and the food never misses: the lobster Cobb salad is fresh, loaded, and perfectly balanced, and the croque madame is pure comfort (savory, cheesy, and even better with the egg). And don't sleep on dinner, Club Car turns it up even more, and their steak frites is the best!
