I was honestly surprised when I saw some of the negative reviews because I've been coming here for years and have never personally had any major issues. Then I realized it's probably because my visits are usually pretty simple: I'm typically just stopping by to grab a dozen of their amazing bagels and some pre-packed cream cheese before heading out. That being said, reading through some of the complaints, it's clear there are areas where improvements could be made. For what I come here for, though, this place has always delivered. It's always busy in the morning but the staff is quick to take orders, there's plenty of parking, and it's in a very good neighborhood. I hadn't visited since Covid, but decided I needed another breakfast option on the hill. So glad I did. I forgot how good the bagels are here at Noah's. So many varieties of bagels, freshly made every morning, onsite. I prefer to order ahead, on the phone app. My first visit back, I ordered the egg white breakfast bagel sandwich and small coffee. Their pickup for app orders are in the back. Bags are taped closed so no one tampers with them. My breakfast sandwich was delicious. I highly recommend it. The coffee isn't bad either. It's pretty good and strong. I felt the caffeine. The coffee station only offers either half and half or a 2% milk option. No alternative creamer options here. On my second visit, I ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with shmear, which is cream cheese and a fruity cereal pop. My bagel was delicious and perfectly toasted. I really enjoy the bagels and coffee here. There's a steady stream of customers, and staff are pretty efficient. There are a couple tables outdoors and a couple tables indoors. I want to take a moment and update the very lengthy review I originally wrote about this location of Noah's Bagels all those years ago. :-) This location has remained a great place to get bagels on the hill. It's still probably the best place to get bagels if you either live in or are visiting the PV area. Over the years, very little has changed at this location since they opened. It's still basically the same set up, you walk in, order your bagel or your whatever at the counter, they get it ready for you, they give it to you, and you're either out the door or sitting down at one of the few tables they have. Speaking of tables, they have a couple of interior tables. These are great if it's raining outside or it's really warm or something like that. They also have their long-standing two or three outdoor tables. This is where I always prefer to sit. That way you get to enjoy whatever it is you are eating in the open air. I will say, however, that it is very common that a group of elderly people seem to congregate at these tables. So, like when I was there today, they actually took one of the tables, moved it way over by CVS, took all of the chairs, and sat down to have their powwow. This being stated, you can generally get seated at one of these few outdoor tables. If not, the next best bet is to take your items to-go. As is the case with many food service businesses, the staff here continually change. From my experience, over the many years I've come to this location, the staff is always nice, and they do their job very well. In terms of food, obviously what they offer is revolved around bagels. But, more than just bagels, they do some really great sandwiches, egg orientated presentations, and, of course, a few other bakery items. They're all really good. Plus, as you would expect, they do have a few drinks, and, of course, coffee, which is always pretty good. As modern technology has taken hold, they now also offer in-app ordering. I really suggest you get the app, then you can order ahead, and your order will most likely be ready and waiting for you when you arrive. Yes, sometimes it takes a little while, and you do have to wait if you order online, if they're really busy. But, overall, it's currently the best way to order. Plus, if you order via the app, you build up points and you always get all of these freebies. Whether that's a free bagel, a drink, or the other things they offer, free is always fun. It's really a great way to get that little added something for going into this business. I almost feel like advertising that your establishment has New York quality food is false advertising unless it's really in New York. My bagel was NOT New York quality, however, I know that good bagel places are hard to come by in California so, I'm definitely saving this place the next time I crave one. The service lagged a bit for nobody being in line, but, once I got to the register, the lady who helped me was very friendly and made eye contact with me. It's unfortunate because my family and I really like their bagels, but honestly not enough to deal with the customer service. I went on a Saturday morning around 9 a.m. and felt unwelcome right away. There were several people behind the counter just standing around, making eye contact, but no one said anything. I have been here a few times at this location in RPV and also the one on Larchmont in LA. I love these bagels, they're the ones based on the NYC bagels. I ordered today, like usual, one turkey and avocado club, and one lox and cream cheese. These are delicious, chewy, and flavorful bagels. They also have fresh bagels to go with your favorite cream cheese spreads. I have also ordered these along with fresh brewed coffees and juices. The servers are great, have a great attitude, and are friendly. The counter can get very busy at times, but today was pretty slow. I hope this location gets busier again. Come here very often. They do have their ups and downs, but one thing is their bagels even by themself if not toasted is really good and taste fresh. Their chai tea is my FAVORITE go to drink. Their coffee is alright(if you like it black then it's pretty good), but I prefer plain than their flavored ones and I love sweets. Here are their pros and cons below. RATING(S): Rate overall(1-10):8(AS OF BAGELS AND DESSERTS) Rate customer service:5(Due to either them being in a moody mood that day or just the place being too busy and had to wait a 30 minutes(for just my two bagels with smear while people who just got there got theirs right away).They do tend to forget your orders but say it's ready, but overall their food is pretty darn good and drinks and that's ALL mainly that matter. Pros: Bagels are amazing, Chai Tea is a MUST(Not authentic,but really good), Desserts are good as of Strawberry Cream, Cinnamon Rolls(don't ask for them to warm up just do it at home or it'll melt melt), and coffee is alright. Sad to watch this place die a slow death. The bagels are still great, and the valiant staff do their best. But over the last few years the owners have just given up on maintenance. First the beverage fridge died and was not replaced. The pictures are off the walls. The indoor seating is gone. What's left is worn out. Even the selection of bagels gets smaller: no seasonal items (pumpkin, etc). No more gourmet apple bagels. Even the sourdough bagels are gone. YUM Except when I went home and opened up my sandwich, I got... a Breakfast LT egg sandwich. LOL The workers seem nice, so I really don't understand why they couldn't just tell me they ran out of bacon? At least that way I could've decided if I wanted some other protein option. The Parmesan Mayo on it was there but then they also added actual unmelted Parmesan?? That s*** was kinda gross unmelted, I think workers are not very well trained here. And they folded my bagel like a taco I'm kind of mad but also it's so bad it's comedic... Just make your bagel at home, I've learned my lesson LOL the challah bread is just so good though! I asked about the rewards program on my receipt. The employee didn't know anything about it. She was clearly disinterested in talking to me since I didn't tip. First off the 3 stars are because the bagels and schmear are delicious. But the service and cleanliness of the place could be better..that's for sure. The biggest ongoing issue is that they get my online order wrong 9 times out of 10. I never just grab my bag and leave upon pick up. I have to check it. Even if I order at the counter there is still a chance there is either an item missing or the wrong bagel. I come here every Sunday and it's the same story. Today, my toasted bagel with schmear was neither toasted nor included schmear. It was just thrown in the bag with the other 5 bagels. I feel like this is a weird review. We came in for the first time a couple days ago and we're excited to give it a try. - The service was... lackluster. Not bad, but minimal. I don't think anyone looked me in the eyes. They were yelling across the store for help when it got busy and it was uncomfortable. - The food was really good! We both got sandwiches, mine was a lunch sandwich, and the husbands was of the breakfast variety. The chocolate chip coffee cake was amazing! - The problem. The woman who took our order repeated it back to us, so I know that wasn't the problem. Not only did they forget part of our order(the coffee cake), but both of our sandwiches were wrong, which is weird because one was just normal how they make it on the board. I asked for a different bagel(it came with plain, I wanted cheddar bacon), and I asked for cheddar cheese instead of Swiss. I got a cheddar bagel, with Swiss cheese. My husband randomly got a jalapeño bagel when that wasn't even close to what it should have been. There is no seating inside, and just a couple tables outside, so it's not really possible to stay there and eat... which means we didn't notice the sandwiches were wrong until we had driven 20 minutes back to the house. I think I would be more forgiving of this if it didn't seem to be a common problem at this location. I know she heard our correct order, as she repeated it back to us, but with nothing written down, they must have just guessed, instead of asking us again while we stood to the side waiting. I got a baker's dozen of bagels today; 4 plain, 4 pretzel, 2 onion, & 3 blueberry. I get home & open the box & see that the lady got me 2 plain, 1 pretzel, 2 onion, & EIGHT blueberry bagels. What the literal F...? Yeah, I bear some responsibility for not watching the lady as she put the bagels in the box, but to be fair, I was looking at the display case while she was pulling bagels off the rack, I did not realize that counting to 4 was going to be such a challenge for this lady. Ordered bagels from DoorDash for everyone here at my work. Delivery was fast. That's the only reason I gave them two stars. They did not follow my orders. I asked for sliced bagels because there is no knife here at work. They did not cut the bagels in half as requested on my order. They also did not give me the proper cream cheese. I ordered plain cream cheese and garden vegetable cream cheese. Who puts garden vegetable cream cheese on a chocolate chip bagel? Gross. I attempted to get help from the manager to fix the problem ( no manager available) I was offered the regional manger's information, Alex, to help in the meantime. He has been aware of the issue this entire time and still no credit back to my account. Again this is just bagels.
