I hate to pile on after reading the reviews- but I think the management isn't making an effort if the reviews sound pretty much the same as what I experienced. I've been going to this Noah's for years and I always get the same thing for myself in addition to 4 unsliced bagels to go. The lox sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie. I love it! The customer service seems generally ok actually. The only difference I've noticed is that a man who I always assumed was the owner or manager seemed negative toward whatever group of kids was working ( almost always hard). It really bothers me when managers are rude to their staff. But The lox bagel is always very good so I keep going. I dropped by at lunch today and had the strangest experience. I ordered the usual and added 2 sesame and 2 plain bagels to go. Same old, same old. I am not sure if the 2 boys and woman working today were related or not. Their grasp of English was not very good but after repeating myself several times, I thought we had made the effort to submit the order. I was told that I couldn't have a cookie ( the choc chip cookies are the bomb). I thought it was odd, but I was tired of explaining so I moved aside to wait for my order. Hmmmm - maybe they are cutting back? The worst is that I used Apple Pay, added the tip but didn't look at the total. Ugh. Then I experience an unusually long wait and notice the lady who ordered before me is not happy with the order she received after her long wait. Rut row. I finally get my order and by then the line has gotten quite long. Of course, since they didn't bag the bagels right away when I ordered ( they usually do) the kind I ordered and paid for is not available. I made another choice anyway and decided to be flexible. The bag with the sandwich seems oddly light. Ugh. When I open the bag in my car, I discover a bagel with too much cream cheese but no lox. They charged me correctly for what they interpreted as my order- but I stopped for my fav sandwich so I drag myself back into the store. Luckily I caught the woman making food at the pick up counter. After the difficult communication exchange, I offered to pay the difference and get what I originally wanted- the damn lox bagel and the cookie . Now people waiting have watched every exchange and are now laughing but I am being cordial despite the lady I'm negotiating with appears annoyed with me. I now really understand that the grasp of English is not just not there. No apology, no what can I do to resolve the error approach was offered, no agreement to let me pay the difference. They wipe off the heaping mound of cream cheese at my request and I watch her add the lox, etc. She is very light on the ingredients but at this point, I want to pay and get out of there. She turns around and slides the rewrapped lox bagel across the counter. I ask for the cookie and to pay the difference. She refused to give/sell me the cookie and had the strangest smile on her face. I ask for the manager who I'm told went for a walk. The manager should be managing this hopeless situation. I guess I need to find a new place for lox bagels. Apparently there's no one who cares about the success of this Noah's Bagels. I know I'm not doing that again. Maybe just the Pleasanton Noah's? Edit after business reply: I thought about this situation last night and what I have written. In order to run a good business, you have to support your employees. The three people there were doing their best. Between the language gap, probably a cultural difference, support from an experienced manager, and lack of training - they understandably struggled. It's not them I'm boycotting- it's the management. If you value your customers and employees and want to make a profit change something! There are lots of people who want to work in a well managed business who pays fairly. Don't apologize to every reviewer because it falls flat. read more

We are here on a work trip and decided to do Noah's as we lived here and loved it when we did. We ordered 4 coffees yesterday and only 1 of those drinks had coffee in them. The others only had hot milk. Decided to give them another chance and ordered bagels online for the office before we leave. To get the best they have to offer, get there before 8 am. Not the ideal business model. Disappoint is inevitable if you order after 8. That aside, if you can get what you want, you will not be disappointed. The rave worthy item on their menu right now are the twice baked hash-browns. OMG ...super delicious. When I asked for a new bagel sandwich she tells me to take the ingredients off that wasn't supposed to be on there instead of them making me a new one. The sandwich was also missing some ingredients. As soon as I walked in the door, I encountered an older gentleman at the register who was extremely rude. He told me to move to the other register to be helped. I requested a four-cheese bagel, and he replied, "We don't have it." However, a nice gentleman at the other register informed me that some bagels were almost ready and would be brought out soon. A lady then came out from the back and began counting the register where the older gentleman was. As customers arrived, she kept pointing to the other register instead of politely saying, "This register is closed; please go to the other register." Her constant pointing confused the customers who were standing right in front of her. When our bagels finally came out, they were very stale, and there was an excessive amount of cream cheese on them; the bagels were practically swimming in it. Went in to get a breakfast sandwich like we've done a million times. Told them I have an Avocado allergy and the manager, whose name I didn't get, said she isn't able to accommodate me. That they are worried about cross contamination, yet when i informed the employee that they have made that sandwich many times before, they still did not let me order it. After we left the counter area, I could hear the manager talking with an employee negatively about the situation and laughing as if it was a joke. I have never been refused service because of something like that or treated like that. And by the way, It's actually illegal to not let me order because you don't want to clean some extra utensils. Always great quality bagels. Been going here for so many years, I can't count. Nice corner location with shopping center parking lot so you will find a spot. My personal favorite is Ham and Swiss on Asiago. Sometimes I pick up a Cinnamon Sugar bagel for later as as well. Hey, Covid times are hard for everyone. Right now, especially Sunday mornings, the wait for one's order can be 15-30 minutes at the worst times. A testament to how much everyone loves great bagels on the weekend. We had a large order to place so we tried doing the online order which did not work. Then we downloaded the app to place an order and again did not work. There was some sort of error. So we called in and tried to place an order. The workers said they were not allowed to take phone orders. ??? How can that be good for business? Why answer the phone then? Anyways, after a long discussion, they finally allowed us to place the order. So we go in to pick it up and we used a $100 bill (because it was such a large order) which they did not accept. The whole process was super frustrating when in reality it should have been easy. We had a similar problem at another Noah's location. The bagels are not even boiled, just baked. Won't be returning. I wish I could give negative stars. I've been here twice and both times they have messed up our order. This last time someone took our drinks we had preordered and instead of getting at least an apology the employe was rude and gave me attitude for no reason asking me if I still wanted my drink even though I clearly had prepaid for it. This Noah's NY Bagels location is really really sub par. Never had a warm bagel from there. They all feel cold, hard, and old. Ridiculously SLOW customer service. Maybe that is why the bagels taste like they were made the day before. Need some plain cream cheese? Nope, they're out. Need some Veggie Smear? Nope, they're out of that too. How is this even possible being a Bagel Shop?! I can see this Noah's location going out of business, especially since you can pay less at Safeway or Lucky's and they are fresher. I don't know if the older Gentlemen is the owner, but honestly, in this fast paced life we all live now, it doesn't work, literally. The younger employees don't get a pass, either. "Noah's New York Bagels," huh? As a New Yorker I have to snicker at Noah's claim of being anything that's reminiscent of New York. You see, New York has something Noah's never seems to have: The New York bagel staple, onion bagels. Noah would be laughed right out of Brooklyn and dumped into the East River. Years ago I visited Noah's several times, to no onion bagel avail. I was told I should call ahead to see if the have any made. What a joke then and what joke now. I went in again, first time in years, two days ago: Still no onion. What a joke. Footnote: Many years ago, a local bagel shop, Apple Bagels, used to be in town (where Manpuku Sushi is now). Noah's showed up and like most predatory chains, ran Apple out of town. Always support your local businesses instead of chains. Chains pull money out of the local economy and deposit it directly into the corporate bank account, usually many states away. Apple always had onion bagels. read more

Anyway, I'm here to say that my recent visit to Noah's was a much better experience. The person who waited on me was Cindy. She was pleasant, and patient. I wanted to order a dozen bagels, and my kids were excitedly picking them out. I sort of last track as I stared into the case with a confused look, she sweetly said "You have seven left" ahhh ok. Excellent, let's have two more pretzel bagels and .... Umm.. she saw that one had lost my way and kindly made suggestions, without rushing us. The bagels were delicious, the Shmears were a hit, and I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. This has restored my faith in Noah's, and I hope that the wonderful service continues.
