Adding to the other reviewers' 1-star reviews. We had 3 older guys showed up 30 mins late (not a big deal). It took them a total of 10 HOURS to move a 3 bed 2 bath in Petaluma to a 2 bed 2 bath in Alameda. The main 'leader' of the 3 complained that the Alameda apartment had 'too many stairs' or was 'too far from the van' ....what mover complains about stairs or distance?? Towards the end of their 10 dragging hours I noticed they were working slower and slower.... it almost seemed like they were milking it, so my buddy and I stepped in to help out with some of the lighter stuff. They also asked for me to BUY and PAY for their lunch.... that wasn't part of the agreement at all! They also had the audacity to COMPLAIN about their tip at the end of the job, saying "15% not enough". They don't seem to understand the concept of tips- its not a thing you bargain with the customer. Their overall rudeness and sluggish performance, topped by an outrageous final price ruined what could have been a smooth move and positive review. The only positive thing I can think of is that they were gentle with the packing, and didn't break anything, but these are all basic things we should all expect from any mover. I'm never hiring this company again. read more

FIVE STARS! Moving is so stressful, and Michael and Penn were able to make it trouble-free. Penn went above and beyond to help me move out of my old place (including shining my wooden floors so I wouldn't get charged by my apartment) and move into my new place (including fixing a door handle that was broken when I moved in). They did a good job of protecting all of my items. They started out moving very efficiently. However, they slow down towards the end. It's as if they were dragging out the day to get more money. I had all of our things moved to the location I moved from Buy a different moving companies and nearly half the time. At the end, they will stand around basically waiting for a tip. I tip is just that, a tip, NOT A REQUIREMENT. Then the office is going to say it's as though you were at a restaurant giving a tip to someone. I'm going to report this to the California Better Business Bureau. Do not around basically trying to pressure someone into giving it to you! 3 hours to move a single room. Terrible service.

Super reasonably priced with movers who were relatively fast and treated the my furniture and items with care (wrapped and packed a lot of stuff for me) I had a one bedroom move (a bed, dresser and some clothes) and thought it would've taken maybe a little over two hours. The only reason why I gave 3 stars was because I was told they were going to be about 2 1/2 hours late. Wouldn't have been a big deal if they didn't decide to tell us 30 minutes before they were supposed to show up. We had our move scheduled at 2pm, the movers didnt arrive until 5:10pm. When it came to transporting, we found out that whoever wrote the address on receipt that written the address wrong, even after confirming. Needless to say, we weren't charged for the time it took for the movers to get there, but that mishap could've been avoided. All in all, they wrapped up just a little before 8pm. We tipped the driver/movers well because we thought they were genuinely hard & fast workers, however if we didn't dedicate the whole day to what would've been 2.5 hours of moving, I don't see how it could've worked. read more

I'm glad we hired this company to do our move over others. They showed up 15 mins early to our appointment, looked at the furniture that needed to be moved and began working immediately. We had one bedroom set, 2 sofas and 1 accent chair, dining table and TV stand that needed to be moved. It took them 3.5 hrs from foster city to south SF. The main reason I went with this company was because of the reviews that mentioned they take care of your furniture. I took pride in buying my furniture and wanted it to be delivered damage-free and it did! I had a very last minute move that needed to happen. This company replied the quickest and had availability so that was awesome. I had read the other reviews about the guys being skinny and not understanding English. They weren't skinny but they didn't speak much English. Only Chinese. They were not fast at all. I only had 2 hours to offload my container which was a bit stressful. I called their office and requested another person to come help since I didn't think we could get this done. I also had to have 2 of my own guys help since these guys moved at a pace that wouldn't have worked. They also weren't able to move very heavy items. We did get the job done but it was a struggle. If you have things that are not super heavy and you don't have a time limit then they would be fine. At the end they asked me to pay a tip. This I thought was strange since usually you get a tip if the customer feels you did an outstanding job and wanted to give you one. I did give them $40 but I wasn't really impressed since my people did the heavy lifting. I had other people on the receiving end to help to offload the boxes with them. I do appreciate that they showed up on time. It would have been a disaster for me if they didn't. read more

So my lady used this company to move recently, and they did a terrible job. I was horrified when I got to her house to see what they got complete. She was charged 900 dollars and we are still moving stuff out of here house.. the workers were completely undeserving of a tip got a serious attitude when the tip they got wasn't the amount they wanted.. they are lucky that they got a tip at all. They had the nerve to get angry and they made her very nervous with the attitude, very unprofessional!! I was really upset to see the amount of Work that was left after this company cleared out. So tomorrow we are forced to hire another company to complete this 900 dollar disaster!! These guys charge by the hour, so they procrastinate to make the time go by to get more money out of you!! These movers were AWESOME. We had Pengfei and Qing for our move within SF and wow did they work hard. Not only were they super quick (working nonstop the entire time), but they were also very gentle with all our belongings and got things in place in perfect order. I want to say that Noah Moving Company was so fantastic with my friends move. I would highly recommend them! Since my friend and her partner were so busy with their business, I helped coordinate their move. We only had 1 day to find a mover! Noah Moving Company was the only company that called back immediately and we're available. I was impressed with their flexibility. We changed the moving time 3 times! By the 3rd time, I was so embarrassed to call them. However, they were so gracious and accommodating. The movers knew what to do and were professional. What a great experience I had with them. Super fast and efficient movers who took great care in ensuring that everything was moved safely and wrapped properly. I've seen other movers take much longer to move similar things but these folks do not slack off at all. I think it's super unfair some of the reviews on this page, they seem predatory and from the same group of people who had maybe a bad experience (which sounded like a minor inconvenience not like some catastrophic failure. Did they break anything? No. Why complain so much?). People who go around saying they will give a 1 Star yelp review as a threat - that's really inappropriate to do to a small business. Also tipping 20%-30% is a standard tip for moving especially you should be tipping PER PERSON. Anyways Noah moving company has a lifetime customer now. read more

I was very impressed with them. They did a great job moving our stuff and were great about wrapping furniture really well. The were efficient and worked hard over the entire 5 hour experience. The situation at the destination was difficult (someone parked in the street spot we had reserved and had to be towed) so they had to carry stuff from further away. That slowed them down, but it was not their fault and they did well in a difficult situation. I was also a little concerned with them hasseling me in some way. People on here have said that they demand higher tips or bring more employees than we asked for. While they did show up with 3 movers instead of the 2 we had agreed upon, they immediately said they could send the other one home and it was totally up to me. The 3rd mover made the process much smoother and there was no pressure on the upsell. At the end of the process I tipped them 20% and they were very appreciative. English wasn't the movers first language, but the lead mover spoke English well enough. A couple boxes might have ended up in the wrong room but that was about the extent of any problems. Overall, it was a great experience with them and I was very pleasantly surprised. read more

I would give 0 stars if I can. Called them for last minute moving. They asked for pictures, and I sent them pictures of everything. Waited 2 hours for movers to come. When the mover arrived he took a look and said he will go call his other mover. After 10 minutes of him not coming back I went to check and discovered they were gone. I contacted the number and was told they moved because it was too heavy. He didn't touch anything to know what was heavy and what wasn't. She claimed I didn't send everything in the pictures when I did. These guys want to get paid to move very light stuff anyone can move. Terrible company. I moved from Santa Clara to SF with a stop at Redwood City. The entire move took 7 hours. The two movers were super nice and accommodating. It was my first time hiring movers so I did my research on tipping. Seems like the standard practice is to top a flat number. When it came to tipping time, they asked for 20-30% tip and caught me off guard. Confused, I went ahead and tipped them by the rate. I wish the move didn't end with that awkward incident! read more

Horrific--had to call the police on these men. Intentionally move very slowly, then tried to intimidate me into paying for an extra hour. Had to speak to the manager who confirmed this was inaccurate, and ended with driver calling me profanities and putting his middle finger in my face once I paid. Manager also hung up in my face when I called back to make her aware. Just filed police report and will also make a BBB complaint. Absolutely shameful. read more

Nice enough folks but may want to pass. Hard to understand the person responsible for booking appointments though I did appreciate the quick response. The workers will move your stuff safely, but they take a veeerrryyyy long time to do it. Has a truck that cant go on certain freeways? So we had to take city streets where they refused to drive over 35 MPH. (They charge for travel time too on top of gas). Had a team of 3 move us before in harder conditions who got it done in 2.5 hours. These 3 guys took 5 hours. They reealllyyy take the pay by the hour seriously and will linger and drag feet if you arent on top of them to increase the pay. Based on reviews it depends on the job and who you get. Short: 2 older guys show up almost 2 hours late and panting after finishing another move and refuse to start unless I committed to paying them for 7+ hours Full: Had a terrible experience trying to move with this company. I made the mistake of scheduling with them because they had the cheaper hourly rate, but they should up after 3:30pm on a Saturday (scheduled 1-2pm start) and the two movers that arrived were old. I approximate their age at 55+ (i am 34 for reference). I know guys in the age range that could run circles around me, but the main guy didn't want to walk up 1 flight of stairs to see the apartment we were moving from. When he finally got in the apartment he quoted me that it would take 7+ hours to move what was left in our 550 sq ft studio. I had already been moving small items for about 12 hours with my Honda Civic and just need help with the big items (3 ikea dressers, couch, china cabinet, queen size bed). I told him he was insane and that we should be able to get all the big items moved within 3-4 hours. He refused to budge and so I had to call the dispatch to try to fix the problem. She provided no help, but said if I wanted to cancel there would be no charge(thanks). I asked them to leave and started calling the other options I had passed on due to higher hourly rate. OBM&OBT was unable to get someone out that evening, but offered a lot of help and were very nice. Strngmn answered the phone and got me 3 movers within 2 hours and they were done working in another 2hours and 20min. Don't waste your time with Noah. Go to one of the other companies with better reviews, helpful customer service, and a slightly higher rate(you get what you pay for). I am sorry if I am being ageist, but 2 old guys that are on their second move of the day are not worth about $800 plus 20% expected tip to waste 7 hours moving a few big pieces from my studio apartment. In addition the main guy was difficult to communicate with and seemed to just want to get as much money out of me as possible. They might be "experienced" in the words of the dispatcher, but they were a waste of time in my opinion and I hope no one else makes the same mistake. read more
