Been going here for years and it pains me to say this: a month ago i mak an appointment for 2pm, arrive 1:59 and lady with Crazy Makeup points at the chairs like i'm a dog and say "half hour". i don't LIKE those chairs... they're the original chairs like 15 years old with covers on 'em. yuck. so i run out when the "Joker" returns to her client. Today, aching bad from work and seeing no one in the lot, i wing it. one hour is $50. of course it's not REALLY one hour- more like 45 to 50 minutes. we're done and she barges back in before i have my socks on to ready the room for next person. i give $15 tip. she says "you strong, give more?". tried to hand me the three fives back and asked for a twenty. Really?? three times she said it. i just laughed it off. sorry, i got hit with $6800 medical bills in the past week so i think a 30% tip ain't bad. ... actually had me second guessing myself... am i cheap? Google says 20% is normal so no i ain't exactly cheap. well that's it for me, tim to find a place that doesn't Shame me for a decent tip. read more

Although I was a bit taken aback at how spare & minimalist the decor, furniture, & general ambiance here, this was one of the best massages I have ever had. I wish I had gotten the name of my masseuse but, at first, she did not speak much English, so I just completely relaxed & enjoyed the "it hurt so good" deep tissue, one hour, full body massage that included hot stones, hot towels, a scalp massage & foot massage. Parking is practically non-existent as No. 1 Shine is located in a very small house right next to Cross Island Farms & it has only 2 parking spots (I parked in the supermarket lot next door). Chinese herbs are also available for sale here. Massage prices are moderate & I would come here again. read more

Unfortunately I didn't any pictures. I took my mom here for her birthday. With Covid getting a massage seemed like the last thing one should do but we took a chance. 1. When we got there the bottom of our shoes were sprayed with rubbing alcohol so we don't trek Covid all over the place. 2. The place was clean, smelled great, quiet, relaxing 3. new sheets on the massage table. 4. They provided sanitizer to sanitize our hands after opening the door to enter 5. Everyone wore masks Regarding the actual massage: It I was a great massage. We changed and got a very good 30 min back massage and 30 min foot massage. You have to completely undress for the massage and they do a wonderful job on your back with hot stones. There's no hot stone for the legs though. It was a wonderful experience and we will go back for sure. I've tried too many times. Today will be my last. I'm going to chuck it up to the fact that I called last minute and they allowed the woman who had never given a massage a day in her life to give one to me. I would have preferred if they would have said they just didn't have availability today. But... I went, and, it started it off the same as it has the four other times I've been. I wanted this place to be great because it's close to my house. Each time I'm faced with someone that specializes in deep tissue experiences and although I request softer and softer I end up leaving bruised. This may be what you're looking for so this would be the place for you. Unfortunately, that is not what I'm looking for. I want to enjoy my experience. Today I was faced with that along with the fact that she only wanted to work on the left side of my body. She never moved over to the right. The lady at the front desk eventually checked in and I explained and she switched her out but at that point it was toward the end and I was over it. They took a few dollars off and told me to ask for Susan the next time I came. I think I'd rather not go again but if you're going to try... ask for Susan! 3 stars for the effort of the lady in the front and her disappointment when she realized I only had a left body massage. read more

Although the massage was great, there were a few things I was pretty disappointed about. I purchased a Groupon for a Swedish or Deep Tissue massage. I walked into the place and was pleasantly surprised at the set up. From the outside, it looks a bit like a questionable establishment. There was soothing music playing, it looked clean and the staff was very friendly. Processing my Groupon was easy and I was ushered into the room for my 60 minute massage. I had never had a massage before so I didn't know you had to disrobe before and just laid on the table. My massage lady came in a few minutes later and laughed and muttered something I didn't understand. She spoke not one word of English. I guess what clothing to take off by her expressions and flapping hands up and down the front of her body. I took everything off except my undies and waited for her to come back in. The massage began with my shoulders and back without lotion. I think she was testing my pressure points and how much I could take. Then she moved onto an oil, then some hot rocks (amazing) from head to ankle (not toe!) A lot of the reviews remarked about the loud buzzer at the end of the massage. I for one never heard the alarm (either time.) She some how flapped her hands and sold me into a foot massage for 30 minutes for $20. I originally assumed the 60 minutes included my feet, but it obviously didn't. The foot massage was just lovely. I have VERY ticklish feet so I am sure she struggled a bit to properly massage them. After she finished, I assumed I got the full 30 minutes. She left the room and I got dressed. I looked at my watch and it was 2:15. My appointment was for 1:00 so it should have been over at 2:00, then on top of the 30 minute foot massage, 2:30. So I was gipped either on the body massage or the foot massage. I was a super disappointed. Before I walked out of the room, I put together the tip, I wasn't giving the full amount based on the 15 minute less massage. I walked in the front to pay the $20 for the foot massage and was informed there was a $2 surcharge if you used a credit card. Alright...the I give the massage lady her tip, she speaks to another lady in another language, and then tells me I didn't give enough tip. I was a little speechless. I fished out another $5 for tip and walked out just shocked. I had never been told how much to tip! Although the massage was great, I unfortunately will not be returning. read more

In terms of value - you can't beat this place. There IS soothing music and yes not all of the girls are proficient at english but the massage itself by any of the woman there is amazing! I have gone several times and pay $40 for an hour and an extra $20 for a foot massage (halfway through that - I'm usually snoring). These woman are serious masseuses and run a legit business and take precautions sanitizing and trying to protect their customers during this pandemic. read more

This place is a hidden gem.. I didn't know what to expect because of the location. ( The Spa is in house type setting). The massage was excellent..I had a sore shoulder and the woman knew what she was doing massaging the area I told her where I was sore. The massage rooms are small but cozy..soft music plays in the background with a subtle herbal/incense type smell. Very relaxing and I plan on returning. read more

This place is not bad at all for what you are paying. I've been several times, It could use a lil renovation and the staff really need to speak at least basic english but overall decent so they can communicate better as far as what customers want etc. I hate that some customers don't understand the be quiet rule but thats not the staffs fault. read more

Not happy! There was no spa music, the room has light coming in (not dark). While we were having the couples massage they were continuously talking in Chinese. At the end when we were finished we went to give each of them a $20 tip. The regular price was $100 (not the Groupon price) and the woman at the desk had the nerve to tell us we have to tip more! This place is a small quiet house that is converted into a spa. The workers work very hard on your knots in the muscles. The owner is polite and they are inexpensive. They use a lot of lotion-like oil which makes the massage enjoyable. I recommend this place, except there is hardly any parking. read more

Tried out this local spot and am so glad I did! I really enjoyed the deep tissue massage. They worked out the knots in my back and got the job done very well. The hot stones at the end were wonderful! My only complaint is the super loud obnoxious alarm that goes off when your time is up. After relaxing for an hour, that's one heck of a way to kick you out of there. That's gotta go! read more

This place is highly unprofessional and unorganized. My fiancé and I called the day before and made an appointment for 4pm. We came in 10 minutes early for our appointment and while waiting someone else came in stating they had an appointment for today at 4pm. The staff called their boss and she asked the guy is she would wait an hour. He stated that he couldn't and that he called at 8am and it's not his fault that they over booked. Then proceeded to ask me if I could wait. I stated that I couldn't and that I called from yesterday about this and shouldn't have to be inconvenienced for there error. End of story, we weren't able to get are massages and our refund either. Don't come here. You'll lose your money. read more

My partner and I came here in need of a massage & the massage was great ! I felt very relaxed but the only thing I did NOT like was the fact that one of the ladies there told me not to use Groupon next time, I'm guessing because of the discount ? So why offer Groupon if you're not gonna like when your customers use it ? I will not be coming back. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!This place was horrible. We had an appointment at 3:15 and we got there at 3:20. We were suppose to get massages for 3 people. The lady in the front told us that she double booked and we had to wait 90 mins. We told her no we were not going to wait, we drove 1 hour to get there. After a few mins of going back and forth we decided to get something to eat and to come back. But before we left to get something to eat, we asked her to double check to make we will not have the same problem at 5 when we come back. As she did she said "" ooohhh I am booked at 5, can you come back at 6?". This lady was nuts and disorganized. This is not a place you want to go to. They don't know what the hell they are doing. Racist... I use to frequently visit this establishment on a regular basis pre-covid. Their service was a amazing and they were very friendly. I called and spoke to Jenny the manager who was friendly and booked my appointment. today was my first day I went back to get a massage and was treated poorly. As soon as I walked in there was male receptionist at the front desk and he checked me in. However, a female masseuse came out and look at me with with disgust. Please note I am an African American woman. She spoke to the male receptionist and continued to look at me in disgust. She then proceeded to take my temperature, squeeze hand sanitizer into my hands and sprayed my feet and ankles. Meanwhile she did not acknowledge me nor greet me. I asked the male receptionist if there was an issue and he said no and walked me into the room. I didn't feel right have that encounter so I left. I then called the place back asking for Jenny and advised her I didn't appreciate how I was treated and clearly the female masseuse saw a African American woman sitting in the waiting area and was disgusted which is shocking because majority of their customers are African American or at least the customers I saw when I use to visit. Jenny's response was no we are all the same and the reason the female masseuse look like that because she was confused and is not familiar with deep tissue massages and she couldn't take me in as a customer because she doesn't know how. I thought that was a lie and simply stated Jenny should speak to that woman because it was unprofessional and uncalled for. It's unfortunate because I really like that place but I will not be returning to a business that allows their employees to treat African Americans like they are trash. I didn't dress inappropriately, I had a mask on and I sat patiently while waiting to be serve. I didn't do anything wrong and it's truly is sad. read more

A+ rated spa if you want a good hard massage which I DO. I have been to this place twice and will still keep on going. This time I have to bring a friend because I want her to experience an excellent deep tissue massage . These ladies have very good strong hands and they definitely know where your knots are. They will not stop until they get it out. I was disappointed the 2nd time around cus they want me to pay more to massage my feet not like my first visit where it was partly included. And I love that they throw in some hot stone massage . Awesome experience and will definitely come back. read more

I actually had a phenomenal massage from Lisa this morning. I also wasnt sure what to expect pulling up and from waiting in seating area, but five minutes in until the end I was in heaven. Lisa was great and I will be returning. I also felt the same pressure at the end another post or two said about the tip. They made a joke about tipping is good and to always tip more... I'll certainly return for another massage but if they're not happy with a 25% tip, I won't come back for a third massage. read more

Do not waste your time nor your money here. I've gotten massages most of my life, and this was awful. The woman was not skilled. She either didn't apply enough pressure or it was way too much. I ended up having bruises on my back & neck. It was all very stressful. While having reflexology done, she was so rough on my foot that I pulled it back and said ouch. She said, "Relax". I asked her not to apply soo much pressure and she said, "Oh, sorry I don't speak English" My body and nerves were so bad after leaving this place. There was a very loud man in another room making strange sounds. The atmosphere is not nice. The fans are loud and it smells stale and old. When I went to tip the "therapist", I asked for change. She seemed to not know what that meant. I waited for help, and another woman came out and laughed at me. I said is this (15 dollars) not good enough, she said, "Noo, it's not enough, you give more" I was insulted. The so called manager contacted me after making a complaint, and offered to make it up to me. I went back hoping for the best. It was worst than the first time.
