I'm super picky when it comes to massages, but I really enjoyed my massage here! I got a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Weifang, and she was great! She was able to find the knots in my back right away and work on them. She also asked me a couple times throughout if the pressure was okay (since it was deep tissue), but also made sure not to talk too much so I can have a relaxing experience. Updated review as for last few months I've switched to getting prenatal masaages (still with Peter). Experience continues to be amazing and so relaxing. Very nice, clean, calmong, amd comfortable rooms. Depending on day we may work on alleviating pain, reducing stress amd tension, hip openers for labor, and whatever else I either request or Peter feels my body needs. The session always starts with a check in chat. He really listens and responds to you and your body. He knows a lot about anatomy and body responses and works that into his treatment. I went for a prenatal massage. I never had one before so I can't compare- I can only compare to regular massages I had. My appointment was booked 5 days in advance for 4 pm. When I got there the receptionist informed me that she just called the massage therapist and that he forgot about the appointment but would be coming by soon. He arrived 10 minutes later and took about 10 Minutes to get ready so I was in the room about 25 minutes after my appointment time. He said he was sorry, but the receptionist kept repeating that I probably have nothing else to do today and kept assuring me he would still give me the hour. Before the massage He asked me how I was feeling. I told him I was 7 months pregnant and there because I was feeling very sore and achy on my back and shoulders. I specified I was there for my back and shoulders . I wish he was more attentive to what I needed and wanted out of the service. I went there for back pain and I felt he spent a lot of time on my arms and legs, feet and hands. Although I left feeling lightheaded, loopy and relaxed , it was not the intent of my visit. I am still extremely sore and don't feel like I got any of the pain dealt with. I have gone to other massage places that usually asked me if there are places I wanted them to focus on and places I wanted them to avoid so I assumed it would be the same. I seriously commend Laurie for dealing with the knots in my shoulders/neck/back for an hour. This was my third time coming to this place for a massage. I'm satisfied every time I come here but Laurie really hit it out of the ballpark with this massage! First, she asked me for any particular part she should focus on and I told her how I have a chronic shoulder/neck pain because I'm sitting all the time at work. During the massage, she really focused on the shoulders and neck and made an effort to get those knots out. Her hands are so powerful! This place was very warm and welcoming. I called last minute for a prenatal massage but wanted someplace that had either the prenatal cushion or the prenatal table so that I could comfortably lay on my stomach. Lynbrook Massage fit the bill. My masseuse (Laurie?) had some of the strongest hands packaged in a little body, lol. She was skillful and knowledgeable about which points to press and which to avoid on a pregnant woman's body - I appreciated her for that. The massage therapists are very good at what they do. I visit probably two or three times a year as a treat, and I've asked for a gift certificate here as my Christmas gift. My usual complaints are tense shoulders, stress, and sometimes lower back pain. Lately I've seen Sue G. twice and she is fantastic! I'm pretty sure I fell asleep for a few minutes at the end. I had a massage with Bernice yesterday after reading some reviews online but also because I was just desperate and in immense pain and she had time open. My neck and shoulder and upper back were rock hard from excessive crafting and probably my job as a baby nurse. I've had a lot of chronic pain and injuries/surgeries since high school (almost 20 years) so I've had MANY massages- maybe around 70-80 ish. Bernice gave me the best deep tissue massage of my life. She stretched and hit muscles I didn't even know I had. She is so thorough and is very strong. I'm not one for relaxing massages (she's probably great at that too) but if you're looking for someone who can put your body through the ringer she is it. I felt so much looser and energized when I got up, I was thrilled. Today I'm sore but still feel amazing. I am a Bernice convert now. She knows her stuff. Felt like the biggest scam. First, I waled into the room and there was like disco lights and green laser type lights, that aren't relaxing and would need a quick google search to know that, besides simple common sense. I at least asked to turn off the neon green dots and asked for blue, which is a relaxing color but even that was neon. I wasn't looking for a disco party experience when I went for a massage! I have gotten massages before and I am not a masseuse but from experience, it felt like she maybe learned what she was supposed to do on a YouTube video and opposed to knowing where to press and push on the body. Her touch felt very "off" and very uncomfortable. She kept asking me if the pressure was ok, which was fine, but what she was doing didn't feel right. She was also kind of all over the place on my body, not feeling like there was good flow or rhythm. This may just be a preference but she was just trying to make conversation and I wanted to be there to relax, not chit chat at all... The whole experience was the opposite of what I was looking for and was just waiting for it to be over, so they can take my money so I can leave. read more

Unfortunately, my hour massage was more frustrating than anything else. I made an appointment for a sports massage requesting a therapist who would use the strongest pressure (I had a marathon in one week and had a specific pain area I wanted to work on). Despite that, and informing the therapist of my exact problem area at the start , I received what I would assume was a generic Swedish massage with very little pressure. About 15 min in, I reminded the therapist we agreed that I didn't need any work on my arms and to focus our time on my legs. Although she claimed it was part of her plan, that was clearly untrue because she skipped the other arm and begin working on my legs. Even when we got to the legs, it was more focused on my feet instead of my IT band and quads. Every other therapist I've had has instantly realized the tight areas of my legs....not so here. Unfortunately, a wasted hour and cost of a massage that didn't do anything to address with my concerns leading up to my marathon. read more
