My friend Sue and I went to Alice's Healthy Foot Spa this past Saturday. When scheduling the appointment, I was cautious to let Alice know that I have severe spinal problems and it would be dangerous for my back or neck to be touched. We booked 60 minute reflexology foot massages (which routinely includes a brief back and neck massage).To replace the time she could not massage my back or neck, Coco did an amazing job on my hands and arms. We could not be any happier. I felt 5 years younger, and had no more feelings of stress. The facility was clean, the staff warm and friendly, and the spa-like music was playing as we were thoroughly enjoying our massages. "Coco" was my masseuse, and "Riki" was my friend's. I went to Alice's on a whim, after seeing many recommendations on the Oceanside Facebook forum. It might not be called Alice's on the outside. It is next door to a Chinese restaurant. It does not smell like food inside. I was greeted warmly and had a short wait since I did not have an appointment. It was a Sunday afternoon. My massage was very relaxing. Honestly it was what I needed. I think these massage artists are very good at their jobs. It's as tho they Know what you need, without telling them. I definitely needed a lot of butt massage and that's what I got. 45$ for an hour is not a bad price. I wasn't sore the next day and overall enjoyed the massage. Welp. I just died. Did somebody just take a rolling pin and iron out my entire body? Yes. No frills. $45 for an hour massage. Clean. And good. I love these places. It's a lot bigger inside than it looks. Don't expect luxury, it's a bunch of curtained-off rooms for body work, and a bunch of chairs for foot work. Will be back for sure. You know what I'll be completely honest, I think all foot spas look sketchy from the outside lol, so I was hesitant to go in here, BUT I finally gave it a shot and I'm so happy I did. Alice herself works in the front and keeps the place soooo nice and clean. It smells so good in there and it was such a great freaking massage. After waking up one morning with a sore upper back and tension knots from working at my desk so much, I finally looked up a nearby massage place. This place popped up and seeing that their prices were so reasonable I though there wasn't much to lose. I called and made an appointment for later that day. Im an avid weight lifter and was planning on doing so that day until I decided the back pain was too bad. So I called back and moved my appointment up. The parking lot has plenty of spaces, so that isn't an issue. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted and brought back. Keep in mind, their space is small so all of the beds are separated by curtains rather than walls. That being the case, I wasn't bothered by the other person getting the massage at the same time. They had light music playing and it smelt very nice inside. My masseuse was quiet the entire time. She was definitely using all of her energy on my massage. She did an amazing job, it was very relaxing, therapeutic, and I walked away with a fresh back! I will be back on a monthly basis! At the time they were only taking cash, venmo, paypal, or zelle payments but those are all pretty convenient. read more

Update to Feb and May reviews; Weekly treatments from Helen have immensely helped if not fully cured my shoulder impingement condition which has ailed me progressively for last 10 years - until finding Helen in Feb/23. As I suspected no need for surgery recommended by 2 different orthopedics for torn labrum I've had for maybe 40 years - was so not the cause of discomfort as I just knew!!! No longer sleep depraved from it, near full range of motion restored. Right hand no longer always cold. Carpal tunnel like issues long gone..... Calcified tendons (calcific tendonitis) condition is nearly restored to normal with massively improved blood circulation from Helen's treatments. Over the years (I'm 63) I have had many different sport related masseuse therapist. Big fan of Eastern Medical treatments including massage as well as acupuncture and diet. Helen's skill is simply remarkable. On 1-10 scale its a 12. OK, 10 is limit so she's 10.0. I expected to need a full year of weekly treatments before getting shoulder condition remedied to just near extent it already is. At this rate by February 2024 I may actually be fully 100% cured. A real shame most insurance would cover tens of thousands of $ for unnecessary but prescribed surgical treatment but not what actually works much better at fraction, maybe less than 1% of cost - for treatment that actually works! read more
