I was invited to a bridal shower held here today. First things first, it's Neiman Marcus! What could possibly go wrong right? Lol Upon walking into the cafe I was welcomed by the staff with a warm hello. Since it was set up for a bridal shower the decor was bridal themed. We had 2 servers and a bartender who all serviced each us with passion and great care. They were bringing tons of beverages and appetizers as we enjoyed playing games and making sure the bride felt as special as the day. We had a beautifully curated menu and the food was light and fulfilling. From the garlic truffle fries to the NM frozé. My goodness that frozé was so good I had two. For my entree I went with the sampler dish that had a half sandwich, fruit and soup. The food was plentiful and tasty. My daughter and I enjoyed a lunch at the NM Café before we went to a rodeo event. I loved that they were able to accommodate me with gluten-free bread. The ambience is clean and perfect for ladies having lunch. My daughter always loves the popovers and broth they serve when seated. This location is not quite as fancy as NorthPark, but similar in size and same in taste. Brighter due to plenty of windows. Yes, it is a tad overpriced; welcome to Neiman Marcus. read more

Shocked by some of the negative posts complaining about the pricing. So- here's a little tip. Neiman Marcus caterers to their clientele. Get yourself a Neiman marcus card so you can earn perk cards so you eat for free. That's right- free. I'm a regular shopper here and receive these perk cards all the time. And you guess it- I ate for free. And we ate really good food. The popovers are the best! The broth so good! This visit I had the mushroom bahn mi- so good I didn't realize it was vegan!! This place is the ultimate in service and the food is fantastic every time we come and don't forget- I got mine for free. read more

I have been going to Neimans since it was the hedges It's slowly been going down hill through time and now it's just sad. The food is not good Very small portions They brought out popovers that were burnt and said they are all that way It's so sad to see this. I've been going to Zodiak since I was a young girl with my mother. I took my granddaughter there yesterday, and I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre at best. We had to ask for silverware and napkins which came half way through the meal. They did not bring us broth until the end of our meal, and we had to ask for popovers which also came halfway through the meal. The food was OK but nothing like it used to be back in the day. The server did apologize and say please come back when they're not so busy and he would do a better job, but really! It was $100 lunch for two sandwiches, water and a bowl of soup. Do better Neiman Marcus! Or charge less and drop the pretension. read more

wanted a quiet lunch and some good conversation with 2 friends. What we got were mediocre lunches (thankfully the muffin and broth were good as usual). Two parties of 8 women, then another party of 6 women came in. Noise level was OFF the charts. We couldn't even talk to each other. We all suffered a headache from the loud din throughout the room. The three of us decided it will be a long while before we dine here again. We after quickly and split. Wanted to say something to the manager but apparently the manager is the chef and I'm not going to bother a chef when it's so busy in the restaurant. The food is decent, however it is way overpriced. Come here for the experience of dining in Neiman Marcus, but not for the food. I ordered the salmon tacos, which consisted of two medium-sized tacos & a small side of tortilla chips. Some may disagree, but one should not be charged $19 for 2 average tasting tacos. I could MAYBE understand the price if it were wild salmon with everything else being organic, but it is not advertised on the menu as being so, which leads me to assume it is not. My only praise for the food is the popovers. These English rolls are served as an appetizer to all tables. In reference the the restaurant area itself, it is very small and very noisy. Long story short, eating here is memorable becuase of the setting, but not becuase of the food. read more

Good service, amazing drinks. However, the food is waaay overpriced. They start your meal off with this incredible chicken broth, and average popovers. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad (for $25), and although it was delicious, I was only given 4 shrimp. With tails on. For $25 I expect around 8 shrimp DE-TAILED. My husband ordered the $19 Salmon Tacos & he said they were good, but one order only contains 2 tacos with a measly amount of salmon. They give you chips on the side, but only about a spoonful of salsa...so then you're left with just chips. I know you can ask for more, but why would you serve a spoonful of pico with more than a handful of tortilla chips. I realize I sound like a penny pincher, but I have no problem paying more than average for food when it's worth the money. Was this worth the money? No. read more

This "restaurant" is an insult to both Neiman-Marucs, and Fort Worth patrons. In the old NM stores we at least had The Zodiak Room. The new store here only has the "cafe', and although the management tried to tell me it is the same thing, just a different name, it is not. Massively downgraded from what one would expect from a NM restaurant. In the Dallas stores, (down town and North Park) the cafe is the very casual, fast food, to go spot. They both feature a true restaurant Zodiac Room. To begin, no table cloths, and VERY LOUD, with televisions blaring over the bar area. Is this a sports bar Hummmm...very cheap downgraded china too and glassware. Just not an inviting atmosphere. Now the food: They still serve you the chicken broth and popovers like in the old Zodiak. However, the famous strawberry butter tastes like it is now made with margarine. The poppers were stale, and the chicken broth did not taste like the traditional recipe featured in the NM Cookbook, but for a can. When pressed, our waitress (Brandy) admitted the food is not made in house, but shipped in, much frozen, and just re-heated. Really? Come on Neiman's. Isn't it about time you stopped treating Fort Worth as a step child.Awful. Do not waste you time going here In fact, the entire store (little bitty as it is) will disappoint. read more

My friend and I were so excited to lunch at the new NM Cafe. Our service was wonderful. We sat at the bar and visited with the delightful waitstaff. The broth, strawberry butter and popovers were delicious,as always. Our meals were good, not fantastic. The atmosphere is totally different than the old Zodiac at Ridgemar, which we expected. What we didn't expect, was the lack of elegance that you come to admire and appreciate from Neiman's. It was like you were at any new restaurant with televisions at the bar. Delicious and iconic restaurant. Always great service. Favorite menu items have remained on menu since Helen Corbett days. Love the sampler - cup of soup, choice of half sandwich with chips and fruit!! Highly recommend for a mid-shopping break. The service was great. We enjoyed the cheese plate and the honeycomb was a nice touch. I made reservations a week prior. We were seated fairly quick. Presentation was lovely. I had the chicken salad w soup. The chicken salad was just ok. I didn't want to eat the remainder. I had actually ordered tuna salad but chicken was brought out. We have eaten at the new NM Café about 5-6 times. Each time, we hope the experience is better than the time before, but continues to get worse. Number one complaint is the slow service. Always feel like we are looking and waiting for our server to make an appearance. The place is sooo loud! I will say that most often the food is delicious!! However, on a recent visit, my daughter was served a semi-frozen popover. I always assumed the popovers were fresh-baked, but apparently not. This was such a disappointing adventure. The cafe itself is so loud you can not hear the friend beside you. Our service was poor as we were given our entrees but no silverware. We waited 5 min for someone to flag down to even get utensils. The chicken salad is so bland!! The orange soufflé'. ..... oh how I miss the old recipe and presentation. Brought my mom here when she came in town, and they told us that at 130pm on a Tuesday that there was a 45 min wait for two people. We decided to take the option to sit at a high table in the bar area. After waiting approximately 8 minutes for the waitress to come over to our table and greet us, she quickly handed us glasses of water and said she'd be right back with menus. After waiting almost 20 minutes, and watching her check on various other tables, we decided to just eat somewhere else. Keep in mind, this is a small restaurant and there were only four or five high tables, all within a few feet of one another. They could not handle the amount of people who came in on a Sunday afternoon. Way too crowded. Also they were out of many food items at the beginning of the day but handled it very poorly. I had heard good things but was extremely disappointed when they were "out of" the roasted chicken, yet plenty of other people in the restaurant got the roasted Chicken after I was told they had sold out of it.
