Been here twice, once for a birthday and once as a family. We've only done the arcade and go karts and they're both super fun! One gripe I have is that I wish the workers were a bit more attentive. We went on Monday and there wasn't anyone at the front desk for maybe 10minutes. They didn't have us watch the safety/instructional video which normally plays on a loop at the front of the pit gate. We had two double karts because our kids are young and we were put in a race with multiple other adults. The employees in the pit were good, one was a young lady who seemed new and a young man who obviously had much more experience. I'm on the shorter side and he recognized I needed the pedals adjusted and a booster seat. He also rechecked all our belts because the girl didn't put them on tight enough. So during our race we had to go slowly for the first lap, but then it was on! Unfortunately, I had to go slow because my daughter is small and apprehensive about the whole experience. I'm sure we were a hindrance for the faster racers, but most were very respectful and drove around us. One person in particular (an older black man who uses the name "007 Speed") hit me into the barrier 3 times and hit my husband and son's kart at least twice. He hit us with such force both of my kids have been complaining of neck pain. I told the experienced male employee but no consequences for Mr. 007 Speed even though each time he hit us they overhead announced, "No hitting other drivers or barriers. Next time you will be out of the race." When the race was done Mr. 007 Speed never acknowledged what he did or apologized. As we were leaving we saw him complaining at the front desk. So overall, I really like this place. It's geared for children and families, but definitely for anyone who wants to have fun. It would be ideal if they grouped drivers separately like they do for junior racers. I hosted my company team outing here for 18 people, and unfortunately, our experience was not great. I originally wanted to leave a 1-star review, but I'm giving 2 stars because the assistant manager and kitchen manager were genuinely helpful and tried to make things better. Before our outing, my manager spoke with whoever handles bookings multiple times to confirm our reservation. The package we were told was $50 per person for 3 races, 4 pizzas, and space for our team, totaling $1,084 for 18 people. Each time, my manager confirmed that it included 3 races, and we were told they were having issues booking it correctly in the system but would fix it when we arrived. When I pulled up, I noticed most of the staff outside. Maybe it was a break or a slow day, but when I walked in, no one was at the register. I walked around until I found someone to help me, who I believe was the kitchen manager. She was awesome and connected me with the manager, who was outside. The manager, who I believe was Jordan, checked my party in and confirmed that we were getting 3 races for $50 per person. At that point, everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, 4 of my team members could not make it, and we were told they could not refund the $200. The assistant manager was great and gave us credit instead for food and game cards, which we appreciated. She handled that situation with great customer service. Where the experience went sideways was when we were waiting for our third race. The manager then told us he did not make the change and that we would need to pay an additional $20 per person for the third race. I was confused because we were told multiple times before the event, and again when we checked in, that the package included 3 races for $50 per person. At that point, my team was expecting 3 races. We had paid for 18 people, 14 showed up, and the 4 no-shows were credited toward food and game cards. I also noticed they had a Thursday special for $20 per race, so I asked if they could at least price match and refund $10 per person for the 14 people since we were not getting the third race. That would have been $140. The manager said party packages do not work that way. But from a customer standpoint, it felt like we would have been better off just paying individually and buying the pizzas ourselves instead of spending over $1,000 on a package that was not honored the way it was explained to us. As a business owner myself, I was honestly shocked by the lack of accountability and hospitality from the manager. I even told my management team that this was a perfect example of what not to do in our own business. My business partner was also upset and went to speak with the manager. He asked if the owner could be contacted so they could discuss the situation owner to owner. Unfortunately, the situation got worse. The manager got into a loud verbal argument with my business partner in front of customers and kids. That part was completely unacceptable. Instead of trying to de-escalate, make things right, or at least show some level of hospitality, the manager became confrontational. To the owner of this establishment, I hope you take this feedback seriously. The assistant manager deserves recognition because she handled herself professionally and showed real hospitality. She either has hospitality experience or it comes naturally to her, but either way, it should not go unnoticed. Business owner to business owner, the assistant manager was the bright spot in this experience. The manager, on the other hand, did not take accountability for what we were told during booking or what he confirmed when we checked in. I'm more than happy to update this review if the owner replies and makes this right. read more

I celebrated my daughter's birthday here this weekend, and it was great! My daughter had a great time, and so did all of our guests. It was the perfect weekend. It wasn't too crowded, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. The party room we had was amazing. We had the Graffiti Room, and it went perfectly with our neon theme. I also loved that the lady from the cafe kept checking in with me to make sure I didn't need anything. We stumbled upon this while staying in the area. We called ahead of time to find out when kids could race and they told us to come by 1pm. We got there and staff was super helpful and friendly! We filled out the waivers online and we purchased a package within minutes. The staff member was so nice to split the gaming cards between both of our kids since we purchased 1 package between our 2 kids. Kids had a blast racing and playing mini golf! Safety issues!!! I was reading the rules, "no bumping!!!" Yep during the race I got bumped like five times. Also I got pitted and went on a spin by another driver and a staff standing by for safety who witnessed it did not stop him. Thank goodness for helmets! After that experience now I see why there are not so many cars parked in front of this former Circuit City store. read more

We. Had. A. Blast. From the go-karts to the miniature golf to the axe throwing, we took full advantage of our family night here in Nitro City. We had been wanting to visit for a while after seeing that they has the two level track and this place did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, it far exceeded our expectation. Racing on that track was fun as h...... Like, we really had a blast. I was super happy they didn't police the track too much. At least not while we were racing. Anyway, we raced a few games and then moved on to the next thing which was axe throwing. I want to tell you this was like $15 pp for 30 minutes and in that 30 minutes we learned A LOT. Axe throwing isn't as easy as we thought, but the instructor walked us through it and shared in our laughter and frustration of trying to figure it out. The miniature golf room was crazy. A lot of crazy characters (aliens, etc.) under a black light they it glows in there. I loved the holes though. Very creative. The wolf behind the wall scared me half to death, lol, but it was too fun being in there with my family. This place has great prices for the races ( we did 3 for $68) + a head cover ($5) per person. No membership required for basic races and I loved that. The staff was super friendly, all but one... but 1 out of 5 is good odds. We didn't get a chance to hit the arcade, but we'll be back. This is the exact spot K1 speed used to be in.. I would even say this spot is better(I think they may have just rebranded). They offer mini golf, arcades and axe throwing.. they had great Halloween decor. It was pretty empty around 6p which was great for us.. if you're going to partake in the arcades don't out so much on the card.. we put $80 and couldn't run through the money and since it was pretty empty as we were leaving there was no one to pass them off to. I had a blast with the Go-karts. If I could pay for just the Go-karts rather than the other activities, then I would. I did several laps around their track. I got a deal. Nitro City tends to do a lot of deals since Go-karting is usually pretty pricey. I tried the axe throwing, but wasn't really a fan since I couldn't get the are to stick to the wall. The drink station wasn't manned. I had go ask the lady at the front desk multiple times for a drink even though she had different duties and couldn't leave the front desk unattended. read more

Went on Sunday around 7 and got the $20 price. Which was awesome! Who doesn't love a little discount. There weren't a lot of people, which was nice. We played in the arcade before and after, we had a lot of fun. They give a lot of points for $20. We were able to play a handful of games and take pictures. The workers were nice and the track itself was awesome! Some sharp turns, which was great. But also made it difficult at times with some slower people and getting around them. They have lockers for when you're actually getting on track. They had axe throwing and it looked like a little food area, there were some tables as well. Overall a cool little spot for a last minute Sunday date night. Definitely will be back and will look into the membership! read more

We took 6 of our son's best buds to celebrate his 10th birthday on Friday afternoon as they had the day off from school and it turned out great! The staff were super accommodating and helpful and ensured the safety of our rookie drivers. Nitro City Racing is a great place overall, and most of the staff are welcoming and helpful. The problem is one employee who consistently drags the whole place down. He was working around 3pm on Wednesday and, instead of telling us about the 3 races for $50 Wednesday deal, he just charged us $28 each for 2 races -- costing us more for less. I also watched him ignore a large group the same way. I don't know his name -- why would I? He has no customer service skills, doesn't engage, and makes customers feel like they're wasting his time. Every other employee is friendly, but this one stands out for all the wrong reasons. One bad employee can cost you repeat business and undo the good work of the rest of the team. Management should seriously consider replacing him. There are plenty of people who would be grateful for this job, treat customers with respect, and help Nitro City Racing keep its good reputation. read more

Smells like brand new tire but ambiance was super cute and clean. They have some dining area on the left side with few arcades, mini golf all the way in the back. Entire right side was racing track with lots of carts. It was such a fun place with glow in the dark. You can enjoy nitro racing car and if you during the week they have specials where you can enjoy mini golf for free. Also the race was longer than I thought way better than great America racing area you pay to race this place you can actually race and much more faster and fun. If you have a kids they can also join however since it's super face they can get hurt. Staff is slow but they are extremely chill and nice last time we went only 3 employees were running the entire place. I'll definitely be back. read more

Do not go here. No AC???? 4 open white claws... 4 open beers. Workers are sloppy & rude and not clean at all, one of them being a heavier set man who doesn't put on deodorant!!! STINKY!!! Not introductory friendly with my partner paying $58 for 2 rides and then was taken out of the second race on lap 2 with no 1st warning, and as a beginner. The experienced drivers, (a dad with two sons who kept racing over and over from even before we got there and with a wrist brace on, clearly vets) kept pushing my partner in the upper deck where the workers dont see them. But then take out my partner with no experience when another non experienced driver ran into her. HORRIBLE. Worst place and video games & golf are ugly & are expensive. Aside from go cart, there are other games there such as axe throwing, mini golf, and arcade games. I took my son and husband here today and while the facility was awesome and we all actually had a wonderful time and will be back, I was super disappointed with a situation that arose. I had paid in full before we arrived, and when we arrived, the man behind the counter didn't realize this. He graciously offered us half off, so I paid again for half of what I had already paid. I thought about it and realized what happened. And when I went to go ask for a refund, they told me I couldn't have one and could either use the laps today or save them to our account. We ended up just doing the laps but in the end we paid $160 when really we should have only paid about $50 with the free laps he offered. I should not have had to pay for their mistake and I kinda feel duped. On reflection I realized it was incredibly unprofessional. I understand there is a no refund policy but it shouldn't apply to these types of situations. read more

Diana at the front desk ruined our experience. We showed up 30 minutes early for set up of our party as they stated we could on the phone. When we arrived, Diana rudely and loudly shouted at us to wait and check in only after the entire party arrives first. We waited for our entire party to arrive and checked in as she said. It's now 30 minutes later and the start of our party time; we ask again about our room's availability ONLY to put the birthday cake down. Diana again, SHOUTS at us impatiently, "just TEN MORE MINUTES OKAY? just ten more minutes!!" while waving her hands in the air at us. Now this has become an issue. Her attitude was unnecessary, unprofessional, and her actions were unsympathetic to our needs. Another manager, Christian, stepped in at this point, and attended to us as much as he could. He was very helpful with the rest of our party planning needs and checked on us multiple times. Another employee, Melody, was also very sweet and attentive to us throughout the rest of the party. I understand that the place might be busy on a Saturday and Diana might've had a bad work day prior to our party, or that she's just had a bad day in general. But that shouldn't be an excuse to lash out at us as unrelated customers. This was just pure unprofessionalism and a temper tantrum on her end. The party planning here is very disorganized, aside from the terrible experience Diana gave us. We had to run around and ask people for plates and utensils even though we ordered food from the venue party package. We did not get the extra set up time (30 minutes prior to party start) like we were told on the phone, so we couldn't put up any decoration. We've had children's birthday parties at more than a dozen places around the area throughout the years and have had good and bad experiences from all those places, but never, ever, ever this upsetting. Be cautious about booking here. If you do, maybe bring Diana a coffee, so she won't yell at you for no reason. read more

First time here Pretty easy check in, very nice boy at the front counter, he helped us with all our questions and he also helped us get ready for our race, don't know the name of him but he's very friendly and helpful, when we got to paying we were helped by this nice young lady and she made sure we had everything correct and how we wanted. The racing itself was lots of fun, 1 race is 6 minutes of racing for 28 dollars, about on par with other go cart places and they also have deals and packages during the week. The go-carts themselves were very fast and were (for the most part) easy to control, at times they would slip and slide around on the top, but it was very fun to have to use some skill to keep the cart going. Didn't get to try the cafe as unfortunately it wasn't open, I believe it is only open on weekends. Axe throwing looked cool and they use REAL axes, didn't try it though. Overall, from my short experience, even though I didn't explore the whole facility, I had a blast. Solid 8.7/10! read more

1 Star Review If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I came here with friends expecting a fun experience, but it was awful from start to finish. Right from the start, the staff were unfriendly and acted like they didn't want us there. When we finally got on the track, they told us that if we made any "mistakes" like bumping into the barriers, they'd kick us off. It felt more like they were waiting for us to mess up than encouraging us to have a good time. During our race, they kept slowing down our karts for no reason. It was super frustrating! We paid for a racing experience, but they cut the speed without any warning and didn't explain why. Half the time, it felt like we were crawling around the track. When we asked about it afterward, the staff just brushed us off and said it was "for safety"--even though we were following every rule. Save your money and go to a real k1 speed read more

Ridiculously fun experience! I had never been karting before my experience at Nitro City and I am now hooked! The employees were helpful in getting our group ready and explaining how everything worked. The karts were fast enough for a challenging adrenaline rush. Will be back for sure! read more

The course was definitely fun. We had a blast on it. The price is expensive but it was just two of us so okay. Went on a cold day either the heater was broken or they just done believe in turning it on. Now for the karts, we done three races first race car was great, second and third kart sucked. Wouldn't have mentioned the second but the third kart mad me. The last one the steering was so bad I had to use all my muscle just to keep the kart straight. By the last lap I could not keep the kart straight and just road the bumper for the lap. Not a good experience to end on. When I advised staff they said we have heard already and did not even look at the kart but a small Boy was assigned it in the next race!! Would have been okay until the last experience and they didn't even offer me another race to make op for it. Not sure if we will return. read more
