Been getting my nails done here for a year! My boyfriend & his kids come here too. We all love it!

I was in there a few months ago... I wrote this review out then when I was upset and never posted because I needed to be a bit more calm so that I can rephrase a few things. So my last visit I experienced what I would call an "uncomfortable experience" in there. I can't say it was my first bad experience with them but it's Def the one that took the cake for me! I have been coming here off and on for about 4 years and brought several people in with me. I thought I liked their grooming style but I find that to be a hit and miss. Doesn't matter how busy or not busy they are or if they had a good day or bad day, they just seem to not really consider the customers experience. When your technique is not all that great your personality should have some type of flavor. Well my last experience finally did it!!! Not only did she cut my big toe toooo short after I just got them to a decent length ( you know how hard it can be to not chip a toe nail... Story of my life!) but she talked so much shit about my inquiry about my ring that may have been misplaced in there, after asking about my ring every tech started glancing my way to look at my fingers. More proof and discomfort they were talking about me. Then when I asked what they were talking about the supervisor made up a story for them... the shit talker couldn't even cosign. As my attitude shifted...she gave me a smile at the end that she normally never shows because she just seems to not like to serve pedicures for other people. Then this business is not for you. I should have read reviews here before but that same woman has been complained about several times... Same demeanor... Let me also mentioned the last person I brought in before this last time, that same girl made her toe bleed to where she couldn't get acrylic and took no blame. Said it was her toe, she barely touched it... I'M SURE I DONT HAVE TO COMMENT ON THAT! Needless to say that girl talked so much mess in her language about it that my friend asked her not to continue the service... When the nicer woman finished her hands she left because she was so uncomfortable... My other referrals didn't like the work they did in a while so I have to say they are not worth going to for a pamper yourself day. For the price they charge and only cash I don't want to follow there policy if there policy is not to make sure hospitality and comfort is key... They always seem like they have tension with in the company and it shows with their service. Thanks but no thanks!!! They get one extra star because I went to them off and on for a while and I liked them more in the beginning then I do now. So obviously they have decent moments, but definitely a hit and miss. read more

Really hit and miss. Great place if you get a good person. Some of the people that work here are extremely rude. Incredibly and unnecessarily dismissive. They barely make eye contact and act as if you're working for them. So odd. While other nail technicians are perfectly lovely and have very good costumer service skills. Bummer. read more

This place has changed a lot for the worse. It used to be relaxing and quiet, the technicians always were professional and did a great job. Now it has gotten very loud, the technicians are always talking to each other while they are working on you, sometimes they even shout across the room at each other. They aren't as attentive and the quality has suffered. Although, I would say the service is still fair but if you are looking for a more quiet, relaxing experience, I would definitely look elsewhere. read more

$33.00 for a mani-pedi?? That's insane!! This was a mediocre job at best. I will stick to my neighborhood salon that charges $22.00.

I was previously going to another salon since the age of 16, now i am 22 but my girl started to get to busy and would rush through my nails and got a bit sloppy, and my shape started to suffer the consequences. So i tried the salon across the street not expecting get anything amazing but actually found this woman who understood exactly what i wanted and delivered! But i went back and they had fired her i settled and took another try but they fired that one tooo! So my now fiancé picked me up and took me to Studio Nails on Ventura after lunch and thats where i met Vanessa! She did a fill for a party i was invited to and that was it I was in love! Shes now been doing my nails for 2 years and i couldn't be more happy with her service and my shape is on point and all those girls who go to those froo froo expensive salons keep asking me where i get my shape but im only telling you my secret its Vanessa at Studio Nails on Ventura Blvd. The atmosphere of the salon is great and its peaceful very classy and respectful! I have my alone time here and feel great after i get out and sometimes ill even treat myself to there 15 min back rub when im extra exhausted from the LA lifestyle. read more

If it's possible to give this place zero stars, I would be more than obliged. I'm so disappointed with the service my friend and I received at this place today. I have come to this nail salon a couple of times previously and never had any issues. A couple of weeks ago I decided I would buy my girlfriend a gift certificate for a pedi-spa that they famously offer. They have a row of quite a few spa chairs and they are always filled. This morning we went to use her gift certificate as well as additionally purchase a pedi-spa for myself. We got there at about 10am this morning (they open at 9:30am) and the place was pitch dark and closed. We figured we would run a couple of errands and just come back in an hour which we did. It was open and two massage pedicure chairs were open for us which they sat us in to start. Only one girl was available so my friend started her pedicure about 10 min before mine which is annoying but I know extremely common in places like this - we weren't in any rush. Upon sitting in our chairs they brought over the soapy water buckets to soak our feet in. I thought this was a bit odd considering we were sitting in a pedi-spa chair that already has a built-in water basin for a foot bath. I asked my pedicurist why we were using the bucket instead and she said something to do with health code, but she spoke very broken English and it was hard to fully understand what she was saying. So our pedicures went on for no more than 20 min each and I was surprised how quickly they were turning over customers one by one. The pedicure I've had before there was at least double the time, with massage, exfoliation and hot towels - A lot more pampering than what we got this time around which consisted of nothing special above and beyond their regular pedicure that they also have listed on their menu. Now I'm not usually a complainer but when I see that I'm being ripped off in some way, I will say something. I talked to the man behind the counter who I purchased my friend's gift certificate previously from explaining that I bought my friend a "spa pedicure" and this was NOT the spa pedicure. He said that we did have the spa pedicure since we sat in the massage chairs. He continued to say that if we had sat in the "other chairs" (the non-spa pedicure chairs where they do the manicures) that it would be the lower price. I told him that I was not paying the full price for just a basic pedicure only because we sat in "the special chair" and I wanted a refund back for the difference of the normal and spa pedicure on my friend's certificate. I also brought up the point that nobody said to us that we would only be getting a basic pedicure and be having to paying more. He was very set that he could not do it for us and saying that he was not the manager. I told him that I would like to speak with the manager but he was very adamant not to give me any more information - I almost felt Ilike was not the first customer with this complaint. Anyway, some of the other women receiving pedicures in the spa chairs overheard our conversation and became outraged that they as well were paying deluxe service prices for basic services. Needless to say, I'm sure the little man had more problems with other customers after we checked out. We will not be coming back ever. read more

They rush the process and don't pay attention to detail. Thus, the manicures rarely last more than a couple days. Don't bother. Your time would be better spent at a different nail salon. read more

Great service, clean, responsible, friendly

I've never had an unsatisfactory manicure or pedicure here, which is why it's become my go-to nail salon. They've got a very good selection of colors. All of the women are friendly and professional. Sometimes if it's not overly busy, one of them will go around and offer shoulder and neck massages (a dollar per minute, so if you feel like splurging it's worth it). They're the only place I trust to do a meticulous job on my gels -- I wouldn't recommend running in here if you're in a rush, but if you have some time to relax you'll walk out with perfect nails. read more

I honestly hardly ever have bad nail experiences so this review makes me bummed. I moved to this area so needed to find a new nail salon to go to because I wanted a nice manicure for my birthday over the weekend. I asked my close friend suggestions since she lived in the same area as well and she suggested Studio Nail salon. I show my manicurist a picture of exactly what I want, and as she starts to shape the nails, it looks nothing like the picture shown. I politely reminded her of the shape I wanted shown in the photo. She got mad at me because she had to start over a few nails and because I felt bad I apologized even though I had no reason to. It was uncomfortable the rest of the time as she barely tried to make my nails look good and the shapes were all uneven. My nails still didn't look like the photo shown and I was frustrated that she didn't care, so I just wanted to desperately leave at this point. When she was done painting my nails and put quick dry on them she got up and just said "sit there and let dry." No fan for me to dry nails, no lamp... just sitting there waving my hands to dry my nails. It was one of the weirdest nail experiences. Then when she told me it was $40 for just a set and paint, no gel?! I knew I wasn't coming back. I'm all for quality and paying for it but my nails didn't come close to worth $40 when I've paid for IMMACULATE manicures for $25 and give gratuitous tip in return. I wasn't treated with respect at all and she did a mediocre job. Disappointed that I chose this place for my birthday manicure. I won't be returning to this establishment. read more

3 stars because the work quality is good, unfortunately, their customer service is bad. I set my appt between 12:30-12:45pm (coming from La Canada Flintridge), I got there at 12:41pm & they said you're 11 minutes late, didn't give me the esthetician I originally requested, they started on my pedicure & didn't start on my manicure until 1:25pm when I had to leave before 2pm! I used to like this place but I've been for the last time. They filed my nails so hard that my fingertips are sore. Same with my heels. Also I'm not happy about the cleanliness. I was a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon and waited 20 minutes. Totally understandable. Calm vibe. Good massage chair. You are given fingerless gloves to wear over your hands during a gel polish. Lemon in the nail water. I had a good foot scrub for which I paid $8 - but it was hard labor on her part! read more

i had to sign up for yelp just because i wanted to write a review on this place. i love it. clean with good spa chairs and OPI nail polish, and they do such a good job. i paid $27 incl. tip for a pedi. she took her time, did such a precise job and massaged my feet to boot. i once let myself get talked into $50 worth of services so "did my own" for awhile, but they do such a better job than i could ever do. it's ok to say no to extras if they aren't in your budget right now. they have an ATM in back, and there are plenty of banks and CVS in walking distance if you need to grab cash first without ATM fees. they've always accommodated walk-ins whenever i've gone. read more

I have been coming here for a few years and absolutely love it! The ladies are professional and detailed. The place is clean and comfortable. I always walk away feeling happy with the experience. They have been like surgeons with my ingrown toenail, providing me with much relief. Their paint job is always careful and precise and I love the massages they give! I'm quite surprised to see the negative reviews about this place, it's as if they're writing about an entirely different business. Maybe the dissatisfied customers aren't happy anywhere they go and expect more for the price. The price in my opinion, is of excellent value. By the way, I don't appreciate the racist comments made about the ladies here speaking in Vietnamese. They speak enough English to do their jobs well. Why don't you try moving to a foreign country and learn a different language while working on people's ugly, entitled feet all day. read more
