I always get the Tiki chicken masala and bring extra rice and the sauce home so I can throw some rotisserie chicken in there the next day it's so delicious. The best part (for me) is that they have Vegan (and Vegetarian) options. On the menu! No asking the chef to make a dish that wasn't on the menu- that's Heaven right there. We had the Onion Pakora and the Uttapam for apps, and I had the Chana Masala for dinner...it was flavorful, fresh and the Onion Pakora was the best app I've had since I went Vegan a few years ago. Will no doubt become our go-to restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and the music adds such a nice background to the dining experience. The staff is attentive (your water glass will always be full) and they will answer all of your questions with enthusiasm and a smile. I am so glad there is an authentic Indian Restaurant near work! I love this cuisine but feel disappointed most of the time with the choices in the area; however Nirvana is truly great! We stopped here for lunch with co-workers and we were very happy that they had a buffet to satisfy us all. I was impressed by the décor and attentive disposition of the staff. The choices in the buffet were excellent; from salads, vegetarian and meat.. The Bastami rice was delicious, I also sampled Paneer Chana, Chana Masala and my favorite Rogan Josh! My wife and I happened to find the restaurant by accident and we are glad we did. We're not from the area and our original choice on restaurants had too long of a wait was too long for what we needed. We saw the restaurant from the road as we were driving by the shopping center. Surprised at how busy they are on a rainy Monday. This must be a really good restaurant, anticipating a great meal. But was disappointed mostly on service, or the lack of. The place is a little too dark for my liking. A few tables are still not cleaned up after the guests had already left. After waited thirty minutes to get our food order, we know they are understaffed. The food was very good. Perfect Naan, red curry chicken and curry shrimps are both delicious. The chefs hail from both the northern part and the southern part of India so they can make anything and the menu is quite extensive. I've been to this restaurant several times over the past few years but hadn't been for over a year. I'd previously had positive experiences, but this time, the service and even some of the food was super disappointing. When we arrived, the restaurant was only maybe a quarter full, but our server seemed annoyed to be taking our order and was rushing us through it (we weren't taking an inordinately long time - we knew what we wanted but had a couple of questions). After taking our order, he never returned to check on us, not even to deliver the check. What seemed like an assistant server, who was lovely, came by to refill our water pitcher at one point, so we had to ask her for the dessert menu and the check. When providing the credit card for the check, a different main server or host came over to take it. In the moment he came by to pick it up, our bag of leftovers tipped over and fell off the table. Thankfully, nothing spilled out, but he just looked at the bag as it fell then took the book with the credit card and walked away, saying nothing. I didn't expect him to bend over and help us pick it up, but it was bizarre he didn't acknowledge it, even to say "oh no!". In terms of the food, I found the Aloo pakora to be pretty tasteless and the mango lassi somehow off. They were out of almost all the dessert options, so we didn't order any. Chicken korma and saag paneer were good. Eventually, the place was packed, so, clearly, most people seem to have a better experience than we had. I just can't get over how aloof/annoyed the main servers were. Very disappointing as it didn't seem like it was just an "off night" given we experienced the same behavior from both main servers we encountered, so I'd not go back. read more

Celebrated my birthday with the family at Nirvana this past Sunday. What a wonderful dinner. Service and pacing were perfect and the food was great! We started with Calamari Cochin, Kalmi Kabab, and Samosas and everything was delicious. Entrees consisted of Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Fish Moilee which were all perfectly cooked and well spiced. After settling the bill the generous host treated the table to two orders of Gulab Jamun because he saw it was a birthday celebration. What a kind and generous offer that was much appreciated. I have no idea why this restaurant has so many positive reviews. I came here with high expectations and left sorely disappointed. It's very cramped, and my friend and I asked to be moved to a different table, only to have someone be seated next to us about 15 minutes later. We started off with complimentary papad, mango lassi and samosas. The papad was good- you can't screw that up. The mango lassi didn't taste like mango and more like cream and yogurt. The samosas were average tasting and didn't have much flavor or spice. I ordered the chicken tandoori, and my friend ordered chicken tikka. The chicken tandoori had a problem I've come across several times while ordering this dish- it was too wet. I like my tandoori anything to be a bbq style- not wet and mushy but grilled. The chicken tikka was sweet; I know there's sugar in the recipe, but this was way too much. I have no idea what happened there. The naan was great- absolutely no complaints there, but if I had wanted to eat just naan, I obviously would have gone somewhere by me. Overall, I did not enjoy the meal with the prices I paid, and I would definitely think twice before coming back. read more

A show stopper. Bagari Shrimp devine. Shrimp cooked perfectly with a nice bite. 6 nicely sized pieces. Sauce was so fabulous I was eating it with a spoon. We ordered 2 lamb dishes....Rogan Josh and Lamb Madras. Both fantastic!!! The cubes of lamb in both dishes were fork tender. Nicely sized portion. Neither dish was too spicy/hot. Just right. Rogan Josh is in a rich and hearty sauce, full of flavor and a wonderful blend of spices. Lamb Madras sauce is lighter with a subtle hint of coconut in the sauce (sauce isn't sweet), full of flavor and a wonderful blend of spices. Onion Naan was served steaming hot stuffed with a generous amount of onions and cilantro. A generous portion...fresh and so flavorful....a very special naan. Amazing dishes and gorgeous restuarant. Ive now come here twice with my husband to dine and both times we had exceptional meals. The first time we tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Korma along with the best Garlic Naan ive ever had. The second time we went for the Tikka Masala again and had the server suggest a second dish to us. The staff is so friendly and when we got containers to take home leftovers the server brought us out freshly packed rice to bring home too. Several months ago, I was invited by a friend and his sister out to Nirvana for the first time for all of us. We were totally all blown away. Last night, I took my father, who has been to many Indian restaurants, as well as myself. Again, both of us were totally blown away. Everything on the menu that we ordered was five star quality. I recommend the tamarind eggplant appetizer. A little spicy but DELICIOUS! I ordered the tandoori medley. Everything was delectable. The Naan. The Mango Lassi. EVERYTHING was delicious. My father and I-and my two friends- all agreed that this was THE BEST Indian restaurant we've ever been to! The staff and decor are very welcoming.
