I would not come here again. We were in town for a wedding and had some time to spare so we decided to get a massage. We usually get Thai massages back home so we were excited to see that the first option in the services menu is a Thai massage. It was a Friday morning so I called to make sure they had enough staffing for two 1.5 hour massages, and was happy they were able to accommodate. We show up and was greeted by a lady who sat us down on the sofa. She shows us the brochure and we point to the massages we wanted and she immediately went into a shark mode to try to get us to add on to our massage. Her first attempt was this oil we can add in for $10 which she claimed was "very good"--I had no idea what it is and don't want it, so I politely declined. Then she tries to get me to add in a scrub to my massage, to which I declined because the massage I wanted includes a body scrub already. She walks us into the back and tells us that we can have private rooms next to each other, which will be an add-on because it's extra service. At this point my bf and I were scratching our head because he's getting a foot massage, and the room she brought us to was not set up for foot massage. At this point my bf and I felt like we were either misunderstood or she was just throwing anything out there to see what we will take. So we asked to see the brochure and pointed to the service we wanted and confirmed the price with her. He goes outside to the common area for his foot massage and I stay in the room. The same lady then tells me she has an essential oil for an add-on for when I lay face down. *face palm* I appreciate the hustle but please just stop! I feel bad I keep turning her down but I do like feeling like I'm constantly being upsold. I wish we just cut our massages short because the masseuse did not have good technique. For the hour and a half, I felt like I was just getting massage oil spread over my body or that I was biting down my lips because I was in pain (not the good kind, when the technique is precise, to the point, and intentional). If you do decide to come, just make sure you be firm with the service you want because the lady will try to throw all sorts of add-ons. read more

My friend and I have been coming to Nirvana for about 7 years now and have always loved it. Unfortunately it appears they changed management or something because the usual lady at the front was no longer there when we came in. The massage was fine (started late, stopped early) but upon checking out up front and handing the cash tip over the lady working the register said "no good" (what?!). I responded "no good? As in the tip you were given?" First off, we always make sure to pay in cash for the services to help the business out and ANY tip in general is always extra gratuity!! Not to mention my massage started later than my friend and ended at the same time as hers.. I keep note of such things when it comes to tipping. Regardless we were appalled to be shamed for the tip! Upon explaining we always tip this amount and my massage was shorter than my friends, she responded shaking her head saying "we work so hard" I was in utter shock and said frankly that I could take the tip back if they would like me to. After I said that she simply took the cash and didn't reply. This was such an uncomfortable experience for both my friend and I who have been loyal customers for many years. A customer should never be shamed for leaving ANY TIP EVER!! Saying "no good" regarding a customers tip to the customer's face is absolutely appalling. If you need to raise the prices then raise them! Shame to say we will NOT be returning and will be taking our business to a new location going forward. I wanted to like this place because I liked the masseuse, but the receptionist who took my payment just ruined the whole experience for me. She's money hungry, disrespectful, a liar, and absolutely ungrateful. I asked them before my massage if I can use my card to pay and they said yes. After I finished my massage and was changing i back unto my clothes, I heard someone asked to pay with their card and they did and completed the transaction. When I went up to pay, she asked me how am I paying and I said credit card. (Doesn't even ask me how the massage was or if i enjoyed the service.) she then does this pretend act saying "oh actually the card machine is not working, so here's our Venmo and you can pay there or pay in cash." All of a sudden it doesn't work lol. Obviously they're trying not to pay taxes by having every other customer pay cash specifically, then occasionally having a credit card payment. I told her I didn't have enough cash for a big tip and the bill, that's why I asked earlier if I can pay the bill on my card , so I can give her a tip in cash. The lady doesn't care and says Venmo or cash. So now I'm being forced to use my cash, and was lied to, so now the tip is smaller. When I give her my money she says "that's it? Tip is supposed to be 20%." EXCUSE ME???? A TIP IS A TIP. Get it through your head that a tip is OPTIONAL out of GRATUITY. So I explained to her again that since she lied, I had to use cash which it came out of her tip. She then proceeded to try to argue with me about giving her a bigger tip and trying to make a scene in front of other customers to try to embarrass me. I told her that's all I'm giving ESPECIALLY with this awful service. I should've taken back my entire tip since apparently they don't appreciate tips. They're already trying to pay under the table by using ONLY VENMO AND CASH. The least they could do is appreciate their customers for going along with it instead of getting money hungry. They seriously need to be inspected by the IRS. read more

However, as I was checking out, Ivy, the masseuse makes a comment "tip would be cash only" When I tipped her $10 she said it should be 20% of the amount, well I guess she was expecting a $20 tip. I believe in tipping as a reward for your service. Not a must do! I don't have to tip you. Even 5 star hotels do not hold you accountable this way to tip for a massage. My tip is my choice and It is the amount I want to give. It's my right as a costumer to make that decision. Too bad! My experience was like a candid camera experience. I had the misfortune of getting a military like massage therapist (female). She started my massage by ambushing me with the menu and telling me what massage I needed to do. I wanted the regular foot massage and she told me I needed the combination. After 5 min of arguing with her I just said yes. She was horrible. If I put my hands in the wrong place she quickly moved them. They up sell everyone who comes in as I observed. The manager told me that she has told the owner the therapist I had was terrible and they don't fire her. I'm not into massage places that have massage therapists whose motive is selling, then give a terrible massage. The manager is crazy! Don't go here! read more
