Boring. Don't believe them when they say New York style. They do sell by the slice which is their main redeeming feature.

Mediocre pizza but when your not from town you take what you can get. The last time I was in town (August) the website said they were open and they weren't answering their phones. I ordered elsewhere. The staff are young and seemed to interested in other things besides customer. Update 1/31/25 Was in town and decided to try again. Ordered an hour, said it be ready at 5:30. Showed up at said time and hadn't even started it. Avoid this place if you're hungry. read more

Pizza is forgettable and a bit pricier than I'd hoped. Two slices and a fountain soda were like $7.73 total. Not worth it. Five bucks worth it? Yeah. But, I don't think Nino's has much competition so they aren't afraid to charge. Loss of one star as I called to get a delivery pie to a local brewery where my friend and I were partaking and Nino's doesn't do delivery. What pizza joint doesn't deliver these days? Crazy. So yeah, if you've gotta have a pizza, Nino's is fine, but this is by nooooo stretch at all a go to pizza joint. I'd only go here under the circumstances that I actually did; I was hungry for pizza and I had no other choice. Almost all of their ready made sliced pizzas were vegetarian option only. Lame. I typically like meat on my pizza. They have frozen pizzas to go by the way, but I wouldn't expect too much from them if I were you. read more

We stopped here on vacation as we were recommended pizza by a local. We were unsure since we didn't want to order a whole pizza and have a ton of leftovers, but were delighted to see they offered "by the slice". My boyfriend got a couple pepperoni slices and I got a margherita-garlic type slice. The young man working the counter was kind enough to ask if I wanted a separate box for the meat pizza (I am vegetarian and my boyfriend is not). The crust was delicious and the pizza itself was so flavorful. Overall, I would recommend for a quick pizza night. read more

It was waaaaaaaay overpriced for what it is, though-- you can go to American Flatbread for the same price and get much better pizza. Rude girl working the counter, awful cheese slices, bugs everywhere (both dead and alive) near the tiny seating area (a dirty counter and some bar stools that look like yard sale rejects). Awesome pizza joint run by a cool young couple. Great thin crust and sicilian pies with fresh ingredients. Fairly priced with fast and friendly service. RRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrAMUNTO's! Oh yes, Ramunto's definitely took the town of Middlebury by storm when it opened next to Bev Co. in 2005. Before that date, it was nearly impossible to imagine another pizza place giving the towering empire of Neil & Otto's a run for its money. But the legend of Ramunto's blew through Midd faster than the blizzard of '03 and soon enough townies and college kids alike were trekking down to Ramunto's in their galoshes and snowshoes just for a piece of that pie. Meaty and zesty, Ramunto's buffalo chicken pizza embodied all that N&O's pizza styx were not. While I have to salute Ramunto's for serving as the solitary bastion of capitalism in Middlebury, introducing the concept of business competition into the quaint Vermont town, it unfortunately fell victim to the Green Mountain State's laid-back approach to customer service. Often times a Sicilian pizza would take up to an hour and half to craft. Were they going out back to milk the dairy cow, process the cheese, pluck the tomatoes, harvest the wheat, defeather and behead the chickens, and then bake it all in the oven? No matter how you slice it, a pizza should not take over an hour to make, especially if it's not being delivered. read more

This is some of the most overhyped pizza I have ever experienced. We tried both the "sicilian" and thin crusts, and I have gotten better pizzas from a freezer. Over-priced and with a sauce reminiscent of tomato paste straight from the can, this pizza represents so much what can be wrong with pizza and the food scene in Middlebury. The olives were put on the pizza whole, the sausage was bland, and the pepperoni tasteless. On the plus side, the crust was only mediocre and not actively bad. read more

Best Pizza in Town! Ramunto's has great Sicilian pizza, I realize not everybody likes pizza this way but if you do, you won't be disappointed. We order 5 pizza's for a party of ours awhile back and I happened to be speaking to the manager trying to figure out how much food to get. We has very helpful and ended up giving us the 5th pizza on the house. For the few people that visit Middlebury and want Sicilian pizza, don't hesitate. Service is great, though they don't rush the pizza. There is almost always a wide selection in the slice case, and the monthly specials range from good to heavenly (the smoked meat pizza and the harvest special with beets and chèvre fall into the latter category). I've found almost all of their concoctions to taste fresh and flavorful, and think the quality of their ingredients (sauces included) is head and shoulders over most take-out pizza places. read more

Just a head's up off the jump: I believe Ramunto's is now known as Nino's Sicilian Pizza. So hopefully that clarifies or prevents confusion among out-of-towners. Ramunto's and Nino's are the same thing. As for the pizza itself, it was a lifesaver for a starving human staying 10 miles outside of town. Both pie options -- Sicilian (square) and New York (thin body, full crust/shape) -- are massive. I believe the Sicilian was in the ballpark of $18.00 for a full 'za but again, considering the size, the price makes sense. Even with three people digging in to various degrees, we had abundant leftovers. Also worth noting: this isn't really a dine-in place. There may have been a small countertop area if I recall so if you just want to mash on a slice or two you should be good to go. Otherwise: order, pick-up, depart, savor. Whether you call it Ramunto's or Nino's, I call it the best gosh darn pizzeria in western middle Vermont. read more

I have been going to Ramunto's since David Nienow opened the restaurant nearly 10 years ago. And if I wasn't from NYC and hadn't spent half my life eating some of the best slices of pizza in the world, I would have given Ramunto's five stars instead of four. Now I am not a big proponent of buffalo chicken or Hawaiian pineapple or hunks of broccoli and spinach on my pizza; I delight in the simple union of crust, sauce, and cheese when all three are prepared to perfection, and Ramuntos almost always hits the mark. One slice of the Sicilian pie is a delightful meal in itself, but my favorite selection at Ramunto's is the plain-cheese New York style, especially when you get a slice right out of the oven! Delicious! And take my advice: get two slices (and a free soda fountain drink) and the rest of your day will be just fine. A final note to first-time visitors: this is strictly a take-out place. There are no tables or bathrooms. But the pizza is so much better at Ramunto's than any other place in a 25-mile radius, that it's not uncommon to see three or four cars or trucks in the parking lot with people inside devouring their pizza. A few years ago either when they were still Rumunto's or just changed to Nino'sI ordered a pie on a Sunday. It was massive, tasted good, and overall a great deal! I was eager to try their other yummy sounding offerings. I've tried to order no less than 5 times since then on various week and weekend days. Every time they were closed, seemingly coinciding when Middlebury college was in recess. Like a Friday in the summer? The final straw that prompted me to write this review was tonight. On a Saturday night, they were closed. Their voice mail message said their regular hours are Monday through Thursday and Friday. But not Saturday? It's a good pizza. If you can get it. read more

I used to love this place when it was Rumunto's Sicilian Pizza, but I find since it's been taken over by new owners and changed names it's gone downhill a bit. The pizza is more or less the same, but trying to get some food around any holiday weekend is next to impossible. As someone who isn't from the area, but comes to visit family around Memorial Day, Christmas, etc it's almost always closed for extended periods of time, and until recently with NO message on their phone when you call. Was in town again for Christmas and tried calling on December 23rd.. They aren't open, and won't open until January 9th! For this reason, I'm not going to even try getting a pizza from this joint in the future. read more

THE place for pizza in Middlebury--although it's take out only. The staff is really into what they do and they have some unique combos including beet, caramelized onion and goat cheese. Brilliant--but seasonal. I like the thin crust but they make Sicilian. Price is right too. Wish they had ice for the soda, though. I wish I lived closer. read more
