Sushi and Sashimi Combo Lunch Special
    Mel T.

*Quarantine Pick-up Review* We ordered through DoorDash for pickup after our bi-weekly grocery run. Decided to order enough for lunch and dinner (plus, we had a coupon, so why not?) We had the Tiger roll (white tuna, salmon, crunch and spicy mayo, topped with tuna, salmon, BBQ eel, avocado, and black tobiko), Ninja Lunch Roll Combo (tuna avocado, yellowtail jalapeño, salmon avocado), Sushi and Sashimi Combo (5 pcs of sushi 8 pcs of sashimi, yellowtail scallion roll), and the Salmon Lover (4 pcs salmon sushi & spicy salmon roll). Anything listed under the lunch specials come with a soup AND a salad. I was just happy that they even offered lunch specials on the weekend. All the rolls were great - perfect rice to fish ratio. I was a little iffy about the Tiger roll because in my past experiences at similar sushi places, special rolls are just meh - they usually have too much going on. But this one worked! Even though I don't even like eel, so that is saying something. The app said it would take 20-30 minutes, which was accurate. Would definitely order for pick-up from here again. Too bad it's too far for delivery. But then maybe that's a good thing because then I'd probably go broke ordering from here all the time.

Ninja sushi has quickly become our go-to sushi spot. I'm a special roll gal, and these do not disappoint. They are absolutely amazing works of art. They have a huge variety of sushi rolls. The fish is always fresh and plentiful. Some of the rolls come with this sweet and creamy mango sauce that's fantastic. We've only ever ordered through doordash and delivery has always been quick. Some of my personal favorites that I find myself continuing to order are the dancing Wasai, 2 die 4, hot mama, tiger, and sunshine rolls. They have the most inventive and tasty combinations. Definitely go check them out. You'll be glad you did!

Ordered pick up from this spot during a business trip. I was craving sushi and saw they have a riceless roll so I thought I'd give it a try. I was very pleased with how fresh the fish was and the portion size of the roll. The service was quick and friendly. Everything was on point with this roll in the carpaccio. I definitely recommend if you're craving some casual good sushi!

Everything was fresh and clean. The menu had many tempting classic and special rolls. Trying to eat healthy, we went with simple dishes without any fried ingredients. What left a bad taste in our wallet was the micro small portion of the Tuna/ Salmon "Don" compared to the adequate portion of the sashimi Deluxe for only $3 more. After finishing our dishes, we needed to order $20 more of food so we didn't leave hungry. We will go back, but will avoid ordering the Don (which, by definition, Donburi should be served in a bowl as well). The sashimi Deluxe was an excellent choice though, and we look foward to trying the special rolls in the future.

I was in the mood for Japanese cuisine so wanted to try this place out. I called in a order of vegetable udon without egg. The lady over the phone was pleasant. When I arrived I parked on the street and waked in. The lady asked if I was picking up and went to the back to get my food. I paid about $12.35 for the udon and it came with a side salad. When I got home I dug in. The salad was fresh but I used my own dressing because I am not a fan of theirs. The udon was very good. I will be back.

Sweet Potato Roll & Crispy Chicken Roll

Ordered two rolls through Doordash. They prepared it quick. I got the Sweet Potato Tempura Roll and Chicken Tempura Roll with spicy mayo on the side. Sushi looked super appetizing and both were very crispy and yummy. I recommend the sweet potato roll if you're vegetarian and looking for a good veggie roll!

I was always skeptical about sushi as I am a vegetarian but ninja sushi made sushi a favorite for me. The workers are sometimes a little rude over the phone so I'll tip less but the food quality is still good. They have raised their prices but the lunch special is a nice deal. I have gone their many times with friends and loved it. Sweet potato tempura roll hits every time.

Yuki is fantastic. She is extremely sweet and very attentive. This BYOB offers an incredible array of Japanese and Fusion appetizers and entrees. The Specialty Rolls are incredible and extremely diverse.

My boyfriend and I were in a rush for time and stopped at Ninja Sushi. Our food came out quickly (and the presentation was beautiful) plus our servers made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed! Really enjoyed our dinner tonight and will be returning for sure!

It was my first time doing karaoke and I honestly don't know that I would do it again. We booked a karaoke room for an hour for 6 people on a Thursday evening, and while the singing was fun, the service was below subpar. When we arrived, we did not have a full menu available to us in the room, so it took a few mins to get our order in. Our server kept close tabs of every minute in karaoke, but not the food. It took over 60 minutes to get our wings! Apparently there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen & while we were understanding, what threw us for a loop was that even though our wings were DELAYED, our server was hesitant to offer complimentary time in our karaoke room while we waited. Right at the 60-minute mark, he was quick to offer two options - our wings to go or a table in the dining room. In the end, we had to negotiate an extra hour in the karaoke room since our food took SO long to come out. When paying the check, we were surprised to see a charge for food we never ever received! I'm super disappointed that they tried to take advantage of us, when we were very understanding of their mix up. In my opinion, servers could use a lesson or two in customer service. Never in my time in hospitality, have I ever behaved in the way they did.

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I also felt sorry for the hostess, who was running around trying to help. There also was 5 people just standing around chatting, but the music was just a tad too loud to hear anyone trying to get their attention. I'm sure dining in would be a chill vibe, but can still have that and have it all together yk? Last thing is I definitely asked for bacon mustard sauce and heard them confirm over the phone, a bit annoyed they forgot that!

There was a large (and disruptive) party next to us and it seemed like the place was understaffed as our server wasn't able to attend to us much and he seemed frazzled. For appetizers, we had the vegetable gyozas and fried wontons. Both were pretty unimpressive and I wouldn't order them again. I ordered the tempura udon for my entrée which came with a bowl of miso soup which was pretty good. One of my friends got the D.E. warrior roll which was quite pricey (~$30) and was chewy since all the meat was cooked. My udon was decent and came with two shrimp tempuras and two broccoli tempura as well. However, I wasn't a fan of the spinach that came inside the soup. This is sort of "part 2" to my review of my July 4th movie going experience. As we left the theater…read morein Manville on that brutally hot day, my old friend abruptly brought up the fact that he still owed me a meal for driving him up to Paramus a few months ago so he could buy a used car. At the time, he told me he'd buy me dinner for helping him out. I told him he didn't need to buy me dinner. If I can help someone...friend, family member or acquaintance...I'll do it out of the goodness of my heart, not because I'm expecting a recompense. He insisted he was buying me dinner. Being that it was July 4th, and I doubted any restaurant would be open, I was suspicious that his offer was a conman's grift to get out of buying me food. Then again, he had brought it up. I felt guilty for doubting his sincerity. We drove to restaurants in Gillette and Basking Ridge. All closed. We went to Gabriel's Fountain in Martinsville, where we had previously eaten. We saw people and assumed it was open. As it turned out, they were only serving ice cream, not regular food. I love ice cream, but given I had eaten a tub of popcorn, a box of cookie dough candy, and a Coke just an hour or so previously, I wasn't really in the mood for ice cream. Truth be told, I wasn't in the mood for food period. But I thought I could down a bowl of soup somewhere and relieve my friend of this burden of "payback." So we soldiered on. Miraculously, a diner was open in New Providence. My friend didn't want diner food. In Murray Hill, we found an open Chinese restaurant that looked relatively cheap. My friend didn't feel like Chinese food. He checked his phone and said there were 3 restaurants in Summit that were open for business, and they had good reviews. At that point, I just wanted to go home to my air-conditioned domicile and crash, but...we continued on. In Summit, 2 of the restaurants he had read about on his phone were closed. The 1 that was actually open had a line in front of it a half mile long. I said, "I'm not standing on line in this heat for anything. Let's just go..." "Look, try the main street! There has to be something open!" On Summit's Springfield Ave., we parked on the street (no parking meter tolls on this holiday). Some people were out and about on the street, and some places actually did look like they might be open. In spite of his earlier expressed antipathy towards the partaking of Chinese food on this torturous (weather-wise) evening, my friend steered us through the open doors of Blossom Asian Bistro. The restaurant is spacious and modernistically furnished. We were seated and after 1 look at the menu, my friend said, "I can't pay for you tonight-- not at these prices!" I knew it would be pointless to remind him of the cheap prices at the Murray Hill Chinese place he had rejected, so I didn't. And then, I don't know what weird impulse took hold of me--- I wasn't really hungry, I didn't have a lot of money on me, and eating a massive amount of food like I was still 20 years old can set my increasingly precarious digestion absolutely and embarrassingly haywire, but I decided to order a meal in addition to the soup. Call it the "Imp of the Perverse," or maybe I'm just a gluttonous food addict. I thought, "I can fast tomorrow." Service was friendly, prompt. We both ordered the Chicken Wonton Soup, and I was pleasantly surprised. The broth was tasty, not salty, and the wontons, light and delicate...not at all like the doughy, heavy ones that I'm accustomed to (which I still love in spite of their doughy heaviness), were delicious. I ordered the cheapest item on the menu (can't remember what my friend ordered, but he liked it, whatever it was). For me, it was Sesame Chicken, described on the menu as "white meat chicken fried with lotus flour in sweet tangy sesame sauce." I'm not sure what "lotus flour" is, but the dish was served with brown rice, and I enjoyed every mouthful. The food was fresh, prepared with real care, and was eminently enjoyable. The prices were expensive, but then this is Summit. I think it comes with the territory. And the food was very good. Sometimes (oftentimes) you do pay for what you get. If I have a negative to offer, it's that the temperature inside bordered on being uncomfortable. The Reading Theater in Manville had felt like an icebox, but at Blossom, I was 1 step away from breaking into an unsightly sweat. I didn't, but I thought at these prices, the place should be cooler on such a brutally hot day than it was. Given my previous consumption of popcorn and candy, I wasn't in the mood for dessert (or maybe it was my stomach indicating to me, "I've been merciful so far today, but you order dessert now on top of everything else you've eaten, and I really AM gonna embarrass you! Big time!"). We paid and left. I promised my rebellious stomach I would fast the next day. And did. Definitely recommended. When I'm flush, I'd like to come back and try 1 of the more expensive dishes. With a dessert.

The appetizers, like the piping hot vegetable lumpia and their humongous portion of Halo-halo as dessert are highly recommended by me and other reviewers. When we dined at this place, the whole staff gave me a feeling as if I was eating at an aunt's house, with the owner and staff providing very welcoming, family-style care. I have been living in NY for more than 30 years, have already eaten in so many low and high-end Filipino restaurants, in terms of food quality and taste, I may say this by far is the best that I have experienced. If given the chance to be in New Jersey again, I will definitely, 100% be back to this place for their delicious and flavorful food. Some of my companions point out that the seating area is relatively small, which can lead to limited availability during peak times, and a few note the interior decor is fairly plain but it did not matter to me because the food that I ordered/tried were great and amazing (properly spiced, cooked very well and soooooooo delicious!! ). Food portions are generous, presentation was appetizing and excellent, staff service was attentive and great ( I noticed that our water glasses were always filled up which is a service very consistent in so many high-priced restaurants that I have been ). Table setting is good, food utensils and plates were very clean ( yes, I checked it! ). That sadly was the best part of the night. We ordered; 8 AYCE and 2 ordered ala carte. My wife's vegetarian and doesn't eat much and my mom doesn't eat raw sushi and ordered the teriyaki shrimp. 1. The service is horrible. We waited 20mins to get our first appetizers. The waitress just dropped off plates and didn't explain what they were. My mom noticed the table next to us ordered what she got and a few minutes later, the waitress asked if she received her entree, which she replied no, and then she went to the table next to us and grabbed their plate and brought it back to the kitchen. We assume they reheated and replated the dish because it was way overcooked. 2. Long wait. Some items didn't arrived after over an hour and we asked about them multiple times. As we were ordering our 2nd round, we just reordered them. We got our waters refilled often but they never checked in to see if we were receiving our food or if we wanted to order more. Like they didn't ask one time. 3. Lost in translation. My parents are immigrants, so I am pretty understanding but the waitress didn't understand much of what I was saying and when I asked for extra ginger while pointing at it she looked very confused. I also asked her what a few items were when she brought them, and she didn't respond. 4. 10% coupon: don't bother trying to use the 10% off coupon from their own website. When we asked for the check, I showed her the coupon and she looked confused like I made it up and I let her know it was from their website under "coupons". She went to the back to ask about it and returned to say it was for online orders only. I mentioned that the coupon doesn't have any fine print except it can't be used with any other offers, and she didn't try to help at all which was frustrating. At the end of the day, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food quality was ok except for my mom getting a reheated meal. But the service was terrible. It sucks to have to wait so long for food and things coming out randomly and my son and wife waiting over an hour for their items while others are pretty much done.
