She is extremely knowledgeable, kind , answers questions but she also tells you what you need to know. I have worked in the Medical Field over 25 years working with Physicians and other medical staff. She is Intelligent, skilled, she is strong and assertive (not aggressive) ,Compassionate, answers questions She has been a successful professionally & athletic life ( you will see that by her pictures). She knows what any injury is like - she has been through it! After my surgery in February by the Physician that sent me to her originally I returned to him - my hand much worse (uncommon after Ulnar Nerve Entrapment surgery) and I have severe muscle loss And my hand begun "claw". I was sent back to her thinking it may be from my shoulder. She was incredible then! Highly recommend her! She is much more than an EMG Person! She is a Specialist in the Spine! If she cares this much about me and the function she of my muscles- think of how great she is with your Spine! I wish I would have seen her the first time I had difficulty with my low back! I have seen her working with them !

The few I had found in network didn't have anything available. I was lucky enough to get in to see Dr. Thomas within a day. First visit I was quickly accessed and a STAT MRI was ordered. I came in two days later (due to the weekend) to go over my results and get surgery scheduled. Mostly everything went smooth before surgery. My surgery was scheduled fairly quick because I already had met my deductible for the end of the year and wanted it done quick as possible. So the good thing about this place is it is fairly easy to get an appointment, they check a lot things before surgery like genetic dispositions, set you up with equipment you need, etc. I am a fan of Dr. Thomas's work on my knee. It has been healing nicely. However, I am not a fan of his overall personality or demeaner. This has a lot to do with an issue I encountered with billing. I have a medical background, I also have dealt with insurance companies on a lot of issues with billing, and I am not a pushover. I will refuse to pay for something if it is warranted. Dr. Thomas and I discussed the billing issue and it was sorta resolved. He mentioned the issue will be made aware for future patients so they don't incurred costs that were not dicussesd.

Not to mention that they called me to schedule the appointment and got me in within 24 hours. Talk about All-Star Service! The x-ray technician was very helpful. She knew I was in pain and did her best to make the x-ray process easy. Dr. Thomas's nurse practitioner was informative and very sympathetic to my pain. I informed them that I was training for a half marathon and they catered my referral to a physical therapist that would work best with my needs. I did have to get a steroid shot into my back and as much as it hurt - like super badly - Dr. Thomas actually made it easy for me to forget that a large needle was inside my back.

I pulled a muscle during speed training just before Christmas. I backed off and thought I was in the clear on 12/30, but I spent New Year's Eve on a cane. It was an absolutely acute pain and 2 weeks before the run. Too late to defer, so sit out or attempt the run? I had to try. I got an appointment at the end of the first week in January and a follow up just before the race. Doctor's orders were to skip any training in hopes that it would be good enough for my goal to finish. I had given up on any competitive hopes of the run and thought it would be miracle enough to start and finish. I showed up to the race corral with a sensation in the strained muscle but no pain. I decided to start and see how far I could go. I was feeling good and ran a somewhat decent pace for the first half of the race. The sun came out some at 13 miles, combined with the humidity and warm temperature that day and couple of weeks without a run, so the competitive level of the run was finished, but I made it across the finish line in a sloppy 4:22. BUT the goal was a miracle finish given hope late the injury occurred. I am very pleased with Dr. Papas's guidance and strategic approach. He kept the possibilities grounded and realistic, but we pressed on for the goal of a marathon start and finish. As Vince Young put it after a sloppy UT win in 2005, " It was ugly, but a W is a W. "

Well, if that's you this yelp review, it's not meant for you to comment on or to read. If you're a minority and you're looking for good, reputable and caring medical advice and medical attention Austin. Regional clinic, far west, it's not the facility for you. I feel now when I come here. I do not get the best advice or attention. My visits here lasts no longer than 10 to 15 minutes. When we all know when you go to the doctor whether it's for physical checkup or any type of illness that you're having, you're going to have someone really, truly looking to you.And see what's going on with you to make sure everything is right. I come here and pay them a coffee of $30. Only to be out of the facility within 10 to 15 minutes. And that's after taking a day off from work rearranging, my life to fulfill my appointment time. The news about the treatment of minorities in the healthcare system. It's not fake news, you can sit back and watch. Certain doctors interact with white patients and watch them interact with minority patience and see it totally different interaction.. I'm not saying that anyone is racist, but what I am saying is that these doctors do not feel comfortable and assist in you. And giving you the best medical advice. Living in Austin, you don't find too many black doctors. You gotta go to Houston, you gotta go to Dallas. You gotta go to big urban cities to find good reputable medical doctors. So that's my warning to you. If you have felt that same type of treatment, don't be afraid to speak out about it. Let every day one no, including Austin. Regional clinic, I am ending. I don't care with them and taking my health business. It's a scott and white.

I have done a LOT of physical therapy in my life. I have had 5 spine fusions and 2 other back…read moresurgeries before those fusions. This is my favorite place. This time, I am going because of knee pain. I put off addressing the issue because it felt silly. I tend to "push through" pain, work it, and it will ease off or go away. THAT has NOT been the case this time. No. My knee has decided that it requires a little more attention. Hmph. I had an X-ray done and it showed that everything was "fine". But an X-ray only demonstrates what the BONES look like; not the ligaments. A CT has been ordered, but I want to wait to see what PT will do. The problem is that I have an incomplete spinal cord injury, and minimal use of my right leg and foot. Therefore, I can't drive. I am only able to get to physical therapy once a week when my husband is able to take me. Results Physical Therapy was able to accommodate me with 1 remote PT appointment per week as well as one in the office. COOL! Not only that, they were able to get me in quickly for BOTH appointments. While I do have a spinal cord injury, permanent nerve damage, permanent dysfunction, and other fun junk, because, let's face it, I'm an overachiever and when I mess things up, I GO BIG! I am ALSO active. I walk 4-5 miles a day with our equally hyperactive dogs, I swim in season for 90 minutes a day, rarely missing as I am CERTAIN I must have born with gills, hiking, canoeing, and I can start free weights now that I am cleared to do so as per my neurosurgeon. I am very protective of my left leg because of the lack of function in my right. This issue with my left knee is just NOT going to work. I tried everything on my own- taping it, swimming, cutting back on exercise and walking- nothing worked. I am so happy I found this practice. Kassandra is my PT person and she is as hyper as I am. We are a good fit. She sings, she dances, and she is FUN. She explains the exercises clearly, and sends me home with "homework" after each session. I work with Jessica for remote appointments and she is also amazing. I do the exercises each day- incorporating them into my regular exercise in the morning and then, in the evening, just working my hips, legs, and knees. I'm already getting better! I need to say, I have NOT had good experiences with most of the places I have been to for PT. This? This is amazing. I highly recommend them. The energy of the practice is good, the physical therapists are really nice- all of them, and the patients are heard. Compassion is the name of their game. They have a new system for checking in at the desk. You need to put your information in on the computer, the screen is LARGE, and wide. There were patients that didn't like that everyone behind them can see their name and birthday. Here's the deal, if you stand right in FRONT of the screen, no one can see your information. Before this, it was on a clipboard anyway, and for everyone to see! For the first person in the seat across from the screen who *might* be able to see? They were averting their eyes anyway. The other patients I have met are all extremely kind as well. No worries. I prefer this than to have my information on a sheet. My thanks to this office, the receptionist, Kassandra, Jessica, and all the other physical therapists there who make the place what it is. PT is often HARD. It's important to have people who make it fun and who use compassion as well as kindness and humor.
