He was not only knowledgeable about how to treat her, he also made her very comfortable during some mandatory moments of discomfort. If I can give 10 stars I would! My daughter is an elite athlete and have been competing for over 7years once she turned black belt at an international level. She was diagnosed with additional bone near the balls of her hip joints (both sides!) and was told she needed to pick another sport by orthopedic surgeons. She used to experience extreme pain including loss of feeling down her entire leg at times causing her to not make it out of the Semi-final rounds as she got older and competition grew. Over many years of not knowing what was happening, she would be forced to stretch beyond her range of motion unknowingly, causing her entire pelvis to twist out of place to deal with the extreme pain of the bone on bone wear and tear on both of her hip joints. After working with many specialists, PT's and chiropractors for over 3yrs because she would not give up competing in the sport of choice, we thought that she would have to give up her dream of making the National Team. Then, we found Dr Arbuckle and in about year of therapy which helped her to continue to compete during that time with greater flexibility, she finally was able to start kicking close to vertical (something she was not able to do because of her medical condition and the resulting twisted pelvis) and gaining greater strength without the excruciating pains in her entire legs and hips. She actually made the National Team and will be representing the US. This would not have been possible without him! He has also helped me after a nasty fall from a bike at a high speed and my mother with her pains from her knee surgery as well as her long term bad back problems. I cannot recommend Dr Arbuckle enough for people who suffer from pains whatever problem they may have. Everyone who we've referred him have had great results with his therapies! My daughter would not have been able to achieve her goals without him. The other therapists in his office are also very good and know what they are doing as we've seen others in the office when Dr Arbuckle was not able to see her on rare occasions, because his schedule was completely full when she would suffer an injury for which she needed immediate attention. We have a lot of experience with many chiropractors and PT specialists over many years and Dr Arbuckle and his therapists are really the best we've ever experienced!!! read more

Chiropractic is looked down on by conventional medicine, but as they say, the proof is in the results. Medical doctors generally have exactly two tools in their toolbox, drugs and surgery, because that's usually all they're taught in med school. Chiropractic doctors go beyond that with various other tools, most notably direct physical manipulation. The experience of both my wife and I has been that chiropractic doctors are more knowledgeable, more concerned with our well-being, and more successful in treating orthopedic pain than medical doctors. That's certainly true in this clinic. In particular, Dr. Arbuckle has been exceptional in helping my wife with her pain. After a medical doctor didn't help her, I suggested Dr. Arbuckle whom I'd seen myself, on the basis of "it couldn't hurt to try". As someone who regularly gets injured and/or needs orthopedic surgeries for various conditions, I'm very particular about who I see for therapy. When I moved back to Austin I didn't have a great network of people to make referrals so went to Yelp to find a few options. Fortunately the reviews and expectations matched the treatment that I've been receiving from Dr. Tommer Arbuckle. Tommer goes above and beyond and has kept my body functioning, especially in advance of an orthopedic surgery that I need (extra bone on ball of hip, nothing that therapy can fix). Without his excellent care I wouldn't be nearly as active as I am now, and he always goes the extra mile to make sure that he's resolved my symptoms. Doc Collin is awesome. I came in with a lot of knee pain. Turned out my knees were good but my hip and ankle are messed up causing my knee to overcompensate. So glad I was referred to Dr. Jill Thomson. She has a great personality and is highly skilled. Don't worry if you're on the large side (like me) as she works with the UT football team, including 350lb lineman. Went to see her on the advice of a doc I saw about an Achilles tendon strain I sustained during a co-ed softball game. The PT at the doc's office couldn't see me for initial visit for almost 3 weeks! I laughed when the appointment person asked if i wanted to schedule the appt. I don't know many people who have a sports injury and are ok with waiting nearly 3 weeks to start physical therapy. Sheesh! Dr. Jill is different than other PTs who just ask you where it hurts, then give you some exercises and send you on your way. Dr. Jill uses hands-on techniques that have sped my healing process dramatically. I highly recommend her and plan to utilize her as my chiropractor once my Achilles injury heals. When you're in your 30s, are a wannabe athlete, and are prone to minor injuries, aches, and pains, it's always a good idea to have a good PT/Chiro on hand. My little black book of Dr.'s has been tossed thanks to Dr. Tommer and Dr. Michael. I manage to pick up little injuries from things not even related to power lifting, but it's those injuries that then affect my lifts. I started coming to Dr. Tommer because of the great reviews here on Yelp and am so glad I did. He really takes his time to listen to what's bothering me and then makes sure to focus on not only those areas, but other areas that could affect that main problem area. I've been to PT's/Chiro's before where they try to get you to come in every week for months on end which I just can't afford. Dr. Tommer had me come in every week for a few weeks, but his goal was to have me to the point where I was only coming in when needed which happened quickly. He not only takes care of my issues in the office, but provides me with stretches and exercises I can do at home to help. He's even taken the time to send me a couple emails with additional information. Although they don't take insurance, I feel that their fees are very fair when you think of the quality of care you're getting. I can also usually get in the same week if not the next day when I call the front desk which is a huge plus since I only call when I'm in pain. I've also seen Dr. Michael when Dr. Tommer wasn't available and he's just as great. Very knowledgeable and takes his time to focus on the issues. Dr. Tommer will even pop in real quick to say hi and check up on me which just shows the level of care and professionalism these guys have. I can't sing their praises enough! I will never go to another place so long as I live in Austin. These guys are very kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and never rushed. Highest recommendations. I see Dr. Jordan Pellien and I can't sing his praises enough. 1) The clinic is always on time. This is especially amazing because he never seems rushed in the slightest. He is very thorough and spends as much time as needed making me all better. 2) I have been to many OTHER chiropractors who want to do a bunch of X-rays and set me up with Bi-weekly appointments. Jordan is not about that at all. He is clearly there to help people and not squeeze every time out of them. He has never even recommended booking a follow up appointment unless I felt like I needed one. 3) He is so knowledgable and has excellent bedside manner. Austin Sports Therapy has been a god-send for me. I have always been very active and athletic, participating in dance, field hockey, track, and cross-country, and any other sports I could get my hands on. But all that changed when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after a car accident in 2004. I have been living with constant pain in my neck, back and shoulders for more than 6 years. After seeing over 30 doctors and medical professionals, healers, etc. I was at my wit's end. The pain was increasing year by year and I was unable to finish school or continue working, let alone participate in any sports or heavy exercise. I was referred to Dr. Arbuckle by a friend and spoke with him on the phone before my first appointment. I told him I was a difficult case, very mysterious and difficult and to only take me on if he thought he could help me. He was up to the challenge and we began treatments in June 2010. So far, I have made good progress in my neck and shoulders. The scar tissue, and fascia in my shoulders and back are softening and I am more pliable to adjustments. I am able to swim 3 times and week and sometimes go for light jogging. This was all impossible before. Also my pain has gone down a few points and I was able to go a month without painkillers. We still have a ways to go, but I am grateful beyond belief for Dr. Arbuckle's treatment. Not just the ART and adjustments, but his kind words and friendly demeanor. I am so used to seeing robotic doctors with little or no sense of humanity and that is not the case here. All of the chiropractors at Austin Sports Therapy are professional, friendly, hard-working. I signed up purely for experience of the body. Let's just say, he was a chiropractic professional with a good heart and great kinesiology language. Tommer Arbuckle is going to ALWAYS be my go to guy. I will definitely be keeping Austin Sports Therapy on speed dial. I had a bad crash just a couple weeks before a big competition (I had many painstaking months of training leading up to this). I landed on my hip in a bike race, and was barely mobile the following day. I felt pretty hopeless when I limped in. Dr. Tommer was able to see me 3 times within the week leading up to my race, and he used active release therapy to help treat my injury. I had back/neck problems for years. I had tried physical therapy, two different chiropractors, massage, an orthopedic doctor and pills and nothing had helped me. I had gotten used to living with constant pain. Finally I was referred to Dr. Arbuckle's office by a personal trainer. I'm SO glad I was given their name! Dr. Arbuckle has fixed problems I have had for years in less than 2 months. I credit him with finally being pain-free and regaining full range of motion. Dr Tommer Arbuckle has worked miracles on me through several sports injuries, including neck compression and post-op rotator cuff issues. I see him whenever I have even a minor issue because he has prevented many things from becoming really awful. He gives excellent advice and at-home exercises to prevent and lessen problems. I have been in Chronic Back Pain since an injury with Southwest Airines in 1983, in which I slipped 2 disc & Lumbar 5 was removed, L4 fused to L3....... I was carried in and I walked out. I scheduled an appointment for the morning after injuring my lower back. I was advised over the phone on what to do in the mean time. I arrived at her office and was carried up to her floor by two incredibly kind PTs. I couldn't even get out of the car without their help. After ART treatment and ice, I was able to walk out on my own power. My second visit has netted the same drastic jump in recovery. Dr. Kylar Brown did deep tissue work for three sessions. After the third session, he told me that he would email me some exercise instructions within 24 hours. If I did not receive them, then I was to call his assistant and remind her. I called three times and waited six days for the exercises, hence the low rating. I began the exercises, and my injury became worse. A second opinion yielded a different diagnosis and an effective treatment. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kyler Brown for about 3 years. I first started going for a torn meniscus on my right knee, which I ended up needing surgery for. With Kyler's help I was back to running in no time. He also was able to solve the mystery of my left foot going numb due to my sciatic nerve, he was able to get it to release and feeling came back to my foot. I Recently I had Hip Arthroscope on my left Hip due to a birth defect. Kyler prepped my Hip a month before and had me doing specific exercises before the surgery to help in the recovery. I was walking fine within 3 weeks which is amazing considering the extent of the surgery. My full recovery is now estimated to be 4 months instead of 6. I attribute this to Kyler's knowledge about my issue, taking the time to prep my hip properly for surgery and following up with me after surgery to ensure i was on the right path to a speedy recovery! I was having significant, recurring knee pain for several months before our cycling season began last year. I saw Dr. Tommer Arbuckle and in a few sessions he had completely eliminated the pain and had me racing just a few weeks later. Fast forward another year to a new problem: I woke up with pain in my neck that extended down my back and into my elbow. I have never had pain like that. It kept me up all night, I could barely get out of bed, much less be able to exercise like I'm used to. Again Dr. Arbuckle worked his magic and I left feeling 90% better.
