Just now getting around to writing this review, but I came here in 2018 after having pain 'under' the shoulder whenever I made a motion like getting a glass from a cabinet for nearly a year. This was actually the first time I've ever gone to a chiropractor in my life. Dr. Bomben took a lot of time to move it around, ask questions, and think and diagnose the issue. He pinched my subscapularis muscle while moving my arm back and forth 5 times and said I'm good to go. I walked out thinking there's no way that did anything, but lo and behold - no pain whatsoever the next day. It's now 2 years later and there's still no pain, all from that one 2 minute manipulation. I have been experiencing pain in my hamstrings and in the back of my knee for almost three years. Initially diagnosed as nothing more than tight hamstrings by an orthopedic physician I spent months in physical therapy to 'lengthen' my hamstrings. Here I was three years later and I still couldn't walk or run more than a mile without pain. Dr Bomben and his staff diagnosed me in the first visit not with tight hamstrings but rather nerve aggravation/irritation that simply presented in my hamstrings and knees. Within just a few visits I was exponentially better. Being correctly diagnosed and understanding that it was nerve related and not muscular was like finding the magic key. Long-term injuries finally resolved! More than a dozen years ago I suffered neck and upper-back injuries during extreme turbulence while flying through a storm. Had seen other chiropractors who provided moderate, temporary relief but neck and shoulder pain had become chronic and upper-back problems were recurrent. I had become resigned to and discouraged by the thought that this was permanent. I'm in my 60s and decided I was getting old and decrepit. Dr. Bomben changed all that! Dr. Ross Bomben is absolutely amazing and he saved my back. I've struggled with lower back pain on and off for several years. I cannot emphasize how effective Dr. Bomben's treatments have been to my family over the past several years. Dr. Bomben is amazing! I was referred to him through a yoga instructor, and I feel exceptionally fortunate to have found him. I've seen chiropractors in the past, but most of them only provide temporary relief from back or neck pains. I initially went to Dr. Bomben to address a hip/back situation that had spontaneously begun aching with so much pain I could barely get dressed in the morning. He spent the better part of an hour diagnosing the problem. He had me bend in all directions and went through several series of exercises that would either make the pain better or worse. He used active-release therapy and deep-tissue massage. He took a lot of time making sure he knew what the problem really was. And after having a second and third opinion from other doctors, Ross Bomben was the only one who not only spent the time to address my problem, he was the only one who was actually able to tell me what the problem was. I visit on a regular basis due to my hip/back issue, and had an appointment scheduled this morning. Strangely enough, I woke up with serious pain in my upper back which prevented me from moving my head in any direction. It hurt so much I had trouble driving to my appointment. I was scheduled to see the massage therapist first, who used deep-tissue massage to help loosen the muscles. He also kept me laughing while he was working on my pain :) Then Dr. Bomben used active-release pressure therapy on the problem area before he adjusted me. Yes, he almost made me cry, but I can move my head now! It may have taken weeks and a whole bunch of ibuprofen to make that pain go away, but he fixed it in one session. I could not put any weight on my foot without serious pain, so my friend literally carried me up and down the stairs of my apartment complex the next 3 days (no crutches available). While doing a jump-twist kick in martial arts, I'd slipped and smacked my foot into the ground before landing on my butt. The day after, I saw Dr. Bomben, who had eliminated my 8-month knee and hip pain (also from sport injury) using active release therapy 2 years prior. He performed tests, deduced the severity and exact bones/ligaments that may have been affected, did some adjustments, and had his skilled and kind therapists perform active release therapy on my ankle. After 6 sessions in 3 weeks and a day, I was running and jumping without pain. I have been helped by Dr Bomben and his team at Performance Therapy Group for a number of years for three different problems that have arisen from playing racquetball. I have been going to chiropractors for more than forty years; no doubt about, it he is the best! The combination of expert diagnosis, chiropractic treatments, deep tissue massage and exercises is unbeatable. I first went for help with a rotator cuff problem. The treatment was very effective, maybe five visits, and because of the exercises, which I still do, I haven't required more treatments. The next challenge was to "keep me playing racquet ball into my seventies" as my knees were signalling that time was up. However, the combination of extensive diagnosis, with excellent follow up treatments, deep tissue massage and exercises means that the objective is not only being met, but my game has improved. Dr Bomben is a chiropractor who specializes in active release. He works with athletes who need rapid recovery. There is no going back repeatedly with him. He can handle your problem in less than 3 visits. I went to him first with a pulled rhomboid and that took two massage and deep release sessions. THEN I had an excrutiating pain that woke me from a sound sleep. All my drs thought it was a kidney stone or something worse since the pain was so bad and didn't respond to pain meds. After CT scans and xrays and several visits, my cardiologist of all people thought to do a complete exam and when I raised my left leg off the table I almost went thru the roof. He said I had pulled a muscle. So off I went to Dr Bomben. His therapist did 30 minute massage, Dr Bomben did deep tissue massage with release. I was sore the next two days but since then, I feel wonderful. It has been over a month and with the stretching techniques and the tools he gave me, I have not needed to return. I have been in consistently to see Dr. Bomben for numerous aches, pains and tears in my body over the past four years. As a professional tennis player something is almost always hurting and coming in to see Ross before injuries escalate has kept me very healthy and in competition. Over the course of my career my back has been the main source of pain and has kept me out of competition from just a few days to a several months at each sitting. I came into see Dr. Bomben in severe back pain and on a walker after 5 days of constant muscle spasms and immobility after a work related re injury. From the moment I met Dr. Bomben and his staff I could really feel that they cared about helping me to get out of pain and to heal. Dr. Bomben was kind, compassionate, empathetic, knowledgeable, a great listener, and very responsive to any questions or concerns that I had. Dr. Bomben explained things to me in a way that I could understand and spent rehab time answering my questions and brainstorming ways that I could alter my positioning throughout the day to decrease pain and increase proper alignment. He allowed me to take videos and allowed time for me to show how I was bending, lifting, sitting, standing so that I could ensure that I was engaging in the best movement patterns possible. As I progressed in my treatment he and his staff explained the injury and home exercises so that when I left the office I knew more about how to stay out of pain. I am more aware of my movement patterns than I ever have been before. I am three months post injury and it is a slow and steady process but I am convinced that I would not be where I am today without this amazing team of people including Debbie at the front desk, Sage in massage, and Roxanne in rehab.
