From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. They place a heating pad with gentle light vibrations on you, which helps your body unwind before the adjustment. Dr. Shrogin truly takes the time to understand your specific pain points and never rushes the process. After each adjustment, he explains everything clearly and gives helpful stretches to support healing and prevent future issues. I recommend him to everyone I know. I also love that he sends Christmas cards to all his patients -- it really shows how much he cares. Super nice, kind, knowledgeable, and someone who truly values his patients' well-being. read more

Dr. Shrogin is incredibly attentive in listening to my back concerns. I appreciate his expertise and always feel physically and mentally better when I walk out the door. I texted his office on a Saturday after a trip to the ER for back pain. I wasn't expecting a reply until Monday and was shocked that he took the time to respond promptly to let me know what our next steps would be. It was really difficult for me to find a great Chiropractor when I moved to Austin 2 years ago. I stumbled on this practice on Google maps and haven't looked back since. I suffered from severe plantar fasciitis for over a year. My podiatrist had no idea how to fix this except for some exercises. Years ago, I had a chiropractor who, to me, was magical. Then, one day, he retired. I've had some good chiropractic adjustments along the way, but I had not found a chiropractor that was quite like Dr. Martin, until I went to see Dr. Shrogin. This was just my first visit, but first impressions can say a lot. From the moment I made my appointment, I have felt so welcome. The front staff were super friendly and patient. His assistants in the back were so kind and thorough. And Dr. Shrogin was amazing. He was personable, down-to-earth, kind, thoughtful, an excellent communicator and truly knows what he's doing. I came to this office due to a crick in my neck that I had for over a month. I was getting really bad headaches as well. I met with Dr. Paul and after he snap, crackle and popped me, initially I felt some relief but as the days went on I felt much better. Whatever they did definitely did the trick. They even helped me be aware of my posture, which was likely creating problems for my neck and I've been a lot more mindful about how I sit, stand and sleep. Feeling great! I have seen him for anything from throwing my neck out to prenatal care, and now maintenance care. I visited Lawson Chiropractic on 4/18/23 and saw Dr. Paul Shrogin for adjustments following a recent car accident I was in. During my appointment he did several things that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He was complimenting my clothing, looking me up and down, and I felt his private part touch and rest on me through my appointment. At one point when it was happening I was mid-stretch and I could not break away from him to stop it. He at no point performed any actual adjustments on me during my appointment. I have seen other chiropractors in the past and have never had an experience like this. I feel completely violated by someone I entrusted to help me. When I called to inform them that I would not be returning for my follow up appointment because of Dr. Shrogin's inappropriate behavior they were not apologetic at all, and even asked me to let them know if I wanted to reschedule. I don't know what woman would want to go back to a place that made her feel violated the way that I feel violated. The lack of concern from the staff when informed of this incident is incredibly alarming, and I am extremely disappointed with the staff and Dr. Shrogin. I truly hope they decide to take this matter seriously and ensure that no other patients have to experience what I did in the future. read more

As good as it gets! I have been living with a bulged disc for 17 years now and for anyone that knows what that is it can be a living hell. I've tried injections and other forms of treatments to no avail. As soon as the drugs wore off I was back to being my old miserable self. I have even been recommended for surgery as a last resort, which I have flatly refused. About 4 years ago my mom's neighbor watched as I gingerly tried getting out of my pick-up one day while visiting. Long story short, after learning from my mom what was ailing me on that day (flare up) she suggested for me to visit Dr. Lawson. She's been a patient of Dr. Lawson for 12 years (same condition). I set up my first appointment with Dr. Lawson's professional staff soon thereafter. I have to admit that though I was a bit leery of what I considered "alternative" medicine I had nothing to lose since I was tired of using tons of injections and medication to mask my pain. After a very thorough evaluation consisting of question and answer paperwork as well as a one on one personal interview by Dr. Lawson himself I received my first treatment. I can honestly say that I no longer receive injections or take expensive prescription "knock me on my butt" medication for my condition. I visit Dr. Lawson about about once a month for preventive treatment or what he calls pain management and occasionally in between after an especially strenuous workout. I manage to keep most of my occasional pain under control with over the counter meds. I plan on continuing visiting Dr. Lawson as long as I need to. He has honestly been the reason why I will rule out surgery. As for the negative review, what can I say? 1 or 2 out of thousands of patients is not a bad ratio. I would recommend Dr. Lawson at Lawson Chiropractic to anyone that is tired of suffering from this or other similar conditions. Thank you Dr. Lawson! read more

Best damn chiropractic office in Texas! Dr. Lawson is one of the most approachable, honest, insightful and level headed practitioners - of any metrical field - I've ever delt with! Pretty outstanding fellow. He'll give you the treatment you need with defined goals and measurable improvements. None of this perpetual life long care mumbo jumbo! The whole team there is super friendly, and both therapists well trained and experienced! Don't waste your time anywhere else! FYI: regarding that paperwork comment - that's common in every professional chiropractic office, and I'm sure it was to prevent a lawsuit/malpractice matter not because he already had one. I was referred to Dr Lawson for treatment of lower back pain resulting from curvature of my spine. I was in agony every time I stood up. Having never been to a chiropractor, I was a bit nervous. Everyone I dealt with at Dr Lawson's practice was amazing- kind, professional and competent. Environment was clean and attractive with up to date equipment. After several weeks of treatment, I am a "new woman". I cannot say enough good things about my treatments. Giving two stars because even though Dr. Lawson was amazing and very informative with his work, the receptionist ladies at the front are just absolutely horrible. They are rude, sarcastic and very unwelcoming at the least. When you're already uncomfortable due to pain, the last thing you want to deal with are more than unfriendly attitudes upon arrival. I am hopeful to be able to return to Dr. Lawson once these ladies are replaced. Even though I was a little sore after treatment, I left in a far better mindset than when I initially got there. Dr. Lawson educated me on the nature of my issue, and offered extremely helpful advice. Tip: the ladies at the front are losing you business! I experienced it for myself when I was there. In December, I had the pleasure of a session with Dr. Lawson while staying in Marfa, Texas, where he is trying to develop a side practice to his main one in Austin. My upper left rhomboid was bothering me (desk posture, probably), as well as my IT band. I have rarely met so patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and concerned a human being. If I lived in Marfa or Austin, I would instantly become a regular client. A pity I don't. Despite this, he instructed me on stretches to perform at home, and offered continuing care; I could email him with any questions I had. He really went above and beyond. Dr. Lawson is a rare find! I've had a couple major spinal surgeries so I've been through injections and all those other things we do in an attempt to gain relief. I've also seen other chiropractors over the years. With others, I've always been turned off by them pushing supplements, doing X-rays at each visit, or telling me I needed to come 3 times a week for 2 months, etc. Dr. Lawson knows what he's doing and doesn't push an agenda. He addresses your pain and usually says "come back when you feel it's time". I trust my broken down, surgically altered body to him completely, and that can be hard to do after bad past experiences. read more

I received a gift certificate from a dear friend for a massage at Lawson Chiropractic on Brodie in S. Austin. The office was nice but they did require that I fill out all the forms to become a patient before I could get my massage. When I inquired as to why, Dr. Lawson came to the desk and told me I could leave if I didn't want to have the massage. A little over the top for a simple question. He indicated that he may have some malpractice / legal problems. I went ahead with the massage as they were not going to refund my friends money for the certificate. The massage was good and the massage therapist was nice and not to chatty, which I like. read more
