I'm so glad that Dr. Forrest is my chiropractor. He saw me through some physical therapy and gave car accident support. That was such a blessing. Now I see him for my "tune ups." I seem to always do something stupid: sleep funny, tweak my back, or something else idiotic. A tune up is just what I need to help me out. Plus, it's never a quick in-and-out (crack-go home!). Also, it's not always an adjustment. Sometimes what my body can handle is some Graston and soft tissue work. This is the first chiropractor I've encountered who is willing to move away from adjustments to help with patient healing. I always leave feeling better. Finally, Dr. Forrest provides information to explain what he sees going on with my body and what he is doing. I am educated about things. Every time I leave, my body feels better, I understand how the treatment focused on my issue/s, and follow up advice of exercises or stretching to do on my own at home is clear. After carefully reading through the reviews, I decided to give Dr. Forrest a try. Located conveniently off of Hwy 183, the office is in a quiet building but easy to find and with plenty of room for parking. Dr. Forrest is very friendly and easy going and does a great job of explaining his modalities and takes time to get to know your body status and what kinds of aches and pains you've had and are currently having. His treatment philosophy is very straightforward and focused on making progress. I appreciate his approach to spend less time on taking X-rays (we didn't do any) and actually digging in to figure out what's going on with your body. I am so pleased to have found Dr. Forrest! I have had a lot of experience with quite a few chiropractors over the years, and he is among the best! I have been a patient of Dr Forrest for many years. In fact, I followed him to his own practice from another practice. I would recommend him, and I do often, for anyone having pain in their body. I started going to Dr. Forrest in April of this year after being laid up from a surgery. I had developed some back issues from being sedentary for so long. Upon my first visit I was excited to see that he had a different approach to the chiropractic business that included some PT. He takes the time to get to know you, and addresses any concerns or issues you may have as an ongoing part of his care. He constantly screens for problems and modifies as needed. He is kind, compassionate and personable. My story is I have fibromyalgia, which is a chronic pain condition. I am fiercely protective and respectful of my body. I listen to it and work with my caregivers. Dr. Forrest is a pleasure to work with... critical for any type of care, and a requirement for chronic issues. He is a godsend for keeping keep me mobile and living a good life. I love Dr. Forrest... and really the entire practice. My husband and I are still mourning the fact that we moved back to California and now need to find a new chiropractor. We should have stayed in Austin just for Brian and Simon (and the whole fantastic staff!) They have a holistic way of looking at your issues and helping you. Not only adjustments, but massage and physical therapy. They show you techniques you can do at home to really help you. They really care and are not after your money like most places. I have been seeing Dr. Forrest since early this year. I was having really bad shoulder pain. Pain when I lifted things at home, pain when I walked my dogs, pain when I slept, pain when I worked out, etc. I shopped around for chiropractic therapy up north for a while and was really unhappy with the doctors I ran into. I felt like I was spending lots of money and not feeling any better. Dr. Forrest was genuinely like a breath of fresh air. His approach is very scientific, but also incredibly nurturing. I first came to Forrest Chiropractic on the recommendation of a friend for my lower back pain. Having a job where I sat and hardly moved all day really caused me a lot of pain. Through adjustments, functional movements, and stretches, I was able to work through the causes of the pain and make little changes to my daily routine to help keep the pain from coming back. I found Dr. Forrest after moving to Austin recently. I called to check to see if they accepted my insurance because it was hard to use my insurance provider locator to find them - you know how those searches can be. When I called, the front office staff was super friendly, checked my insurance for me, and scheduled an appointment within the week. At my appointment, Dr. Forrest took his time listening to what brought me in, completed a thorough evaluation, and explained everything he found during the evaluation. He gave me a step by step understanding of what he thought would be a good treatment plan. Upon agreement of a treatment plan, Dr. Forrest adjusted my neck and back. He explained what he was doing throughout the adjustment, making sure I breathed properly, and let me know what I could expect after the adjustment, like soreness. The wait for appointment times isn't long at all, the staff is always friendly and properly prepared to help me get my account taken care of right away. My appointments usually consist of seeing a massage therapist for a deep tissue massage to loosen up my neck (heavenly!), the adjustment with Dr. Forrest, and then he sends me home with great exercises to focus on that I can do without aggravating my back and modifications to adjust depending on my skill level. He's given me fantastic core strengthening exercises as well as a variety of neck and shoulder stretches. I came in because I had thrown my back out AGAIN and he helped me not only relieve the pain I was constantly having but also build up strength so I don't have pain anymore! Brian Forrest fixed my herniating disk problem in the span of one month. It was the first in my life, and I came to him in terrible condition - walking, sitting and functioning with great difficulty. He used specialized mechanical equipment to begin to turn my situation around, and gave me salutary chiropractic exercises to perform at home and office. As I began to get better he added massages (by professionals, at his office), chiropractic manipulations and further exercises targeting my disk issue and its surrounding muscles. I improved quickly under his care and tutorship, and now am completely healed - note that I do need to continue using the exercises he gave me, in order to not relapse, but otherwise I am completely back to normal. Brian was not stingy with his time: each consultation with him exceeded 30 minutes, easily. And the charges were reasonable - indeed I worried they were too low, with all the overhead a medical office entails (front desk, billing, facility, medical/therapy machines, etc.). And while it cost me a pretty penny to get treated for this ailment, treatment by a MD would have cost considerably more and/or would have accomplished considerably less. Nevertheless, Brian explained that if the back issue turned out to be a grave injury requiring medical intervention, he would promptly connect me with doctors who could provide the intervention - which as it turned out, never became necessary. Brian explained matters in great detail. He wanted to make sure I, the patient, were as informed as possible about everything: the condition, the remedy, the exercises, the reactions of the body to all these, etc. I paid close attention as he explained things or answered my questions, as this was all very useful and helpful information that I needed to hear and understand, for my own benefit.
