At age 46, I had lived with lower back pain and intermittent sciatica for nearly half my life. The traditional medical people in my family had taught me to believe that chiropractic care was akin to snake oil, so I just went about my life learning to block the pain. Besides, when your lower back hurts that much the thought of having someone press and crack on your bones does not sound appealing at all. I never let the pain stand in my way. As I worked with a personal trainer to achieve fitness goals, I found that I had gone as far as I could without addressing the issues with my lower back. As good fortune would have it, some friends twisted my arm to try chiropractic care and, through a series of health insurance obstacles, I was directed to Dr. Glenn (thank you, Heidi!). Before I continue, I must note that Heidi, Dr. Glenn's assistant, is friendly, caring, and highly competent. She makes things happen. I've never seen anyone navigate the crazy health plan maze like she does. She will find a way to work with your insurance provider and get you the care you need. Thanks a million, Heidi. I might not have had this amazing experience if it hadn't been for you! I've been with Dr. Glenn for over a year now and after 23 years I am pain free. Why in the world did I wait for this? It took a few months for Dr. Glenn to train my body into alignment, but now that he has I am such a baby about the slightest pain. I see Dr. Glenn weekly for maintenance so that I do not slip back into the pain and stiffness I had before. Being able to exercise and live my life pain free is such a gift. Dr. Hawthorne truly cares about his patients and wants everyone to be healthy and happy. He's wonderful! I've been a patient of Dr. Hawthorne's for almost 3 years. I know that sounds like a long time to be seeing a chiropractor, but I have chronic issues. In those 3 years, I have progressed from weekly migraines to 1 or 2 a year. Additionally, he has adjusted my spine so that I can now exercise regularly without intense pain. It is absolutely wonderful to talk my dogs for a walk without being in pain afterward. His methods appeared casual and minimal at first, especially compared to the intense 1 hour appointments of my previous chiropractors. However, Dr. Hawthorne's methods are effective. The sessions are short, about 15 minutes, and include time on a message bed and acupressure afterward. It is possible to see him twice a day and multiple times a week depending on your treatment. His office does X-rays on-site and the results are immediately sent to his computer for consultation. I appreciate not having to wait weeks for results. Dr. Hawthorne is very approachable and willing to discuss any issues I have at any time. I have seen numerous patients of all ages (toddlers on up) and from many different backgrounds. One minor drawback is that the office is closed on Fridays, but it is only a minor inconvenience given the appointment is quick and run smoothly. read more

I am a massage therapists and understand the body and the need to have your foundation be strong and in correct alignment. Today Dr. H came in on his day off and put me back together and this evening I feel so great and can return to work pain free and moving easy. I can't recommend Dr. Glenn Hawthorne enough; he is a healer in the truest sense by treating not only the symptoms, but the root cause of your trouble as well. He's kind, honest, insightful, skilled and very knowledgeable about the human form and what it takes to be healthy from the inside out. There is magic in those hands as he gently, yet thoroughly works to fix what ails you. He has an X-ray in the office which is not only convenient, but practical and smart for analysis and to track progress. His administrator, Heidi, is a wonderfully pleasant and skilled staff to assist you. Being a Chiropractor myself, I truly have the opportunity to be adjusted by anyone and everyone. Dr Glenn Hawthorne is my Chiropractor and I am honored to call him that. He is one of the most caring and giving Doctors that I know, and I know alot! His touch and demeanor are both very gentle. I especially like how easy it is to get in and out of his office. Dr. Hawthorne is the most awesome chiropractor I have ever had! I have been to many chiropractors due to back and neck issues, and I feel totally comfortable letting him adjust me. He is very kind and open to my questions and concerns. He has met me at the office on some occasions when he was not open as he knew I would not call him unless I was really hurting. I, myself, am a chiropractor and I am VERY picky about who touches my spine. I trust Dr. Hawthorne. I have 2 other chiropractors on my block and I could go to anyone in town, yet I drive half way across town to see Glenn because I like the way he adjusts me. He is one of the most gentle chiropractors I have ever been adjusted by (and as a member of the profession, I have been adjusted by many) and he is also one of the most effective.
