I think this omakase experience is very intimate and the food was so good! We did the 17 course omakase and I think it was $100. It also came with sake. I had a matcha cocktail that I still think about. It was so refreshing. Every single bite was perfect and made fresh in front of you. Our sushi artist was Alex (I think) and he was lovely! I also love the speakeasy vibes here. Super cute for a date night! I will definitely try to go to other Sushi by Bou locations in the future.

Amazing food, but felt scammed on the bill…read more I visited Sushi by Bou in Jersey city last Saturday night for their 17‑course omakase, which is advertised at 150 dollars per person. My cousin and I were genuinely impressed at first - every piece of sushi was delicious, the fish tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. For most of the meal, it felt like a great high‑end dining experience. The problem came at the very end. The host asked if we wanted anything else, and I specifically asked what our options were and how much they would cost. I was told we could order any of the original 12 pieces à la carte, but when I asked the price per piece, the host hesitated and never actually answered the question. Then the bartender and sushi chef said, "Give them all 12 pieces. Run it back," in a way that made it sound like it was part of the experience, not an extra charge. At no point did anyone clearly state the price of these additional pieces or indicate that this would significantly increase our bill. When the check came, it was close to 700 dollars for two people who started with a 150‑dollar‑per‑person omakase and only had about a drink each. Every extra piece had been charged individually at full price, even though I had directly asked how much it would be. Instead of feeling taken care of, we left feeling misled and scammed. A wonderful meal was completely overshadowed by the lack of transparency at the end. All it would have taken was a simple explanation like, "Additional pieces are X dollars each," so we could make an informed decision. Because that did not happen, it feels like the upsell was intentional and deceptive. The sushi itself was excellent, but I cannot recommend this place until they are honest and upfront about pricing for add‑ons and do a better job of respecting their customers. Transparency matters just as much as good food.

Just returned to Denmark from a nice Eastern holiday in Hoboken NJ…read more We found Saka by coincidence. Ordered Red Dragon and Saka rolls, salmon nigri and Edamame with seasalt, and we did that again 2 times more during our holiday. The Red Dragon rolls tasted good and crispy, the Saka rolls with Mango was sweet and exiting, we had'nt tasted that kind of roll before. Can just say, great service, delicious food and prices that reflex the quality. Thanks and please open in Denmark

Saka has a solid offer of Any 3 Rolls for ~$20. Their selection of rolls is more limiting than other places; would love if they had yellowtail or scallop as options at lunch. Nonetheless, the rolls I got were solid! The fish was fresh and the portion was great, the rice layer wasn't thick at all which is a big factor for me, and to my surprise, it came with both a miso soup & salad. The miso soup was pretty flavorful compared to others I've had and the salad came with a sesame dressing that was so refreshing with the crisp salad. I should've kept my order at that as the Crispy Spicy Salmon wasn't worth it. The crispy rice was slightly too hard/over-fried and the portion of spicy salmon was so tiny. The rice layer should be fully topped with salmon, unlike what they gave. It didn't taste half bad but I'd probably skip it next time. If you order for delivery, their insulated packaging is great for transport and temperature control. Solid try!

I got the Sushi & Handroll Course and it was incredible and worth it. I will be returning to have this again. The first course: Hamachi Ceviche. Delicious and light. The second course: 9 piece assorted sushi. This came with 3 seared pieces which melted in my mouth. The 6 other pieces each had the right seasoning or added compliment to make it a delicious bite. The third course: 2 hand rolls of your choice. I liked this because you can eat 2 hand rolls fast enough that the seaweed doesn't get too soggy. Since I had so much raw fish in the first 2 courses, I decided to get the coconut shrimp tempura and miso blacked cod. Highly recommend both. Everyone else at my table got the 4 handroll set. I wouldn't recommend this, because by the time you get to handroll #3-4, the seaweed is completely soggy and makes the experience end on a bad note. I wish they would consider separating the seaweed and rice with plastic like they do at other handroll spots or Hmart lol. Regardless, a great dining experience and I will definitely return to DomoDomo for the sushi and handroll course!

Overall: 4 stars…read more Dined in at the Jersey City location for the first time and I was quite thrilled by the comforting seating and attentive service. The food is pricey but also higher quality than most of what you can find in Jersey City so its competitive in that sense. (Hamachi Appetizer: A) - I love the bold flavors across many dimensions that encapsulate the yellowtail with flavor. Its a colorful and bright way to start a meal. (Nigiri Course: D) - Nine pieces of sushi, most of them uniquely flavored with fun. I think at this price point, I wished that the color of the fish looked more bright and glistening -- the salmon and tuna are a bit washed in color, although some of their white fish is glistening. The flavor combinations are theoretically interesting but a lot of them are a bit too subtle to taste well. (Wagyu Handroll: F) - The wagyu is nice quality with a delicious richness that melts into that soothing rice. It theoretically pairs well with the truffle pate and the high quality uni, but unfortunately the proportions were quite off so they were hard to taste in harmony. (Black Cod Handroll: A) - I love this concept of taking miso black cod and making it into a petite handroll size. Its warm and comforting and oozing with that saline forward flavor that I was looking forward to. Amazing quality Omakase!…read more Nigiri is located inside Honshu in Jersey City. Think of Nigiri the Omakase part of Honshu. Honshu's menu on it's own is really good so I wanted to try their Omakase and boy they did not disappoint. This was the most Uni I've had in an Omakase. The quality of the sushi was so good. It competes and if not beats some of the Omakase found in NYC. The only downside was I was not able to join the tabletop for the Omakase service but sat on a table nearby. This was a last minute decision and the Omakase table was fully booked. This falls on me. However, this Omakase was the longest I have experienced. It was nearly 2 hours. I found myself just sitting there waiting for the next course. I don't know if this was due to me sitting at regular table vs the Omakase tabletop, but I wish there was more flow. Although it was a long dinner, the food outweighed it all.

I ordered the izanagi donburi (bluefin tuna), and you could tell the fish was incredibly fresh and the sushi rice was well seasoned. My friend really enjoyed her hand rolls as well. One thing to note for those curious: even though it's right next door, it didn't seem like you could order off the Honshu menu here. However, the food was so good on its own that we didn't mind! We'll definitely be coming back to try the Omakase next time.
