Such a solid spot for sushi - both take out and dining in. I like the new outdoor seating that they have, makes for a nice dinner spot with the pup. The fish is always fresh and the food is great, quality ingredients and feels less oily / greasy than other spots
I've been coming here since it opened and there's one thing I look for in sushi . Is freshness, quality and consistency. Sushi has to be made and prepared a certain way. I don't go for the specials or boxes as they tend to not have same consistency as the individual rolls. Today I tried philly roll, shrimp tempura and the tuna roll. Fairly standard in any sushi spot so not hard to mess up. it was fresh delicious, portioned well and the price was reasonable . pretty much the same price for these rolls anywhere you go anywhere from $7-9. The service is always fast and friendly and the spot is self has plenty of seating, cozy and nice ambiance with a modern feel. Lots of street parking . I would def recommend this sushi spot for the downtown area . It fits the vibe.
Good neighborhood sushi spot. Byob and the food is solid/reasonably priced. No frills but a great place to have a low key dinner
When you compare this this the amazing sushi I had just days earlier, two stars is being generous. I got the green bee and burning down house roll. Neither had much flavor. Neither had any spice. The rolls were cut too large. The yellowtail tasted off. The GF soy sauce tasted so off I ate my roll dry. Honestly there was nothing good to be had about the meal I ate here sadly.
(Overall: C) - Overall, Itto Sushi offers competitive pricing for sushi and good packaging with very strong command of sauce making. Unfortunately, from the proteins I sampled, they all tasted unfresh or poorly cooked. (Bulgogi Bento: C) - Their bulgogi combo comes with a fair share of food including a california roll, tempura, salad, and soup. I was impressed by their addicting salad dressing and tempura sauce. Unfortunately, their beef tasted boiled and dry likely due to not cooking on sufficiently high heat. (3 Roll Combo: C) - I found their roll combo to be value at $17 for 3 rolls with a soup and salad. Hidden gem on a corner in Jersey city. We came for dinner on a Thursday evening so it wasn't too crowded there were still tables available. We were instantly greeted and sat down. Shrimp tempura is a must but I expected more of the pan fried shrimp dumplings, maybe lacking a bit of flavor? Everyone has their preference. I ordered the spicy seafood ramen which was a 10/10! The dragon roll was pretty good as well and we had the house salad. I must come back because there were sooo many more items that I want to try, thank again!
I had a great experience at Itto. The restaurant is so cute. Very attentive service. And the food was delicious. Started with the shrimp and vegetable tempura, dynamite. Then I had the Hudson roll, so good! I'll definitely be back for more.
Staffs were friendly. Food was delicious, portion size is big. The ambience is nice. We ordered the food to go. We ordered Bulgogi Bento box and beef bibimbap lunch special which comes with miso soup & house salad. Everything was labeled. Would recommend if you're in the area! Nice place for lunch with indoor and outdoor seating! We got maki lunch combos which either let you choose your own rolls from a list or came with 2 specific ones. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon were a bit mushy texture wise but the spider roll was good. Soup and salad came with the combo and were both a classic. It was a quiet day when we went so service was attentive.
My partner and I decided to try this place with a Yelp/Google search since we were craving sushi. Before arriving, I studied the menu a bit and it seems like this place may be Korean-owned, considering they serve bibimbap, bulgolgi, and hwebap. In total, my partner and I ordered 2 salmon mania special rolls, 1 Philadelphia roll, and 1 Alaskan roll for takeout at ~7:15PM on Sunday. The order took ~20 min to fulfill. The classic rolls were around $6-7.50 each and have 6 pieces. The special roll had 8 PC each, and was $15-16. The fish was very tasty and fresh -- avocado was ripe and soft as well. My partner and I favored the salmon mania roll, as it had a pretty good serving of salmon on top which was the right amount of fatty and savoriness. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the sushi rice. Not sure it was made with actual sushi rice, it tasted like mushy softer white rice that could've been cooked with a tad bit too much water. Not sure if maybe they ran out of rice and had to make another batch last minute, or we just happened to get that batch of rice. The rice seemed soft, mushy and stickier than usual sushi rice. I took off a star for that. Another thing that would benefit this place would be to offer free house salad and/or miso soup upon ordering of enough rolls. For example, Kim's Sushi in West Orange does a free salad or miso upon every $10 ordered. I believe this would attract more people to return and order! Currently, the menu only allows for free miso soup and house salad if you order their bigger platters and meal sets. Overall, this place looks like a cute small sushi shop in the neighborhood -- seems like it'd be a nice place for a date or casual hang out. I'd probably stop in again some time to give this place another try, along with other things on the menu. Hopefully the sushi rice will be better!
Honestly for the price, it was not worth it. We got the sushi deluxe where the 9 assorted sushi were the basic salmon, tuna, and shrimp. For the roll, we picked the crazy lady which had shrimp tempura and tempura flakes. Service was regular, not amazing. The place was clean and modern. Parking may be tough, but hopefully you find street parking!
Solid spot! They have an extensive menu and the prices are very reasonable. I really enjoyed the miso soup, tuna tartar and Spicy girl roll. Good service, and I liked that it's a casual atmosphere. Plus that it is BYO!
This has got to be one of the best sushi places in the area! The place is small but very cutely decorated inside- perfect for a date or girls get together. For a starter, I got the korean fried chicken. To my surprise, this dish had topokki, which was the star of the appetizer. The chicken was well made as a stand alone, but not exactly your typical korean fried chicken. Regardless, it was a table favorite. For the main, I got the Tuna Mania. This was loaded with tuna and the fish quality was superb. I could tell that it was very fresh. The servers were kind, got us seated immediately, and got our food to us in a timely manner. I appreciated my experience here and will most likely become a regular here!
Itto really deserves their flowers - a great sushi spot in downtown JC with good quality fish and reasonable prices. I've dined in, ordered for pick up, and gotten deliveries from them countless of times and they're always consistent. Favorite items from them are the sashimi regular (comes with miso soup and salad) and the spicy girl roll (a must)! Their service here is great as well - super nice and friendly over the phone and in person. read more
Itto is incredible. It's BYOB and they have amazing lunch specials that come with soup and salad. My favorite things to order are the fried shumai and the spicy girl roll with a side of eel sauce. I've also tried the bento box lunch deal, it comes with so much food that I had leftovers. The food comes out so quick too. read more

Solid local sushi spot. Very reasonably priced and the seating area is clean. The servers were very courteous - the food came on time and I never felt rushed. I ordered the kitchen lunch special with the Beef Dolsot Bibimbap for $15. One thing to note about the Dolsot Bibimbap here - there is NO crispy rice on the bottom. It is just a regular bibimbap warmed up which was super disappointing since the menu says "hot stone bowl". Nevertheless, it was super filling and I like that the set came with soup and salad. I would come here again for a casual meal. read more

Sushi was sooo good! Everything was so fresh and delicious tasting! I'm a big salmon girlie so o got the salmon lover lunch special. It's a bit expensive but whose for really say? Sushi itself is always expensive 16$ for these 4 sushi pieces, the one roll and it's come with a soup and salad ! I did take out so I can't speak much to the service but the woman's ho rang me up seemed nice and the restaurant is nice and big with lots of beautiful tables! 10/10 will be going here again read more
This is a new place in Jersey City and it's a very cute, chill sushi spot. The sushi is all fresh and tastes great. The spicy calamari was sooooo good. And the bulgogi was also great for non sushi eaters. Definitely a good place for a random date night or a catch up with a friend! read more

My friend Sheila put me onto this place awhile ago and I can't stop coming back! Best sushi I've ever had and also super affordable which is a plus! The service is amazing with consistent check-ups to see how we're doing and very friendly (: I love how cozy and spacious this place is for the size it is ... This place is amazing for ANYTHING - a date, takeout, birthdays, etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! read more

First time, not disappointed! Itto is a really nice casual sushi restaurant, that's not over priced. Their miso soup is really good, and I enjoyed their salmon teriyaki dinner. The plate was sizzling, a great presentation and nice serving amount. I look forward to coming back here, service was also great. read more
Jersey City doesn't have a shortage of quality sushi spots, and Itto is a welcome addition. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening during their soft launch, somehow lucking into a table without a reservation after just a few minute wait. We split an order of pan fried veggie gyoza and each ordered a couple of rolls: a Banzai roll (spicy tuna + cucumber + tuna + salmon) and a Sunshine roll (tuna + salmon + white tuna + avocado) for me; a Pink Lady roll (spicy tuna + spicy salmon + spicy yellowtail) and Sunshine roll for her. The fish was quality and prices were in line with other places downtown. Worth a repeat visit read more

One of my favorite sushi spots in Jersey City Itto is relatively new. I stumbled upon this restaurant first towards the end of summer. It's a little tucked away by Van Vorst park, bordering a beautiful part of downtown Jersey City, but not near the hustle of an area like Newark Ave I've been here multiple times since that first dinner and each time I've loved everything I've tried. All the sushi is fresh, the staff is extremely nice, and I've never had to wait too long for a seat Itto also does amazing take out. Every time I've been here, there's been a nonstop flow of people coming to pick up their takeout orders One thing to note is that the restaurant is byob, so come prepared And try whatever catches your eye! read more

A new Asian fusion restaurant in town that's a hands down must try!! Tucked away in downtown Jersey City, this restaurant offers a variety of Japanese and Korean dishes. They're known for their sushi menu but their other dishes are just as good. This restaurant is owned by a local family so I had to come support small business. (*MASSIVE BONUS: you can get a discount on your total bill if you post an Instagram story of their restaurant and tag them!) I ordered lunch specials of bulgogi bento box and 3 sushi roll combos (spicy tuna, salmon, and eel). These came with free (hot from the kitchen) miso soup and salad starters! I also got the edamame which was lightly seasoned with salt, which had a nice touch. The food came out very quickly and provided great quality service. Overall tastes were flavorful and meet expectations. Spicy tuna had the right amount of kick to it, loved that the rice and bulgogi wasn't dry. Fried sweet potatoes and dumplings gave off the perfect crunch. Really excited to see what's to come for this restaurant and will be back - highly recommend! PS. they're BYOB read more

Nice location, the interior definitely well done and vibrant looking. Service is well, no issue. The food is just ok not great not bad. Some items needs improvement. The miso soup is so so. The rolls are close to Hmart quality which isn't great but passable. The main thing is the ingredients are pretty low grade. I ordered a spicy seafood ramen and what I gotten was packaged ramen quality that I could've made with a Nong Shim package. read more
Itto Sushi provides high quality sushi at a great price! Their menu is full of special rolls, there's so many options sometimes it's hard to choose! In the summer, they have a lovely outdoor space on a quiet street, the perfect spot for a nice meal. They are serving up some of the best sushi in JC! read more

I've been ordering off the lunch special (maki combo c!) from here once every 1-2 weeks mostly since they opened (think the longest we went without ordering was a month..!) Prices did go up a tiny bit given the inflation but still so worth it with the soup, salad, and 3 rolls. Highly highly highly recommend, just look at the amount of fish in my rolls Random note - their spicy tuna rolls are spicier than their spicy salmon rolls, fyi for anyone with lower spice tolerance My bf and I usually get 2 maki combo c - tuna roll, salmon roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, eel roll, and Alaskan roll (basically all the ones we like to eat) and share read more
