I was told we could order any of the original 12 pieces à la carte, but when I asked the price per piece, the host hesitated and never actually answered the question. Then the bartender and sushi chef said, "Give them all 12 pieces. Run it back," in a way that made it sound like it was part of the experience, not an extra charge. At no point did anyone clearly state the price of these additional pieces or indicate that this would significantly increase our bill. When the check came, it was close to 700 dollars for two people who started with a 150‑dollar‑per‑person omakase and only had about a drink each. Every extra piece had been charged individually at full price, even though I had directly asked how much it would be. Instead of feeling taken care of, we left feeling misled and scammed. A wonderful meal was completely overshadowed by the lack of transparency at the end. All it would have taken was a simple explanation like, "Additional pieces are X dollars each," so we could make an informed decision. Because that did not happen, it feels like the upsell was intentional and deceptive. The sushi itself was excellent, but I cannot recommend this place until they are honest and upfront about pricing for add‑ons and do a better job of respecting their customers.
