Wanted to try the new restaurant tonight. However we were disappointed. Let's start with drinks. Ordered a martini. Cost was $14.00. Got a very small Martini glass that was half full of vodka. We LOVED this place! The new restaurant, under the new chef is amazing. Reminded me of Alma this is what Wayzata needed. Service was amazing and food top notch. Highly recommended this place and the quail was fantastic but the mushroom fiscasse stole the show. They even paired our wine! It's not the same place or use to be. I've been here a couple of times and the new happy hour menu is fantastic! I highly recommend the PEI Mussels, Sliders and the Honey-Sambal Wings. Then wash it all down with some of their unique specialty cocktails. read more

Our server was was what my mom used to call a "luftibus" -- not very sure of what the hell she was doing. My friend and I both ordered the same bacon/tomato/cheese/scallion scramble, though my friend requested no scallions (which should have been a tip-off as to what we ordered.) We both got the wrong thing by the expediter. Not a tragedy; it happens sometimes. But after quite a few minutes, our server came to the table and we pointed out the wrong food was brought out. At that point, she suggested that the kitchen would redo the egg scramble (but not the now cold toast and hash browns.) The manager suggested the same thing. This is supposed to be somewhat upscale dining and I was really taken aback. When the correct orders were brought out, the food was decent but truly nothing special. And how hard is it to make a good egg scramble? Too bad, because Ninetwentyfive has a prime location in downtown Wayzata with a lovely outdoor veranda. They could practically print their own money. However, if they don't up their service (and food) game pretty dramatically, and soon, I predict they won't last past the end of the year. read more

Came in with a friend for brunch, upon entering we were stopped by a lady who told us a hostess will be with us in just a moment. Okay several minutes later, she shows up, tells us to wait, then walks away to find menus, all the while we are just awkwardly standing by the entrance. Mind you, there are a lot of open tables, so we ask if we can sit at a booth by the window, the hostess rudely and somewhat loudly tells us the table isn't cleared and she motions with her hand to follow her. - Strike one. This is where the waiting starts. We are noticed by several servers, all who walk by us and make eye contact and refuse to ask us if we would like to order anything, we did not even get water at this point. Finally a very young server takes our drinks order (mimosas), then after more waiting, a different server walks over to ask us if we would like to order anything, we remind her we ordered mimosas, she tells us she will go and check on them. Then we wait some more (at this point 30 minutes into our brunch), and lo and behold, our mimosas are on their way. The server approaches our table with the drinks and almost sets one glass down on the table, when all of a sudden she says "I don't like the base of this glass" and walks away with our mimosas! Really? Just bring back our drinks, please. - Strike two. 10 minutes later she comes back to check our IDs, okay sure, she stares at them for several very long seconds then says she is going to check on them under a light and walks away with our drivers licenses. WHY AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH OUR DL's?? You better not scan and retain a copy, judging by how disorganized your business is, the last thing I want is for you to have my ID on file. And did you think I gave you a fake ID? - Strike three. Our mimosas come back with yet again a different server and she apologizes. Okay, thanks. At this point, we are some 45+ minutes into our brunch and we did not even order food. I cannot fathom this place is even staying open, what is going on in there? 45 minutes for two mimosas, why the hassle, it's not rocket science. Eventually we leave because after almost an hour we were hungry, thankfully there were plenty of other restaurants that actually take care of their patrons. I am not going back to this place, nor would I recommend anyone to visit. I felt as though we were bothering the servers and they could not wait for us to leave. I would give this place a zero if I could. read more

They haven't worked out all the operational kinks yet. Seemed like they use quality ingredients but my omelette and the wife's scramble were cold. For some reason they had three different servers covering four or five tables outside and our server had only us and then tables on the other side of the restaurant. We had to go find him to get the check. It's a nice space and shows some promise but they need more practice or something. read more

Probably THE WORST service in Twin Cities. Servers are slow and no where to be found. Takes forever for food to arrive (cold too)

There's a reason this was the only "nice" place with last-minute dinner reservations available. I don't have space to list all the mishaps, but it was incredibly awkward and disappointing. Vegetarian food had meat in it. Twice. Ridiculous up-charges. Slow service for everything EXCEPT running our credit cards. And they handled the mishaps very poorly. Food was decent, but the service was so awful that we will definitely never be back. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. We sat at our table for over a half an hour without being acknowledged as the 2 only other tables outside (that came after us) were being waited on. We asked the waitress if we had a waiter and she completely ignored us. We finally left as the tables that came after us got their food. As we were walking out, a server asked if we got waited on and when we said no, he just said oh I'm sorry about that. I highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

We were excited to try it out given how beautiful the building is. Unfortunately the service was confused and clunky at best. The waitress appeared to have no clue what she was doing and hostess refused our request for a booth even though many were available all night. Food was disappointing - pasta was awful. read more

Lenny wasn't cooking but Chef Daniel was. Chilled soup and fried green tomatoes for appetizers were excellent. Wild boar ragu and bison tartare entrees were also very good. Decent wine list, somewhat tentative service. Not much buzz as opposed to nearby Cov but on the whole, very good. Will return. read more

Went for dinner to try the new concept restaurant. I was disappointed. I was brought the wrong first course, and then when they did bring the soup I ordered, they didn't bring a spoon, even though there were none on the table. My chilled asparagus soup had so much mint, and some other flavor, that the taste of asparagus was obliterated. Then I ordered the pork, and though the meat was lovely and perfectly cooked, the attending "plum ketchup" left a strong and unpleasant herb aftertaste. I couldn't eat it. My husband tasted it and agreed. I'm worried for them. I think they are taking quite a risk for a hotel restaurant, which needs to cater to many different guests, and tastes. read more

Had a wonderful dinner there last night! The wait staff was attentive but not overly. The food was creative and delicious. Everything is much improved with the new chef and menu. Service is slow, if you are seated in the upper level it is very slow. Only two small unisex bath rooms. expect a long wait depending on how crowded the bar is. Drinks are the usual, beer is mostly all craft style that is hoppy. Bottle beer is the same with Grain Belt and Bud. Very elegant setting with prices to match read more

We had visitors in town and took them to 925. We had a 2:00pm reservation for 9 people on a Sunday afternoon. Our visitors had a 5 1/2 hour drive ahead of them so we ordered soon after we were seated. After 50 minutes and still no food, I spoke to the manager. He said a table of 18 placed their order 2 minutes before us and they were cooking our food. He diidn't know how long it would be. I asked if the large party had a reservation and he said it didn't matter. He said they had had a busy morning. Didn't matter to us. I think it is reasonable to expect food to come in less than an hour after ordering. At no point while we were waiting for food did anyone - server, manager, supervisor - apologize for the delay and let us know when we could expect our food. If they knew that it would take forever to get our food because of the large order placed before ours, they should have warned us so we could decide to stay or go.I food arrived after about 1 hour and 10 minutes (although we had to wait another 5 minutes for 2 of the meals). The manager asked what I wanted him to do and I said to comp the drinks. He said "no problem" but only took the first round off the bill. I will not be back. Besides the terrible restaurant service, there was no soap in the restroom. I told the front desk woman. An hour and a half later I went to the restroom again and still no soap. Also, the temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. We asked if they could lower the temp and they said they couldn't because it was tied in with the lobby. Overall, bad experience and I would not recommend. Much better places to go in Wayzata. read more

I dont usually write reviews but here it goes. We made reservations for 10 (including a highchair & baby in carrier) for Father's Day. I called the morning of to verify the reservation & make sure they got the highchair request & acknowledgment of room for baby carrier. We showed up & our party is squeezed into this very small narrow area with another large party & another group. The whole(inside)restaurant was basically empty @ the time & here is all of us squeezed into a corner(this a 10am reservation-so still early). How special for Father's Day. No highchair. Asked for highchair & never came. I had to go searching for one & a staff member said they never were informed we needed one??(called twice!). Everytime a member of our party showed up-everyone in aisle seats had to stand up & move out to get the rest of our party through because we were back to back with other party. Even though the server was nice it was sooooooo slow....we talking 20mins for a drink. One of the omelettes sent back for being undercooked & another the ingredients were cold inside. We were there to celebrate four great fathers on their special day & it all ended up being not special(as far as this restaurant experience goes). Management & staff need to get it together. I really want to love this place because I live walkable to it and want it to do well. I've now been five times and the food and ambiance is really good! However, the service is consistently "strange". For example: While sitting at the bar, my wife and I were asked what we would like to drink. I ordered a Lager on tap at which I was literally stared at for 30 seconds like she had no idea what requested. Stranger yet, she grabbed a cold glass and walked over to chat with two co-workers for another minute or two (with the glass I her hand warming). She finally got my lager, set it down and walked away to continue her conversation without taking my wife's order. So odd. She did finally realize her error but, seriously, it's like dive bar service at a high end place. We have also had to ask for bread that is routinely served. The staff overall is completely clueless. I have had the opportunity to dine at NineTwentyFive 2x since its opening. Once for brunch and once for dinner. On both occasions the service was excellent and so was the food. During both meals, our server and additional staff made sure we had all we needed/wanted but we're not intrusive. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu and specials for the day. We have a small child and the greeters gave her a choice of new toys to play with from a box they had near the restaurant entrance to keep her occupied/quiet during our meal. Very few restaurants do such a thing. I had a beef dish on one occasion and a breakfast sandwich of sorts during our brunch trip. Each time the serving was not too big or too small and was delicious. During both occasions there the executive chef came to our table to greet us and see how our meal was. I have never seen this before. He was polite, humble and very gracious when we complimented him on the meal. He was going to many tables just to see if every one of the guests were happy. In essence, at NineTwentyFive I was quite pleased both trips there because the staff absolutely go out of their way to make sure your happy. A rarity these days in many restaurants. My husband and I had dinner at the new Hotel Landing Ninetwentyfive last week. We tried a delicious Cherry Pie pinot noir that we loved. The bruschetta was fabulous. It had the most interesting and yummy cheese I've ever had with bruschetta. I ordered the pork chop, which was delicious and juicy. It came with fresh vegetables, polenta and a sauce I can't stop thinking about still. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the halibut. Finished off with a decadent chocolate dessert. Highly recommend. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The wait staff is superior and my compliments to the chef. Will be going back there soon. read more

Went here tonight for the first time, hoping all the documented issues had been fixed. They hadn't. Service was poor - finding our waiter to get a drink was a process, finding him again for a second was another one, though there seemed to be a ton of bus boys running around. Our food was just bad - bison tenderloin had been done 20 minutes before I saw it, showing up just warm enough for me not to send it back. My wife's dinner salad was the size of a side salad and they were "unable" to add any sliced chicken to it to make it a more reasonable size for a dinner salad. The fingerling potatoes were not cooked fully through. Wine was good. Bar looked cool. Rest of the restaurant looks like a Marriott. We left quickly and won't be back, many other better restaurants in Wayzata for sure - disappointed as the outside looks quaint and we really wanted this place to be a good alternative to the other nice restaurants in town. read more

I owe this new Wayzata eatery the favor of an updated review. My first visit came only days after the restaurant's opening. Service was spotty and my meal was underwhelming. Fast forward five weeks: our luncheon experience today was genuinely pleasurable. Seated on the verandah, we were spared having to listen to the guitarist/singer playing near the bar inside. Our server was terrific: always available, consistently friendly without being over-bearing. Both of our meals, a fantastic walleye sandwich roll and a polenta dish, were presented in a fresh, inviting manner, and the taste was terrific. The menu has been dramatically overhauled for the better since our initial visit. The offerings are inventive, especially the all-day breakfast items. Our only downside came at the expense of a seven-person table right next to us. They were obnoxiously loud and entirely unconcerned about their effect on other diners. We wish that management had asked them to tone it down, and we left a suggestion at the conclusion of our meal. read more
