It's so nice having a neighborhood brewery. The beer is good, though as a person who likes non-hoppy beers I sometimes have less to choose from. The food is where Nine Giant shines, though. Came here for some beers, and I was impressed! The bartenders are super friendly, and they let you try as many of their beers as you want before ordering! It's also cool that you have the option of getting a full pour or a half pour- that way you can try more of the beers without filling up your belly too much. Also, they're pretty generous with those half pours anyway! The beers are also really good- I tried the super saison and the milk stout, and both were great! We've been to this brewery a few times now. It is certainly cozy inside. If you have a big crowd I would maybe suggest a different spot- unless there is a hidden room I'm not aware of. In addition to the brews they have some great bites to eat, although I was disappointed the pretzels weren't on the menu anymore. Also there is wine available for your non-beer drinking friends. The food was okay at best... I would say it was not worth the price that you pay. Compared to other breweries I've been to I would say the food is definitely not up to par. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for a good place for food... the fries were five bucks for maybe a handful of fries. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was not very crowded (15 or so people). The place was bright and open and felt very sterile (which isn't always great unless you are at a hospital or a public bathroom). Bartenders were friendly but not overly helpful. II was never offered a taste of any of the beers to help me decide on something. The bartender only suggested a beer once I ask him what was popular. I love this small, but hip brewery! They have a short menu, but delicious food, too. My favorite part is that it is located right in the heart of the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood. Frustrated. Got six pints and appetizers for our group, and we felt rushed, irritated, and unappreciated. I asked for a sample of something after paying the bill, and "it would be a few minutes" after giving more than 20% tip after our beer pours and appetizers. Nine Giant is a great neighborhood gem. The food is excellent and always taste so, so fresh. I've visited around a dozen or more breweries around the area and in Ohio, and this brewery by far has the best food. Beer changes often and while they don't necessarily have a signature beer, I always find something I like on the menu. They don't offer flights, but I love that you can get a half pour of beer. My fiancé and I are so happy to have this new addition to our neighborhood! We've been eagerly awaiting the day it would finally open with high expectations. We came on opening day and it did not disappoint. Of course it was crowded (and rightly so), but that didn't stop them from getting food out quickly, serving the lines with a sense of urgency, and promoting an all around fun neighborhood vibe. First, the food. They had a limited menu for opening day so obviously we had to order everything. The fried pickles, pomme frites, and the cheeseburger. YUM! They were all done right and you can tell the ingredients and concept were selected very thoughtfully. The sauce for the fried pickles was delicious, the burger was super juicy with caramelized onions, and the frites were seasoned to perfection. The only (small) complaint I would have is the fries were slightly undercooked, probably due to wanting to get them out quickly. Now for the real reason people come - the beer. Note that they have frequently rotating taps. They are not set up for distribution so once it's gone, they move on to a new beer. We tried the IPA, Belgian style, and saison. Specific names are escaping me but I liked the Belgian style the most. The atmosphere - very casual and relaxed. Lots of community seating with high top tables and benches. Love the teal tiling behind the bar. Overall, we will definitely be back - and not just because we can walk there. read more

The falafel wrap will be vegan if you get with no sauce ( I wish they'd have hummus but they don't ) and the french fries are just perfect ! Love this place. Great addition to the neighborhood. They churn out a lot of beer from they're relatively small system. It's not all to my taste but they always have something I like. It also must be said that their ratio of good stuff is increasing all the time. It's also reasonably priced ($5-6 per beer). Also the food is great and really high quality. They've managed to be a fully scratch kitchen and call themselves a gastro-pub without being pretentious. I love taking friends here. First off the beer was tasty. Between my wife and I we tried 3 varieties, the IPA, Cream and Belgian single. All were very good and market price ($6). They offer half beers too, FYI, for half price. The food was delicious. However the food was a little overpriced, even for how good it was. 4 tiny pretzel balls for $6 seemed too much and a pint of fries was $5. The burger (no sides included) is $10) which I think was too much. There is a children's menu that apparently adults can order from. I may suggest that to save a buck or two. With that said, we will return and would recommend (at least for a drink). read more

I started out with a glass of the SOME KIND OF WASHINGTON and it was really good, for my next glass I had the SAVE FERRIS and it was even better than I thought it would be! Went there for beer and dinner tonight, five of us. I enjoyed the Stout beer, my buds said the other two they tried were "good." Guy with the beard at the bar ignored me when I asked questions but the ladies were friendly. Food: French Fry appetizer was very tasty; our burgers though large and with a tasty local-baked bun were extremely rare and had to be sent back. My order for the Mac n Cheese was somehow forgotten; after we complained it came and we were not charged for it. They are new to the micro brewery game and have made a good start...just need a little tweaking here and there. Could use flights of samples. We will try Nine Giant again. read more
