I love this Nike Factory Store! This location at the Citadel Outlets is big. It's two floors and always packed no matter what weekend. They have such a huge selection of items at this location. The bottom floor is the Men's and the Women's section is the top floor. We came by on 4th of July so the deals and prices had more discounts. The staff here are all over the store to assist those looking for particular apparel or shoes. I've found great deals on tees, hats, bags, shoes and shorts over the years. This location from time to time has good Jordan Brand sneakers and Kobe sneakers at big markdown prices. My son had a really scary incident here today when his Crocs got caught in the escalator. The escalator started pulling/eating up the front of his shoes, causing him to fall forward. Thankfully, he was able to get his feet out, but looking at the damage to BOTH of his shoes, this could have been so much worse. What bothered me the most was how the situation was handled afterward. The manager, Hilda, immediately put the blame on him by saying he wasn't paying attention. Look I was already embarrassed and Im sure my son was also embarrassed having to walk around afterward with both of his shoes completely chewed up in the front. He's a kid. He had just fallen, his shoes were ruined, and he was embarrassed and then to have an adult tell him it was because he wasn't paying attention just didn't sit right with me. I understand accidents happen, and I'm not claiming to know exactly why his shoes got caught. But I don't think immediately placing blame on a child before even reviewing what happened was appropriate or compassionate. They also didn't file an incident report. I'm extremely thankful my son is okay because looking at what happened to his shoes, I keep thinking about how differently this could have ended. I really hope management takes this seriously and uses it as an opportunity to review both escalator safety and how situations involving children and customer safety are handled. read more

This is easily the largest Nike factory store I've ever been to. The selection here at the time wasn't super great for adults (the way I judge this is if there are retro Jordans in the clearance section). But you can't judge the store too harshly for that, as factory stores by nature are a bit of a treasure hunt and can change completely from one day to the next. However the toddler section was the best I've ever seen. Ended up leaving with 6 pairs. Only reason I give this location 4 stars is how busy it seems it is. I probably waited 30 mins in line to check out. read more

The Nike outlet store at Citadel is a great place to find bargains for shoes. What used to be $150 can be as low as $49 for a pair. They even have an additional 30% off on the entire wall. You can come away with several pairs of shoes. There's no way you could do this at their regular store since the shoes are very expensive but they are well-made. They received a four star rating due to Service. They have a lot of workers running around, but they are not quick to help anyone. read more

I went to return shoes purchased online...they were ugly in person. The desk staff was great. Friendly engaging and knowledgeable. After I finished my transaction I decided to shop a bit I hit the clearance shelves. Everything on the wall was 30% off the listed price, great deal right?!?. I asked the floor staff for the final price on a pair of shoes marked $54 97. The first person smugly says it's $54.97, I respond "with the 30%? " He says, oh yeah take 30% off that price... I go to the second floor person and ask the price with the discount. She says, there's a sign with the price chart. I tell her $54.97 is not on the chart. She walks over to show me that it is.... She acknowledges that's it's not and says, they'll be 30something... I would have pulled out my phone and did the math myself, but my hands were full and the cellphone reception sucks. This location has two floors and was so busy. It might be one of the busiest Nike outlets that I've been to. It's two floors. Mens is on the first. Take the escalator up to the second floor. You'll find womens and kids. I always check out all the sneakers when I'm at Nike. They really didn't have that great a selection for women. My biggest complaint here is how incredibly slow the checkout lines go. They're massive and just cheap along. Even when every register (upstairs and downstairs) is manned, expect it to take over 15 minutes to check out. When we went last, it took over 20. That's madness. If we didn't have to get shoes, then we would've just left and shopped elsewhere. It would've saved us time for sure. And speaking of shoes, here's my other complaint: we came here for a pair of shoes for our 3 year old. The selection they had for kids was paltry. We've been to several Nike Factory Stores and they've always had a great experience. However, this location basically just has one tiny corner of next to nothing to chose from. It was a total disappointment. I can't speak for the other departments of this location. But our experience from the selection of kids shoes to incredibly long checkout wait left us wanting more. They weren't at the store so I ordered them online with a guy and I asked them three times to confirm that he added both pairs of shoes. Turns out he only added one when the shipment have arrived. The shopping experience on the floor at Nike Citadel Outlet Store in City of Commerce was great until I got to the cashier. Angie did not greet us with a "Hello", a "how was everything" or even a smile. Instead Angie, immediately showed her frustration by taking my tennis shoes out of the box with a mean and bothered look on her face. When she threw the shoes back in the box after checking that they were the right size, I told her to please be kind with the shoes and the box since they were a gift for a friend and I did not want the beautiful paper lining to be wrinkled much less torn. I only said this because Angie was being extremely blunt in her handling of the product. Visibly bothered by my request, Angie stared at me for a few seconds, said absolutely nothing and proceeded to now literally throwing the box with so much force inside the bag, making a louse noise on the counter. It was only obvious that she was now intentionally making it clear to me that she was indeed extremely upset with my kind request. After seeing her rude attitude, I held back and said nothing because my 2 young daughters (ages 13 & 15) were with me and I did not wish the situation to escalate. In a low voice I did say, "unbelievable" in hopes that she would see that I was indeed very disappointed with her service. I paid and Angie did not bother to say "thank you for shopping" or "have a great day", nothing came out of her mouth. Both my daughters picked up on Angies extremely rude behavior and as soon as we walked out of the store, they asked me "why did you allow her to treat you like that? She was was so mean to you. You did nothing to provoke her." I told my girls that it was obvious that Angie does not enjoy her job and that unfortunately some people do not have the capacity to service people with kindness and respect. Some people are not cut to be working in retail if they do not truly enjoy working with and for people, in this case customers. If a person does not have the touch to provide a good environment and be welcoming and courteous to customers, then they belong in the warehouse and not on the floor much less in front at the cashiers where they are the face and image of the company. I consider myself a very positive person and I want to believe that Angie was simply having a very bad day. Maybe a customer before me got on her nerves and I unfortunately paid the price. I don't now her reasons. All I know is that I did not deserve that treatment especially in front of my family. Truth is we all have bad days. However, I strongly encourage that these employees take the day off on those bad days, or take a break to regain themselves, and most importantly be reminded that they are there to make the Nike shopping experience a good one for all of us, including the staff members. A periodic training on customer service would come in handy as well to remind and encourage your employees to always treat customers with courtesy and respect. As a teen I worked at Carl's Jr. and later in my 20's I worked in retail and one of the most valuable lessons that I took from those experiences is that a simple smile comes a long way. Finally made to the Nike outlet inside Citadel. It had been so long since I had been there. In fact, there wasnt even a Nike back then and the outlet mall was less than half the size of what it is now. Ok, now I'm dating myself... yes, i'm old. This Nike factory store is very busy. There are 2 levels. The lower level is men's clothing and shoes. It was a little chaotic and there was only one set of benches to sit at and try on shoes. There were some nice finds on the back wall but the prices werent as low as I would like to have seen. There were several NikeLab footwear pairs but they werent discounted much from the original retail price. Apparel didnt have too many gems for me either. Maybe next time I'll score something. Womens and kids apparel/shoes are all located upstairs. Never made it up there. Most 2 level Nike factory stores I've been to have the mens sections upstairs.
