They were playing…read moreItalian music, and it was really cool being able to watch the pizzas being made right in front of us in the open fire ovens. It definitely gave the place a fun and authentic vibe. Unfortunately, our experience with the woman working at the register really took away from the visit. While I was looking through the menu, she was on her phone watching TikTok videos loudly. When I asked her a question about the menu, she didn't really answer and instead just pointed at the menu. She came across as very unfriendly and made us feel like we were bothering her by asking questions. What bothered us the most happened when I stepped outside to get something from the car and my wife went up to look at the menu. The woman told her, "We only have an English menu," even though my wife had already been speaking to her in English. We both felt that the comment was unnecessary and inappropriate, and it made my wife feel singled out because of her appearance. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed the pizza and the atmosphere, but the customer service left us with a pretty negative impression of the experience. The food was great, but I hope the restaurant addresses how customers are treated at the register.

This is such a great hidden gem in Sandy Springs! The first time I came was years ago and was…read morepleasantly surprised by this "pizzeria" tucked away in a Sandy Springs community. I just recently went again for the gorgeous expansion and am HOOKED! It is so much more than a pizzeria as it has an extensive menu with pastas, salads, desserts and a great wine list. A must try for anyone who is looking for a great Italian meal that is home made with both a casual and now upscale ambiance. Here is the scoop: Food: I judge all Italian pizza by the basics - if you can nail the margherita - you know what you are doing. This is the BEST margherita pizza in Atlanta - hands down. The dough, the sauce, the cheese - all high quality ingredients and baked to perfection. I love the rigatoni a la vodka for pasta. I am a pescatarian but tend to stick to vegetarian dishes at Italian restaurants. The caprese salad is wow. The pasta is perfectly al dente and the sauce is incredibly delicious (add burrata for extra creaminess). The dessert however is my to-die-for favorite thing here - the tiramisu! It is the fluffiest, just enough coffee flavor (not overpowering like most places) piece of heaven I have the pleasure of devouring every time I enjoy a meal at Sunnyside (warning it is a massive piece of tiramisu so enjoy responsibly!). It truly is the icing on cake at the end a delicious meal. Kids love the gelato and it is home made - the ingredients are thoughtfully selected and they change up the offerings all the time, keeping it interesting for both grown ups and kiddos. Ambiance: for walks in the area is super cute and trendy - essentially the part of the restaurant that existed before. It gets packed quickly so come early to secure your table. The new expansion is GORGEOUS and reserved for reservations only. This space has a stunning rose crystal light up bar that takes center stage. There are comfortable booths for larger parties. The color schemes are warm, inviting and modern making it perfect to bring the family, date night, girls night, etc. etc. Parking: free, easy parking in lot right in front. Reservations: Resy So glad to see this restaurant continue their succcess/expand and welcome even more guests to enjoy a lovely Italian meal in a beatiful ambiance.

We order the shrimp scampi and pepperoni pizzas, risotto balls, and honey hot lemon pepper wings with blue cheese. I dont eat beef but my mother said the pepperoni pizza was good. As for the scampi pizza, it was amazing. The crust had great chew, the sauce held together well with the cheese and the shrimp were flavorful all on their own. It was truly a highlight. The wings were pretty good. Cooked how I like them, the wing sauce blended well and the wing size was great FOR ME! The risotto balls kind of fell flat. The breading was too bland. I had to eat the inside separately to appreciate the flavors. The saving grace was the homemade marinara sauce. That itself could have been served on a spoon. Overall id definitely come back again and I truly enjoyed my meal.

Let's start with a positive. The scenic walk into the restaurant is beautiful and smells SO good. The contrast to what's directly outside of the corridor on the street is stark! BUT in a lot of ways this spot is outdated and feels cheap, and not in a charming way. If you're dropping an average of $30 on small entrees, you'd think that your table wouldn't wobble uncontrollably and that the clearly old/distressed booth seating wouldn't make you feel like you're at a Chili's. Even our waiter seemed embarrassed by the wobble as it ultimately made me spill my water, and he tried to fix it (without much success). And while he was nice, it took him a LONG time to infrequently service our table but it was not busy at all. The food was also a mixed bag. Our pizza (Quattro Formaggio) was impeccable and the star of the show! It was happily shared by my husband and me. We also decided to share a lasagna.... this was a fail. It was SO salty. The type of salty that makes your lips and the top of your mouth burn a little. Yikes. Maybe suffocating the patron with salt is how they get folks to order their desserts... I could have overlooked the steeper than normal price of their tiramisu and pulled the trigger on that if the general experience of the food and restaurant was more positive. This location just doesn't feel worth it to me. It aspires to be upscale (and maybe it once was) but honestly the experience does not come across that way to me, which is unfortunately a classic Atlanta dining tale.

While the food, ambiance, and ingenunity of Grana remains unmatched (more on that to come) my most recent experience was marred by one thing: the service. The waitress we had that evening was abysmal. She was super low energy and slow, and just seemed mentally clocked out the whole time. We had planned to make something of a night of Grana, but after 30 minutes of her bringing down the vibe we opted to finish our food and grab our second drinks at another place nearby. I'm a former server and understand you can have off-days, but for a server to be totally checked out like that when everyone's spending $35+ isn't really acceptable. Aside from that, though, Grana was still great. The food was superb, and I thought the menu selection was cool and well thought-out. The general vibe and ambiance was great as well. Will try to come again and avoid that particular server.

Let me start with some positives:…read more 1) absolutely delicious and unique flavors with good ingredients. 2) the pizza is not nauseously greasy, and I might consider this "guilt-free" pizza. Okay now that I got the niceties out of the way, let's dig into some not-so-great attributes. 1) The portions (for the price) are laughable. I mean a 12" thin crust for $20 is wild, especially considering that the overhead for pizza is not high. I worked many years in pizza... I know a thing or two. $10 for 4 thin slices of cheese bread? Hmmmmm. 2) They should make it glaringly obvious that you are ordering what some consider a personal pizza and shouldn't be shared by any more than 2 adult humans. Or maybe that you're getting 4 measly sticks of cheese bread. You will most likely not have leftovers and I say this as a person who doesn't seek big portions. Outside of the toppings, it's not clear what exactly you are ordering unless you search through the separate FAQ on their website. Hmmmmm. 3) This pizza place is in the Underground which is just notoriously hard to navigate and lowkey dangerous depending on the time of day. There are minimal instructions on how to arrive. We live walking distance so I sent my husband. He said there were LOTS of umm... incapacitated people and notably angry solicitors (12AM, so expected). You might happen to stumble upon or into a fight to get pizza from here. I know that their rent can't be high... which makes the cost-to-portion of their products even more laughable. 4) Whatever their online system is seems to not be accurately calibrated, at least when we ordered. We ordered at 12AM and got a confirmation that said it'd be ready by 6PM... we had to call and confirm for ASAP, and the person who answered the phone was even more confused by that. She ended up calling back and we worked it out, but still. That level of hassle to order pizza of all things is clunky to say the least. Idk. I'm not convinced. The flavor was awesome but the other stuff makes this place hard to revisit. I'm sure they do good business from the surrounding clubs, which might also explain the absurd prices. Getchu some, but take caution.

I got the garlic and olive oil slice and it was pretty good. A little oil-e and I didn't realize it wasn't a tomato sauce based slice which I would have preferred. The desert pies do look good but you'd need to come with your crew to trie given the $18+ price. Otherwise, single slice deals (for size and quality) and pricing makes sense I think.

He kept the rosé coming, checked on me without hovering, gave me space when I needed it, and somehow seemed to know exactly what I needed without me having to ask.
