Twelve of us dined here for my birthday in July. Been meaning to post my review and photos. It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the food!! DH and I shared the calamari with others. I had the butternut ravioli with chicken and DH had the linguini with clams. Everything was well prepared. The ravioli tasted fresh made and the chicken was tender. Busy place with a nice atmosphere; and you need to call for reservations.

Chicken Saltimbocca

Wonderful restaurant. Jazzy background music. Great ambiance. Great service. Delicious food.... We had the fried calamari which was perfect! For dinner I ordered the chicken Saltinbocca - which was good but missing the sage, spinach and white wine. The Mrs. had the gorgonzola risotto with filet tips and it was outstanding! My Saltinbocca came with spaghetti and the sauce was just perfect. The spaghetti had been sautéed in the sauce and then they added a nice ladle of sauce on the bottom of the spaghetti and on the top. I had them put a ton of grated parmigiano cheese.... And I was in heaven. Would we return..... absolutely! The red sauce was way better than most other Italian places I have tried in the Wilmington area. Their sauce is the real deal. Well done guys!

We ended up here a bit on an accident - my boyfriend got thought he was calling Roko when he made the reservation. Nevertheless, I had heard wonderful things about Nicola's and was excited to try them. Had reservations for 8:30 but we were able to be sat around 8 which was wonderful. The service was awesome throughout the whole night. The owner was very hands on and spoke to all of the customers which I loved. I was a little disappointed with the menu. I didn't feel there was a ton of variety and most of the dishes sounded very similar to one another. We ordered Chicken Emiliana and Dolce Picante. The chicken dish was kind of like chicken Marsala with a little twist. However, to me, it tasted like maple syrup. It was good, but the sweetness of the dish was overpowering. The Dolce Picante was great and had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. The fried mozzarella was outstanding! Loved every bite of it. The complimentary bread was very hard and difficult to eat. And I really didn't enjoy it that much. The entire meal I couldn't help but compare the food to Roko. Which is the only reason I gave four stars. Had I never been to Roko, I think Nicola's would have gotten 5 stars.

The food was fabulous! It did take 40 mins to get the entree after receiving appetizers so pack your patience. If you're looking for aesthetics this isn't it but if good food is what you want, look no further this is it!

The pizza was very good, our server was sweet, and the tiramisu was probably one of the best i've tried

10/10! Absolutely loved everything about this place. Ambience, food, service- all incredible! I am already planning my next trip back! Make a reservation!

Antipasto with 'chilled' ingredients

I truly wanted to give this place five stars. I've heard great things about it and was looking forward to genuine Italian fare. Sadly, it's hard to imagine the chef is from Sicily/Long Island, as the food did not live up to the hype. Four of us started with the antipasto app, which was clearly premade and had been refrigerated. Mozzarella was served chilled, a huge faux pas, and the quality was sub par. Certainly something that could be purchased at any supermarket. For entrees, hubby got the pappardelle, I got the l'inguine pescatore, and friends got the eggplant parm and eggplant rollatini. All entrees were bland and lacking flavor, though my seafood was cooked perfectly. The quality of the pasta itself was good, but no where near the best I've had. Our server, Ashley, was excellent! She never stopped smiling, and her knowledge of the menu was evident. A huge asset to this establishment! The atmosphere is casual, and I would recommend this restaurant for families rather than romantic or quiet dining. Overall, I don't think we will be returning any time soon.

Pasta tastes like egg noodles chicken was way to thick and was tough. Staff was friendly but I would not go there again

The building is old and repurposed from the previous establishment. The inside is a stucco style interior with an "Italian" vibe. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. They did ask if we had reservations which we did not. After being seated we noticed most of the tables were reserved. Note for future outings here. Our server, Marie, was great. We ordered calamari and waters. They do have a nice wine list, beer, and cocktails for those partaking. She returned shortly with our waters and a few minutes later our bread and calamari. The complimentary bread and the calamari were both good. When she dropped off the beverages and appetizer, she took our dinner orders. We ordered the Chicken Francaise, Zuppa di Pesce, and Pollo Parmigiana. While we were waiting for our food, the servers sang happy birthday to someone. It's nice to see restaurants still doing this. Once our food arrived, we were definitely ready to enjoy. Enjoy we did. We all sampled each others plates and we all agreed the dishes were well prepared and tasted great. I'm sure someone will look at the spaghetti with the Pollo Parmigiana and criticize. I will say, the spaghetti and sauce complimented the meal because the chicken was cooked and seasoned just right. A good balance for my liking. We will continue to dine here. Recommend you give it a try. Our server Marie was great! Always seemed to have a smile. Special notes: if you're dining in the evening make reservations. For lunch, I think you're ok without reservations. There's also plenty of parking.

We had an absolutely amazing experience here!…read more We went on a belated Valentines date the Monday after, they still had their V-day specials available and our waitress, Ella, was so kind and well-informed! She told us about all of the specials and gave us suggestions to help us select our meal, honestly her personality alone made us want to come back but the food sealed the deal. We started with the Filet Tartine which absolutely blew us away, then shared the beef Wellington and the brussells, this was our first time having a Wellington and on top of being delicious the tableside service was outstanding! The side of brussells were the star for sure, with pancetta and apricot, savory but sweet. So amazing. We also shared a few drinks throughout the meal, the tiramisu martini, the lemon meringue, gardens of Augustus, and the10 year tawny, everything was amazing, though we're definitely coming back for the tiramisu martinis! And finally, don't get me started on the view, the large windows face out over the river and look out to the battleship, we got there right as the sun was setting and added to the romance of it all. Overall we had the best Valentines anniversary of 4 years thanks the Ella and her team at Sugo, Thanks!

This area has many restaurants but each one is as busy as the next. When in doubt, make a reservation. We were seated and Kellie was our server. She is friendly and attentive, she was back by the table many times. There is a lively vibe here with great music playing. It can get loud, but you can still have a conversation. High ceilings, old building, and cool mural and decor don the inside. After we made our drink orders, we were deciding on salad or appetizers. The portions here are very large. I actually skipped a salad this time so I could enjoy more of the Grandma pizza! We added pancetta and mushrooms and it was so delicious. Crust was thick and crunchy and the flavor is top notch. The two of us shared the large pie, and we still took some to go. The menu changes, and we saw some new desserts on the menu. If you can leave room to try, they were highly recommended by Kellie. Definitely thinking of enjoying a pasta special next time too. This is the best pizza in the area. Take it from a born and bred Long Island girl who relocated to NC. There are the greats here, you just have to look. Benny's is definitely a great. 5 stars

We were guided by other Yelpers' reviews. When booking our reservation, we opted to sit at the kitchen counter, which I recommend if possible. It's quite entertaining to watch the kitchen flow and various dishes be made. To start, we ordered the dates, croquetas, and the salad. All were delicious and light enough that we were still able to enjoy our entrees - agnolotti and the rigatoni. I hadn't read many reviews about the agnolotti but it was the star of the show. The rigatoni is their classic and doesn't disappoint. We already determined that next time, we'll need to try the beignets and possibly the lasagna! There were only 2 of us, so we had to limit our dishes. Service was incredible (attentive and friendly) and the restaurant itself is adorable. I totally understand why this is one of Wilmington's top-rated restaurants!

Not your typical, Olive Garden-style Italian fare. The menu is relatively small, with a good variety of salads, starters, and main courses. Quanto Basta is quickly becoming one of our favorites. I said a well kept secret because we have need seen it crowded. The atmosphere is about as good as it gets. There is authentic music playing lightly in the background. Noticeable but not intrusive. Just right for quiet conversation with your group or a friendly couple at the next table. Our server was Jason and he was excellent. He presented the evening's specials politely and answered out questions knowledgeably. We started with a cocktail. Carolyn had an Aperol Spritzer and I ordered the Jack Daniel's Italian Sour. One of the best sours I have ever had. Jack and Amaretto with a fresh made sour mix. Not too sweet, and was bourbon forward. We ordered Fettuccine John Angelo - fresh made pasta with an Alfredo style sauce, and Pancetta. Served with wedges of homemade rosemary focaccia baked fresh daily. We asked that it be split so we could both have some. We also ordered the Veal Scaloppine Alla Saltimbocca. A tender slice of veal with sage, prosciutto and melted mozzarella with white wine butter sauce. The kitchen wouldn't split that dish, but Jason brought us an extra plate and a sharp knife. Both dishes were delicious. Both were an ample serving that made it easy to share. It was just the right amount. The white wine butter sauce was spectacular (and the bread was perfect for sopping it up). Note: sopping is a southern thing, and perfectly permissible here. Seldom do we order dessert, but tonight we couldn't resist the Affogato Brownie, an Espresso - soaked, double dark chocolate brownie topped with vanilla gelato and amarena cherries. It was so good. They have an extensive wine list and some craft beers as well. Here's the best part - the prices were quite reasonable. Two cocktails ($13 each), two entrees, and dessert for $100 including a 20% tip! As I said, Quanto Basta is quickly becoming a favorite. We will be back and hope we will see you there!
