    Italian Salad and Mussels

I've lived here for 21 years and never went to this restaurant. We absolutely loved it. It was our 42nd anniversary and wanted a great dinner. They delivered!! Dan the waiter was awesome and very knowledgeable and Attentive. I'm on Keto and didn't want the Carbs, So I order the Italian Salad and mussels in white wine sauce . Main entree was Veal Piccata on a bed of spinach!! Amazing! The chef understood very light breading and seasoning and he or she came through. I liked the area where we sat. All the way back in a corner away from other patrons and kitchen. The host or owner came over to ask if we liked everything and it was a nice gesture to ask. So overall a great experience and we will go back

    Baked ziti

The staff were okay, but unfortunately the food really missed the mark this time. All of our pasta was overcooked, to the point where the noodles were falling apart and almost shredded. My vodka sauce (and one of my friend's as well) was only lukewarm and very thin, more like a watery tomato soup than a sauce. Oddly, the noodles themselves were extremely hot, but so soft that it was hard to even pick them up without them breaking apart. My husband ordered a baked ziti, and his dish was even worse, the noodles were completely overdone and lacked any structure. You could not stir the cheese in without the noodles shredding. When we brought this up, the staff seemed a bit confused, so we showed them how easily the noodles were falling apart. Instead of being apologetic or acknowledging the issue, the response felt more like, "Okay, so what do you want?" which came across as a bit abrasive and dismissive. They did still charge us for our appetizer and drinks (one cocktail and a soda), which felt a bit off given the situation. It wasn't necessarily about the cost, but more about the lack of effort to make things right, it just didn't feel like there was much care in how the situation was handled. We've had better experiences on Resy before, so this visit was disappointing. Atmosphere was ok. Temp was fine.

The wait when our party arrived was long. We added our name to the online reservation and continued to check as the time neared. Despite the restaurant being more than half empty as our 8:30 reservation approached, the hostess continued to tell me that nothing was available and we would have to wait until the time approached. Insane. Finally a manager stepped in and got us seated but the hostess was no help at all. Once seated, the server was very nice, kind and helpful. She gave product recommendations and checked on us frequently. I ordered the chicken Marsala and added pasta. Absolutely delicious!! And the portion was enough for me to have some to take home. Aside from the initial experience, our group really loved this place. So much they were willing to return the next day, although that didn't happen. If you go, try the chicken Marsala. It's really flavorful.

We met a few couples there for a dinner night out! We had never been here! We started in the bar and had a drink while we waited for the other couples to arrive. The bartenders were happy to see us because the place was very quiet on a Friday night. He ordered the chicken Parm and I ordered the penne à la vodka with sausage. He finished his plate and I certainly could've eaten all of mine as well! The food was excellent and flavorful. One little drawback was, I felt there wasn't enough sausage in my penne. The service was excellent and they were kind enough to give us separate checks. The one drawback I have is it had a very 90s flare and with all the other restaurant choices in the area I felt like it could use a makeover and something more updated.

Omg!!!! After a day at the beach we wanted an Italian meal. We all got Alfredo which we eat Alfredo once a week so kinda consider us Alfredo snobs. This I was the best Alfredo we have had in a VERY long time! I got extra sauce as I like mine a little more saucy. It was very flavorful which we love as many Alfredo's can be bland. I got a Ceaser salad and the bread was very fresh and soft. We are coming back to Wilmington over NYE and will be picking up Alfredo from here again!

Back on January 31st, Tony, friends and I dined at Osteria Cicchetti. It was the first time to Tony and me. Why did we wait so long!? We started with the caprese salad with fresh mozzarella burrata, thick sliced tomatoes with a pesto dressing. There was only one burrata; the other two were regular mozzarella. The menu should read, "fresh mozzarella and fresh burrata." Our two entrees were the linguini with clams in a white wine sauce; and the lamb ragu. My ragu was topped with ricotta. The pasta was cavatelli. The lamb was very tender Both were excellent!! Our friends shared a minestrone soup; and had the chicken parmesan and chicken piccata. They were very happy with their food. The bread that was served was fresh out of the oven. Service was very good here. The place was very noisy but we had arrived (with reservations) at prime time. Half way through our dinner, it quieted down. Over all, a delicious dinner.

"A bottle of red, a bottle of whites It all depends upon your appetite I'll meet you any time you want In our Italian Restaurant" (Billy Joel) Osteria Cicchetti is a gorgeous high end Italian restaurant, and we had a wonderful dinner last night. The hostess and our server Emma were fantastic and really made us feel welcome. We started off with a complimentary bread basket which gave us time to contemplate their wonderful menu of salads, pizza, pasta, fish, meats, and risottos. We went with an Italian Salad ($10) of fresh mozzarella, roasted tomato, red onion, olive, roasted peppers, cucumber, and a pesto vinaigrette, and a Parma Pizza ($17) with mozzarella, arugula, tomato, and prosciutto. The salad was excellent and very refreshing. It was perfectly suited for two to share. The pizza resembled a flatbread divided into 8 slices, so it was also very shareable. If you like arugula, this pizza is for you because there was a lot of it. Our dinner ran $28.89 after tax and before tip.

I was chased out like a criminal when I picked up my DoorDash today. Not sure why. I mean I look a little different? Sadly, this is how my short Solar trip to North Carolina went at several locations. I don't think they realized how humiliating that was as I returned in the thick storm to prove my innocence. You know some of us brown people are good people just trying to order to go food. Not the experience I was hoping for when I decided to order a tiramisu to go. I really wanted to come in here for an espresso martini tomorrow but I will pass.

The building is old and repurposed from the previous establishment. The inside is a stucco style interior with an "Italian" vibe. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. They did ask if we had reservations which we did not. After being seated we noticed most of the tables were reserved. Note for future outings here. Our server, Marie, was great. We ordered calamari and waters. They do have a nice wine list, beer, and cocktails for those partaking. She returned shortly with our waters and a few minutes later our bread and calamari. The complimentary bread and the calamari were both good. When she dropped off the beverages and appetizer, she took our dinner orders. We ordered the Chicken Francaise, Zuppa di Pesce, and Pollo Parmigiana. While we were waiting for our food, the servers sang happy birthday to someone. It's nice to see restaurants still doing this. Once our food arrived, we were definitely ready to enjoy. Enjoy we did. We all sampled each others plates and we all agreed the dishes were well prepared and tasted great. I'm sure someone will look at the spaghetti with the Pollo Parmigiana and criticize. I will say, the spaghetti and sauce complimented the meal because the chicken was cooked and seasoned just right. A good balance for my liking. We will continue to dine here. Recommend you give it a try. Our server Marie was great! Always seemed to have a smile. Special notes: if you're dining in the evening make reservations. For lunch, I think you're ok without reservations. There's also plenty of parking.

She told us about all of the specials and gave us suggestions to help us select our meal, honestly her personality alone made us want to come back but the food sealed the deal. We started with the Filet Tartine which absolutely blew us away, then shared the beef Wellington and the brussells, this was our first time having a Wellington and on top of being delicious the tableside service was outstanding! The side of brussells were the star for sure, with pancetta and apricot, savory but sweet. So amazing. We also shared a few drinks throughout the meal, the tiramisu martini, the lemon meringue, gardens of Augustus, and the10 year tawny, everything was amazing, though we're definitely coming back for the tiramisu martinis! And finally, don't get me started on the view, the large windows face out over the river and look out to the battleship, we got there right as the sun was setting and added to the romance of it all. Just right for quiet conversation with your group or a friendly couple at the next table. Our server was Jason and he was excellent. He presented the evening's specials politely and answered out questions knowledgeably. We started with a cocktail. Carolyn had an Aperol Spritzer and I ordered the Jack Daniel's Italian Sour. One of the best sours I have ever had. Jack and Amaretto with a fresh made sour mix. Not too sweet, and was bourbon forward. We ordered Fettuccine John Angelo - fresh made pasta with an Alfredo style sauce, and Pancetta. Served with wedges of homemade rosemary focaccia baked fresh daily. We asked that it be split so we could both have some. We also ordered the Veal Scaloppine Alla Saltimbocca. A tender slice of veal with sage, prosciutto and melted mozzarella with white wine butter sauce. The kitchen wouldn't split that dish, but Jason brought us an extra plate and a sharp knife. Both dishes were delicious. Both were an ample serving that made it easy to share. It was just the right amount. The white wine butter sauce was spectacular (and the bread was perfect for sopping it up). Note: sopping is a southern thing, and perfectly permissible here.
