While the food was incredible with a lovely ambiance; our waitress rushed us completely. Our reservation was for 5:30pm and had paid and were leaving the restaurant by 6:15pm. For the price of the food, I do not want to be rushed out of the table. The only reason I am giving this a lower rating is because our waitress beginning boxing our food while others at the table were still eating to rush us out of the table. My mom has celiac disease and even told our waitress that she needed a gluten free pasta. Now my mom is having a horrible reaction - i do not know if they gave her gluten pasta or cooked the pasta in water that gluten pasta was cooked in but my mom is having a reaction. Highly recommend this place. It's a beautiful restaurant with lovely decor. We showed up 30 minutes before closing and still had wonderful service. No rush to get us out. What a lovely experience. The space is beautiful with a cozy and cool ambiance (the waterfall was a nice touch). We came in 25 minutes before closing and were welcomed with only smiles. We only stooped in for a drink and an appetizer, so this is only for the bar area. It was pretty crowded on a weekday night and the crowd was lively. The bar service was good and the app we ordered was divine - meatball sliders. If their entire menu is this tasty, then we can't wait to return. The place looks really nice when you first walk in. When you are seated, the tables are sticky. The drinks were good. The food was not impressive. Ordered both ravioli options and stuffed shells. The food did not taste fresh and left a weird taste in our mouth. The sauce was off and just did not do much for us. They did not bring out the bread that was supposed to be included with the meal. Walking in the door is an experience in it's self! it's dark and dreamy and very romantic. I was greeted by the bar tender the second I walked through the door. I was seated quickly and served water and menus quickly! I have had A LOT of Italian food prepared by a full blood Italian, Terrazzo is pretty darn close. It was so good!! Would taste a lot better without bread crumbs. Had to ask for parmesan cheese and they brought a shaker. No fresh bread and olive oil was offered. Let me start by stating I have been eating at this restaurant for 20 + years. The last review I ever wrote was 4 years ago. Ironically, it was for this exact place. We made a reservation for 10 people 3 weeks ago. We were seated at the glass high top table that has ample room for 8 (tight). The waitress was polite, but new. We placed an order for appetizers and they came out in reasonable time. We placed our dinner order which never came out! After a 1hr and 10 minutes and numerous requests for an update, we were told they had a few large tables in tonight so things were slow. Well, we never saw the manager or person in charge come to our table! We told the waitress when the food comes out to bring to-go-boxes. Unfortunately, we never got to eat together and everyone took their food home. Eating at 9pm doesn't work for me. Folks, we did get a 10% discount, but still never saw the person in charge. We understand it's the holiday season, but on a Tuesday night? Suggestion: If you can provide service, don't seat the people! Very disappointing experience! read more

I rarely give a bad review but Terrazzo, you need to do better. Salads were lukewarm. The Chicken Saltimbocca was insanely salty. It does not need more salt given the pancetta. I could not even eat it. Like many restaurants, they have their good and bad dishes. However, when ordering a special (not sure what it means) I personally expect it to be Amazing in taste, presentation, and ingredients. Not here, the Shrimp and Sausage rigatoni was awful - the sauce and rig was good, but the shrimp used was minimal and overcooked, there was plenty of sausage, but it too was overcooked. I was given 5 small shrimp which I had to dig for, and comparing that to my Grandson's Shrimp Parm (whatever the cheese was), he received 10 very large plump shrimp for about half the price (adult meals only here). The other meals my family enjoyed were good. This is how I see it and in order to compete the owner and cook honest: All specials should be on display so that the customer knows what to expect. Ordering food shouldn't be a lottery. Did I complain? No. Who wants to complain when out for a nice time. Been there and done that and the fun conversation always makes a change to not so fun for a bit. Would I go back - probably not for a while. We will see if the owner responds to my review. I just picked up the best meal to go from here. I wish I would've got pictures of all the dishes we ordered, but the food was so good it did not last!! The bistro special pizza was so flavorful and topped full of amazingly fresh ingredients. The chicken Alfredo was of course a delicious classic. We also ordered a lemon chicken aka romana dish that had a wonderful blend of veggies and a very nice lighter lemon sauce rather than the rich creaminess of the Alfredo. this was without a doubt the worst dining experience I've ever had in Wilmington...let me preface that by saying the meatball appy we finally were served was excellent. that is the end of good part of the meal. Our waitress got nothing right. I asked for iced tea with a lot of ice...It eventually came with no ice. Waitress said she would get me a glass of ice right away..15 minutes later she walked by in a cloud with nothing. I walked 10 ft to the bar and got it myself. The appetizer came out with a side salad my wife ordered but no dressing..dry.. the waitress said we never picked a dressing but declined to ask which one we wanted. Enough complaining about that. Almost an hour later our entrees were delivered by the manager because the waitress said they were slammed. The grilled steak Caesar. Salad i ordered medium rare came out cold with about 6 small strips of well done disgusting looking meat delivered by the manager . I said no way take it off. My wife's penne with sausage and spinach was a disgusting blob of oily cheese. I had the manager take that off too and left. I was shocked at how much I loved everything about this meal tonight. I had not been to Terrazzo for about 20'years. Not too many people talk about it so I figured I wasn't missing much. However, this was by far one of the best all around Italian meals I have had in a very long time. The decor of the restaurant is casual yet elegant with candlelit Ulta keys and old style Italian music playing. It was such a cozy spot for both casual or getting dressed up. There were several people eating alone enjoying some wine and catching up on reading or work, too. I can see why- it was lovely. Our server was wonderful! She was training someone and we loved both of them. The bread service was very nice with a delicious EVOO blend to dip it in. I had the chicken saltombucca and it was heavenly. Every bite was bursting with flavor. The shrimp scampi was also delicious and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. The NY strip was served with fries and a lot of mushrooms. I tried the steak and I wouldn't order it because the actual Italian food was amazing. My son really liked it though. The star of the night was the rigatoni alla vodka with spicy Italian sausage. How can something so simple be so good?? Absolutely wonderful! Our salads had some delicious dressings, too. For all of you ranch fans- try this out!! The service is great. The food isn't. Pasta Florentine is is a mess. Pasta is over cooked - and under seasoned. There's no sauce - it's like a big bowl of green mush covered in mozzarella cheese. Well, very disappointing to say the least. Been here several times but our experience this last time has killed it for us. When three tables come in after you, two of those order their food after you yet all three get their food before you do, one plate (lasagna) is cold and you ask for an explanation as to why and receive none then ask to speak to the manager and the request is ignored by "the owner" who was in house and didn't want to address the issue....the decision to never return is an easy one. I do not think this was a server issue but rather a kitchen and extremely poor management issue. Any manager/owner that does not care to address poor customer service issue on their watch should not be in the service industry. read more

This is like a local version of the olive garden but with a weird atmosphere. Overly salted, fast food quality italian food perfectly slated for some southern customers. I love my southern brethren!! But they do not understand italian food. The colors and flavors of their dishes rarely are on par with the specific dish. And some dishes seem like they ran out of tomatoes. A lot of people like it, so im not saying don't try it. But it is just sub-par italian food that isn't expensive but still more expensive than what you're paying for. read more
