Nicky's is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is terrific. The service is excellent. The best part is the value. Your dollar goes a long way at Nicky's. The place is nothing fancy, just a diner with a great small town feel. I go here at least twice a month for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. read more

Went to Nickys about 2:00 pm on a Sunday. The place was busy, but we lucked out. One both was open and we were promptly seated. I ordered the whole belly fried clams and the were some of the best clams I have had in a long time. The portion of clams were so big, I could not finish my side of fries. My wife had the fish and chips and said the fish was fantastic. This place is noisey at it is a family restaurant. Nicky's screams comfort food . Leave your teeth home and buckle in for soft foods such as seafood combos and meatloaf . Definitely an older crowd here . The regular and special menus were huge with a ton of selections and the pricing was excellent. Our waitress could not have been more friendly and full of smiles . The hostess wore a scowl which kind of sucked they should toss her as the clientele probably doesn't like that much. Oh yes they make their own blueberry and apple cake which rocks and they make their own hot fudge and have a good amount of ice cream flavors. read more

Folks... don't let the seafood sign on the front door deter you from entering this heavenly facility full of fluffy pancakes and savory omelettes. I have never seen such an ass backwards restaurant, specializing in completely opposite categories of cuisine like clam bellies, while also pumping out home fries smothered with chopped onions. However, this place is the REAL DEAL. My blueberry pancake acted as a sanctuary, swaddling me with its tender extremities. Also- they brought out the BIG guns with our server. We had a party of 9 and let me tell you our waitress was a seasoned vet- moving swiftly and efficiently through the premise. I cannot recommend this place enough- give it a try! read more

Been here a dozen times have never had a problem, Today we were seated wait staff kept ignoring us. Nobody came over to us. Wait staff kept walking by. Plenty of open seats and parking lot was empty. After 20 minutes we left, I told the hostess we were leaving because nobody came over. She answered with a snarky "Sorry"! Their service was horrible and the prime rib special was so tough you almost could not cut it. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I called and mumbled and the girl taking my order was so nice and apologized for MY mistake when I went there! How nice of her! She was very genuine. I ordered the fried fish and chips it was very good battered and fried. They gave me onion rings and fries and coleslaw! So good! After 30 years plus as a customer I went there the other day and without saying anything or telling me they stop refilling the soda I don't have a problem with that it's the fact that the lady asked me if I wanted another one gave it to me she's waiting on me hundreds of times and never said that she was going to charge me double six dollars for two fountain drinks is ridiculous I am no longer a customer there good luck!!!! read more

This is a True Local Gem, apparently they have been around for over 50 years and it is a Great Family Restaurant. Very Nice Daily Specials and Regular Menu that also serves Wine and Beer. The only thing worse than the food is the atmosphere. The chef wasn't wearing gloves, the servers were huddled behind the counter chatting and laughing for 10 minutes before anyone came over to serve our table, everything is completely outdated, and I wonder why the health department hasn't come out to take a look by now. The lettuce on my salad was browning and I got a stomach ache a few hours after eating here. This place has so much potential. It's a shame that the owners don't take any pride in their business. Nicky's has ruined the chance for me to eat fish and chips from any other restaurant. This food is amazing! The best haddock. The Cole slaw doesn't have a ton of mayonnaise so it's just right. The fries and the onion rings complemented them all. And to top it off, it came with hands down the best freaking clam chowder you will ever have. I kid you not. I give this place a negative 2 star. Mostly for owners attitude twards customers. If ur looking to have ur meal ruined by constant arguments with customers. The decore is straight out of 1970's dive diner. The only thing not from the 70' are the prices. Sub par quality and way overpriced for what you get. Greasy spoon is where it ranks. read more

We were starving and found this place to eat. Friendly staff and very helpful. The place is very dated but very clean. Parking out front in lot. We had a few seafood dishes and they were tasty. All our food was flavorful and fresh. (except for the canned peas) The prices are very reasonable and the portions just right. read more

Three stars for the ice cream. It's excellent and we'll priced! The restaurant however, could use a major clean up. Over the years it has become very dirty and even more outdated. I used to frequent here, until I saw one of the younger cooks do some unsanitary things while cooking (you can see into the kitchen if you sit at the breakfast bar- this was 2 years ago) I haven't had a meal there since. The staff is usually very friendly and attentive and I'd be happy to go back when the place has been cleaned up. It's a great location & has a big parking lot. I hope the owners consider a little overhaul. Wrentham desperately needs a good dining venue!! read more

Every Sat/Sun Greg and I go out to breakfast. If we are in Newport, it's an easy answer for where to go. However, if we are in Norfolk, there is always some debate because there isn't necessarily an "awesome" place near his house. Given the area, and other local resturaunts, Nicky's is definitely the best, but that is as far as I will go in saying it what it is the best at. I've tried a variety of their foods, and unfortunately, I haven't found that one great meal, the one meal that may make this 4 stars. Their bread is always super soggy, and is the exact kind served in my sorority ( come on... spend a little more on nicer bread, that was a college sorority). Their bacon is good, and I often get egg whites, but unless you like 1000 calories of cheese, make sure to only ask for minimal cheese. Also, I do not like home fries, (which the eggs come with), and they are always under my eggs, so I have to cut off the portion of the eggs that touch the home fries. I get the homefries still cus greg likes them, and he doesn't like me to ask for them on a seprate plate (that would solve my problem). It would be nice if they used bigger plates so this wouldn't happen. Their chocolate chip pancakes are good, but a little dry and definitely just from a box. The atmosphere is homey, you always see the waitresses there, and god bless if anyone ever goes there for dinner (not sure I would want to see what comes out for that). Overall, the staff is friendly, the place is clean, the atmosphere is comfortable (you would be overdressed if you were in jeans), and the food is just basic. However, we still tend to come here every weekend. read more

Nicky's is the spot where everyone in the tri-town area likes to meet up to have breakfast/brunch. Nicky's also serves milkshakes and ice cream which is convenient for the locals. Despite the homey-diner vibe that is great for my friends and I to hang out, I never really feel satisfied with the food. The food tastes average and there is a weird aftertaste when I ordered a milkshake. The waitresses aren't very attentive and not clear about needing to walk up to the register to pay. read more

My husband and I recently found this restaurant and we couldn't be happier with this breakfast spot! The food is yummy! I love the breakfast sandwiches and the blueberry pancakes. My husband loves the corn beef hash. Some mornings there is a little bit of a wait, but usually you don't have to wait to long. The staff is typically very friendly, but there is one waitress in particular who is a little cranky and doesn't seem to care about her customers. She is just going through the motions. Overall the staff is lovely. We haven't tried it yet for dinner, but the fish sandwich looks really good. read more

I have to write a new review. I was previously very disappointed in the quality of the food here. And stopped coming in. I Have come back a few times with my Mom who is 91 And lives in assisted living. She had come in with other seniors and raved about the food. Well I must say food has gotten 100% better. I heard they had a new cook and it shows The potions are better. And the seafood taste so much better. The owner has also been fixing up the place. My wife and I went here today for the first time and will definitely be back. She had clam chowder and I French onion soup. Both really excellent and much better than expected. We also had clam and fish dinner which was excellent and abundant and very good value. My only complaint is that it took longer than I would have expected for food to get to the table. Rude waitress but the worst part was my take out order sat for over 10 minutes before the server finally brought it to me. The food was COLD and we ending up throwing much of it out. Y'know in teenage movies how there's always that ONE restaurant that all the kids go to, like, all the time? That's Nicky's. I grew up in Wrentham and on a half day, the place to be for lunch was Nicky's. It's a very "local friendly" place and they know many people by name. Immediately when you walk in you see the ice cream bar, which sports very reasonably prices cones and to DIE for shakes. I don't know what's so special about them, but they are always A++. When I was a kid, I would take the $5 my mom gave me for washing the windows and go directly to Nicky's to buy a shake. There's a few tables and a bar with stools in this area is you want to sit inside to eat your ice cream, or there's some tables outside. The dining area is off to the left and is in dire need of a remodeling. I think it contributes to the small town feel and in my experience, small town restaurants are the best- a theory has been tested on the drive from Massachusetts to Montana and back. Several times. But don't be discouraged, the food is very good! Very-side-of-the-road-diner-esque. If you like onion rings, you won't be disappointed. They have a drink we used to call a lemon-line ricky, not really sure what it is but it was very good! It's my understanding now that this is usually some sort of cocktail? Our waitresses must have thought we were so cute. All the servers and EXTREMELY nice. Think the sweet old lady that gives out king sized candy bars on Halloween, then multiply that by ten.
