I have a regular tailor but he was on vacation when I needed a party dress to get hemmed so I tried this place out. The guy was nice but direct. He told me I was lucky that I could get the dress the following weekend as I only have him a few days. The place is similar to how other tailoring places are - clothes neatly hung and as clean as they could be. They did a great job with my dress and even advised me on how I should care for it because of the material. The price is slightly higher than my regular tailor but it was still fair considering it was like a rush request. Overall, I'm a satisfied customer and will recommend this place. My daughter's school uniform skirts needed to be hemmed. Nick's Tailor is close to my job, so I decided to try them out. It's a tiny business located on Manhattan Beach Blvd. The only parking is street metered parking, so make sure to bring some change. While entering, I was greeted by an older man. I think he's the owner. The place itself is basic, nothing fancy, which is fine. I gave him my skirts and was told they'll be ready in a week. That was fine; I wasn't in a hurry. As I was leaving, I saw a sign that said cash only. Luckily I saw it, or else I would have tried to pay with a card (I never have cash on me). But I feel that he should've mentioned it to me. He also didn't give me a price, I didn't ask either, but I feel usually, that's something you mention. When the week passed, I went to pick up the skirts. I remembered to bring cash! But, I was unsure how much to bring because he didn't tell me. Ugh! I thought maybe $30 would cover it ($15 for each). Well, I was way off! It cost $50! My hubby and I were like, wtf! Haha. My fault for not asking. But I feel that $50 is a bit crazy for just two basic skirts. So make sure you ask how much! Anyways, the skirts came out fine, and it seemed he did a good job. But I still feel like I was overcharged; maybe that's why he didn't tell me the price when I dropped off. If that's the case, that's not nice! This kind of left a bad taste in my mouth, and I am unsure if I'll come back. read more

I'm always protective over my denim -- it's hard to find a good pair of jeans! So when it came time to get a couple waists taken in and hems brought up, I saw all the great reviews for Nick's and brought them here. He could not have been nicer or done a more seamless job! I was so impressed. Additionally, I asked to pick up one pair 3 days early in hopes to wear them to an event over the weekend. He kindly agreed, and when I arrived, he surprised me with all my pairs completed early -- and beautifully, at that. With his alterations, it feels like I have a whole new closet of denim! Incredible work. A friend of mine had a ripped duvet cover, high end quality and I was nervous about having it repaired. Azam greeted me and knew just what to do - it was a large and awkward rip on delicate material, but he was confident he could fix it, and I trusted him. When I picked it up, not only had he repaired the giant L-shaped tear, but 2 small other holes. It looked perfect! You could hardly tell anything had happened to the duvet cover. They were able to complete the service within 24 hours but they charged me a heavy premium of $85 for hemming my pants and bringing in the arms of my suit.
