I came in recently to buy uniforms and EMT shoes for my son, and while the staff initially seemed eager to help, the experience quickly became uncomfortable and frustrating. The owner micromanages everything -- employees and even customers -- and paces around the store in a way that made us feel watched and unwelcome. It wasn't just about attentiveness; it felt erratic and unsettling. I don't know if he was under the influence or just overly paranoid, but the behavior was not normal or professional. Multiple reviewers have already mentioned how rude and intense the owner is, and I have to agree. The quality of the items sold here is poor -- most are cheap, low-quality imports that wouldn't meet the minimum safety standards required for EMT students. For example, the boots offered were priced at $80 but looked and felt like they'd fall apart under any real use. You could go to Shoeteria down the street on Artesia & Hawthorne and get actual safety-compliant footwear from brands like Dr. Martens, starting at similar or even lower prices. This place is profiting off students who are required to buy gear through a specific program or contract, and that's unacceptable. LA Uniform and Tailoring does not deserve the business of hardworking students trying to pursue a career in emergency medicine. I know they say the reason they treat their customers the way that they do is because the items they sell, I go to plenty of these types of stores and none of them have these rude tactics or policies except for this one... read more

Unfriendly atmosphere.. The owner was very rude to my wife. He kept accusing her of filming his store whenever she checked her email (I say you can film!!?! I'm not filming.. I say you can film!!?!). Also, I kept asking for a shirt and pants but he kept telling his worker not to get me a shirt because he didn't think I needed it?!? The pants I did buy were obviously Chinese sizes and so were the over priced shoes they sold. I suggest going to shoeterra and buy Doc Martins for the same price. This place also buzz people in which seems overkill for a place that sells uniforms. Go elsewhere!! The quality and service isn't any good. read more

If you like to be stalked while shopping, this is the store for you. This woman did not lose sight of me from the moment I stepped in. I came in here looking to possibly leave with some accessories for work and left empty handed because of this experience. I have never felt so uncomfortable and treated as a suspect for no apparent reason. Working in a customer oriented environment, social skills are required and this woman lacked it 100%. If I can relate this experience, it was just like the "hurry up & buy !" scene from Don't Be a Menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood". The WORST customer service! The only reason I'm buying from here is because it's required by the school.. The person there is the most arrogant person I've ever meet. They using covid to make bad excuses about no return policy. Had a pair of shoes that was not good enough for me, and I've never wear them, the next day I went there and they stold me that he will speak to the manager, I've waited over the weekend and came by again and he said they do not return because of covid. Do not buy from here, bad quality bad service, they are just a big scam so before you leave there messed store make sure you are 100% sure because of no return. I am enrolled in the EMT program at El Camino College. The syllabus recommended this shop. I was helped by Shakiba. She made some good recommendations for the uniform shirt. I suggest you check with your class first then buy what you need. They also have the required supplies of the stethoscope, blood pressure cuff and gloves. She and the staff are very friendly. The quality of the clothing and gear are top-notch. Their tailoring work is also very good. They cater to all of the local agencies as well as private security. read more

I just want to reiterate how please I am with the customer service that has been shown to me again! I purchased a couple of tact squad uniforms and shortly after that I've began to have issues with them. I recently reached out to the manufacturer of Tact Squad and expressed my dissatisfaction with their product . The Tact Squad representative advise to take the uniforms back to the location of purchase . To make a long story short , Even thou my problem is with the manufacturer of the uniforms I purchased, the owners of LA uniforms were very helpful and attentive and went above and beyond to help me deal with my situation . I said it before and I'll say it again , I definitely recommend LA uniforms to any or all law enforcement agencies !
