Picked up a Philly Cheesesteak Sub to go for dinner recently and have had a few other takeout orders from here in the past. For my most recent experience, I called in my order directly with Nicks and picked it up. The service was good and quick! Took them no time at all, and the sandwich was ready right in line with what they said to expect timing wise - they were actually bagging it up as I walked in! The staff were friendly and polite. The sub was great - warm, tasty, and as expected. For me, the large was big enough to split (with someone or in two sittings). Nicks is in a good, easy to get to location. They do have parking, but note that the lot is a little small and on the corner of a busy intersection/set of lights. Nick, Nick, Nick where did we go wrong. Ordered carry out from Nick's on a Sunday. We've ordered from here a couple two, three times and every one of those orders simply leaves more to be desired. It just could be so much more. Most recently ordered a large sub which was not dressed whatsoever and was a medium at any other sandwich spot. Asked for it toasted, and toasted, it was not. Second sandy was a sub that we requested to be in a wrap - when we went to pick it up we were scolded and told that we need to order a large sub if we want it in a wrap (now how would we know this?). We were also told that they do not have spinach wraps, again as if we should know. Don't most places call if they have questions on a request and not sass their customers? We're just trying to get chicken salad in a wrap. Chicken salad was nothing special and the wrap was constructed in a way where all of the toppings are hanging on one side of the road while the main honcho is on the other - it just doesn't work for the bites! Nicks' is great; I order from here about once a week Especially love, the Grecian Pizza, chicken salad, wrap, and chicken broccoli Alfredo pasta. Delicious. it's consistently good, quick; food is ready within the time they state which is 15 or 20 minutes typically And they are friendly, and the restaurant and open kitchen are very clean. It's your typical Greek style pizza joint. If you like Greek pizza, I'd guess you will be fine with it. I must say that greasy Greek pizza and dough aren't my cup of tea, so it was only fair for me. There was nothing about the pizza that would bring me back. However, if this is your cup of tea, maybe you'll be fine with it. People seem to really like their food, but it wasn't for me. read more

Very solid, very tasty traditional Roast Beeef Jr, Sauce and Cheese (no mayo) and a slice of Greek cheese pizza, hot and saucy/cheesy, tasted like it was right out of the oven, both 9/10. Fast service. read more

Had the pleasure of eating and reuniting with Nick's today. I say reuniting because I have not lived in Wakefield, MA for nearly nine years. During the time I lived in Wakefield Nick's Greek Salad was a regular staple for my diet when I was a bachelor. Then when I married my wife and I regularly ate there. We loved the food especially the way they grill the chicken. So when I found myself in Wakefield, MA today and Hungry I knew where to go! But with the pandemic and so many restaurants like Nick's not surviving I half expect to find Nick's was no more. I was relieved to find they are open with the same great family running operations. Will never order from here again. Ordered a 2 way pizza (and paid for 2) to be delivered. Was told 30-40 minutes-5 minutes late was not problem at all. It was the pizza all the way. I should have know pizza would be cold when the box was already cold to the touch-not warm-cold. I think they kept the pizza in the car while making other pizzas or we were the last delivery after a lot before us. Pizza stone cold - 1 way not green pepper as ordered. I called to let them know about the problem. They did offer to send a correct pizza in about 20 minutes. Told lady that we would just keep what we had as my husband gets up about 3:30-4:00 am for work and did not have time to wait for a new pizza. Lady insisted they needed to pick up the wrong pizza "to figure out' what was wrong. She just kept agrguing with me. SO....if you want a hot pizza delivered with toppings you ordered and paid for go ANYWHERE else. I couldn't score lower than the one or I would have. read more

Very nice, family run, top notch pizza and sub shop! The salads and club sandwiches here are great. I have had the Tuna Club, Steak Tip Salad and Buffalo Chick Salad and they were all great sized portions and cooked perfectly. Their menu also has a lot of healthy wraps/sandwiches and the salads are very large, so it's a perfect spot to hit right after a work out at Mike's Gym right around the corner. Also, they deliver, and they do so on time and the food is still hot if it should be hot, or still in tact if it should be in tact :) What is nice is, the two latest times we ordered delivery, it was during the Bruins Stanley Cup Playoff games, so despite the night probably being a busy one for groups ordering out, it still came right on time no problem. read more

Absolutely no complaints about the service and meal from Nick's! I've been trying to get deliver or take-out from local businesses during this time and realized I hadn't gotten anything from Nick's in awhile. They have a great menu with a lot of different choices including some items you won't always see from a sub and pizza place so I encourage you to take a look at what they offer! The prices are good, and well the quality is amazing. Freshest and most flavorful lemon chicken soup I've ever had. I was again tempted to order two bowls as it's that good. I also ordered their chicken salad on a wrap. You can order additional items free of charge so I ordered pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. I've previously gotten it on the bread but the wrap was equally as tasty and less messy. They will also toast the bread upon request. Both items were great and filling. The prices are more than fair for the quality and quantity. They even did contact less delivery - I waved at the delivery man as he left after he left it inside of my screen door. And what I love (but some might not) is they come much faster than the estimated delivery time. So, I'd call to make sure if you don't want it delivered earlier - I love that aspect but could see how others might not. I can say without a doubt best soup and sandwich in my area! read more

We picked up two subs - eggplant Parmesan and steak and cheese. These were probably two of the worst low quality subs I've ever had. The eggplant was barely edible and the break was soggy and they forgot to put cheese on it. I could barely eat it and ended up throwing most of it away. Came here on a Monday night. Online ordering through their website was easy and fulfilled accurately when we asked for sauces on the side, etc. My order was ready for pickup right on time, 15 mins later just as the website indicated upon confirmation of my order. Mozzarella sticks were hot and gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside. Marinara sauce was surprisingly good! Buffalo chicken wrap was very solid. Plenty of chicken, just the right amount of sauce, lettuce and tomato. Still warm when I got home. Roast beef on a fresh onion roll with lettuce, tomato and American cheese was also very solid. The "super" was large but not massive. For the price ($25) and location, it's exactly what I was looking for. Very tasty and timely. We've been here twice in the past month, and it's really great so far. Both times it's been a large cheesesteak calzone. The large is a great deal and is definitely huge. I've been there three times already, and so far so good. Whenever I've gone there I've consistently gotten delicious food, and the employees who've waited on me are always super polite. People are always saying that they don't give a shit if they're treated nice as long as the food is worth it - well they both go hand in hand, and you'll find it here. I love that they use red onions in their subs, and that the pizza is always fresh. The parking situation down there is a little trying, but it's at a weird corner of Main and Nahant St. and if you live in Wakefield one can know how cramped businesses can be with the lots. Used to love this place because they have great food, but our order has gotten screwed up the last 4 times (literally) that we have ordered delivery. We said over and over that we weren't going back, but kept giving in because the food was good! This final time -- they forgot our large fry and when we called they said we didn't order it. We had them bring the fries (and salad dressing/ pita bread they forgot for my salad) as well as the original receipt which showed that we had ordered and were charged for the large fry that they said we hadn't ordered! This was not the first time that we were told we hadn't ordered something when our order was screwed up. If you get delivery, make sure you check your receipt! read more

I don't like reviewing places or leaving bad reviews in general but since this is during COVID-19 I feel the need to share. Unfortunately all of the cooks and one woman at the front were all wearing masks under their nose which is not the effective way to wear a mask. I hope the owner can do some training on the correct way to wear a mask in order for it to be effective. I have been ordering my wing ding dinner plate at Nicks for over 10 years and it's always been good. But this time, not sure what's going on! It is tremendously terrible. Not sure why the wrap the wings with foil, the fries are soggy and the onion ring batter are completely fallen apart. The salad is the worst. Yellowish green pepper and mostly are lettuce. The subs are good, and the staff is nice and friendly. The steak tips are pretty good too. Hence the 4 stars. BUT THE PIZZA IS GREEK PIZZA. I scoured every single review here and even went so far as to ask them if their pizza was Greek- they didn't seem to understand the question. As far as Greek Pizza goes, this is probably the best there is. That means the pizza gets about 1.5 star from me. If you like Greek pizza, this is your place- but seek counseling, ASAP. After I ordered Nick's, I didn't think I was going to really like it. But I was wrong. I ordered a cheese and peperoni meatball pizza. It didn't take that long either. The pizza feels like it just came out of the oven. The cheese has a little bit of a crunch. The best part about the pizza is the crust. It's so crunchy and buttery. It's like Prince's crust, that's how I like my crusts. The sub I suggest you try is the chicken kabob sub. The roast beef isn't all that bad either.
