I was upset that my credit was charged twice when I bought a pizza. I didn't know who was to blame. I bad mouthed Pizza World and the credit card company. Eventually (4 days later) the credit card company fixed the mistake that they caused. Dennis at Pizza World tried to help, but it was David and Goliath. I usually love this place and have ordered from them plenty of time. I ordered a sausage pizza and a spinach calzone. The pizza was great but the calzone was terrible. It was all cheese and no spinach. This happened before but I thought I would give them another try. It was a failed attempt. No more calzone from this place. read more

Look it, this is decent Greek pizza. Probably would give this a 3.5 or 3.75. Ordered mozzarella sticks and pizza. Both were very crisp and crunchy without being burnt. The sauce is good and a bit on the sweet side. Overall good but I prefer Italian style pizza, not their fault I know, but still can only base this on my subject taste. read more

Hands down best salads anywhere in the area. Most places just slap a salad together and take no pride in it. This place puts as much effort into their salads as they do anything else. A frequent lunch stop for me. I usually pop in for a slice or two, sometimes a sub or sandwhich. This is a greek style pizza joint, with greesy pizza on a slightly crunchy crust, just the way I like it. This is no gourmet food. Service is good and friendly. They always have slices ready, and heat them for you. The subs are not as good as other area stops, so I'd stick with the pizza. They have a few Heralds sitting around to read, and a TV in the dining area, although it's usually on Fox News. I guess they lean to the right in the old country. We tried Pizza World recently and came away disappointed. This pizza is Greek style, and I am a huge fan of that flavor normally. The issue was not the Greek approach but the fact that the pizza was overdone, and the crust was actually blackened around the outer ridge of the pizza. My husband grew up in Reading and has raved about this place. The food is good - love the chicken kabob. What I have noticed that really bugs me time and time again is the absent thank you. I order ahead and always get a "please hold" and an immediate placement on hold - what if i didn't want to hold (LOL). I guess I can forgive that - they do seem to be busy, but the last three times I have called in my order they repeat the order to me and say "is that all" ... "15 minutes". Then hang up. No - thank you, no good bye, nothing. Just a hang up. Then when picking it up - no one has ever thanked me. With money being as tight as it is and the optons out there - I guess I just figured the "home town local guy" would stand apart from the chains on customer service. read more

Dear Pizza World, Guess what? Some people in the world don't eat meat. So, they order things off of menus that don't have meat in them like an eggplant sub or a Greek salad. Then they wonder why you might put meat sauce on an eggplant sub or ham of all things on a Greek salad. And when they call to ask you (because they got take-out and didn't look at their food before they left) they don't appreciate the answer "Oh, we've done it that way for 30 years" as though that is some sort of real explanation. If you're going to put meat on something that's generally vegetarian, put it on your #$%%^ menu, please. But don't do it for me, because I won't be back. (Twice burned is enough for me.) read more

A house divided. My husband gives this place a hands down 5 star. He loves the pizza. Me, its a bit sweet and I don't care for the 'greek style' crust with a bit too much crunch. Reminds me of stale bread. Got subs here a few times, really light on the stuffing so order larges especially if your getting steak and cheese. The staff are great though and they really are a community business so yeah for my husband and hopefully a few more morsels of meat will hit the sub roll next time. read more

Great pizza, esp their buffalo chicken pizza. Delivery is fast and friendly. I usually make my girlfriend call to order so I don't know how they are over the phone but she's never complained. Overall, we are very happy with Pizza World and we're pretty picky about our pizza and fry selections. Being from the NY/NJ I am very picky about my pizza preferences. I gave this place a try since on their take-out menu they said voted best pizza. I knew I wasn't going to like it when I picked it up and noticed that they were taking the pizza out of the oven in pans. The crust was too thin and crisy and the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. This is a great Greek style pizza joint. For all the reviewers on here who seem to prefer Italian style pizza, I don't know why they would go to a Greek place. This place has great chicken and steak kabob salads too. I eat here about once a week and I have found the service to be second to none. From what I have seen the kitchen is exceptionally clean with the employees changing their gloves very often and no built up grease like you see at some places. I was a long time Pizza World fan, but over the past year the quality of their food has really declined. I like their pizza sauce, but I can finish a whole large cheese pizza by myself (I'm 5' 10" and weigh 168 lbs). I'm not sure what they've changed but you just shouldn't be able to eat a large cheese by yourself. I prefer Town Pizza up the street even though their pizzas cost slightly more because you get more pizza for your money (I cannot eat a large cheese from Town Pizza by myself, one large feeds 2-4 people). Parking is also tough at Pizza World and I agree with the other reviewer Jim O. their subs are not good at all. read more

What can I say about Pizza World? It is part of the family tradition. We have been eating there essentially since they opened there doors! We can feed the family and make everyone happy! Up until now this was my favorite place to get a grilled chicken kabob salad from in Reading. Not anymore. We ordered take out last night and I found a small light colored hair in my salad which I overlooked as I had eaten half of it already. I took the other half for lunch today. I just threw it out. Pizza world is consistently one of the best pizza spots in the Reading area. Their pizza, salads and subs are always excellent. The Gold Fever sub is the hidden gem of the sub menus. The Chicken Kabob Salad is one of the best you'll ever find. They're French fries and buffalo chicken pizza are great too. The one item I would stay away from is the calzone. They don't grill the vegetables inside the calzone which makes it taste odd. Other than that, explore the menu and you won't be disappointed! I also would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention the workers. From the owner all the way down to the delivery people, everyone goes out of their way to be extremely friendly, polite and accommodating. read more
