Had lunch here a few days ago. My husband and I ordered the chicken wrap with a lemonade and ice tea. Awful is an understatement. The wrap was all lettuce, next to no chicken and no seasoning. The fries were good. Lemonade, we had to send it back and the useless waitress gave us a bottled lemonade. Ice tea was no better. The waitress useless! Checked on us when we were done. Reluctantly changed the lemonade. If she had a brain she wouldn't have served it. Lunch was over 40.00$ !!! Not worth it. Not recommending this place. read more

Service: Great. Food: Terrible. Ambiance: Lighting is overly harsh. Change your bulbs please. I think this is one of Reading's only restaurants that have been able to survive, so they have a following. But the food is terrible. You might go there to meet up with friends but don't expect any classic Italian dishes. Our wedding soup was cold with large chunks of barely cooked spinach, and our "bruschetta" consisted of congealed cheese and one tomato on an enormous soft piece of sesame seed bread. Visited Cafe Capri for family birthday party! I haven't been to Cafe Capri in a long, long time. I would say close to 20 years. I have always been a fan just not geographically close as I use to be. We had a party of 9. We got there a different times so we started with some drinks and waited to order when everyone arrived. It was dinner time so it was a busy time....lots of peoople in and out picking up orders to go. They were hopping around the bar and all the tv's had games on, including the preview of the MNF game. Certainly a good vibe. We ordered 4 pizzas (2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, a chicken finger dinner and a caesar salad) all of the food came out at the same time, which is always nice. The food was hot and looked great....see pics! We all were very pleased with the food as it was devoured with one slice of pizza left! The service was great...although she was up against it with a table of 9 plus, I am sure, other tables! We all left pleased and full...which is always a good thing! 5 stars and I will be back before I left another 20 years slide by! PS: Plenty of parking....price was great! read more

We finally called for take out and the girl answering the phone was so rude - saying that chix cacciatori was chinese? The server was super helpful in recommending toppings - I went with ricotta and spinach. Yummy! I am not generally a fan of gf pizza but when you're on the road for work, take what you can get. Hope work takes me near Cafe Capri again. I'll be having leftovers for breakfast in my hotel room. And the server? Welcoming, friendly, had great input on the menu. I've been eating Capri cheese pizza (with a side of house dressing) for years, decades, maybe, now? And it's always hit the spot for me and anyone I've introduced to it. I'm also a huge fan of their Greek salad- it's a good ratio, and makes for a good dinner on a warm evening. I've only recently eaten in at the restaurant, which didn't disappoint at all. They had a wide variety of drinks (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) and we had very prompt service. My husband really likes their steak and cheese subs too. Definitely keeping Capri in rotation at our house for as long as possible. read more

Cafe Capri is a solid choice for pizza in Reading. Having lived here twice and a spouse who is a native to the area, there is no other pizza option for us. The recent renovations on the restaurant have added a bar to the back of the restaurant moving it from the front where it was, and spruced up the inside. The pizza has always been fabulous- we stay with the traditional large cheese or extra cheese pepperoni or plain cheese pizzas. A nice thick puffy crust and deliciously cooked dough that carries the sauce and cheese don't tend to flop too much and are delicious. Watch out for the extra cheese- make sure it cools first your all of your cheese will slide off the end (take it from one who knows) making for a delicious cheese sauce pile but not on the dough like you wanted. This is because when you ask for extra- Capri complies and puts a ton of cheese on the pie (it's fantastic). Definitely a place to stop if you haven't been there before or are curious. It will always remain my family's go-to! read more

The pizza is fine, not the best I've ever had and far from the worst. The cheese and sauce are decent, the dough is alright. Pretty expensive pizzas compared to some of the other local shops. The pizza is excellent. Other food on the menu is average at best. But - and here is my big problem with this place - they have jacked up the prices insanely high. My wife and I went there, got one pizza and 2 "martinis" each and it was close to a hundred bucks. they charged somewhere north of $25 for the pizza with just a few toppings and $16 for each of the four drinks. Ever since I was a child, I have always enjoyed coming to Capri. The food and service are excellent. (The pizza is hands down the best around. House dressing is what dreams are made of.) The owners are wonderful, too! The main dining room has recently been renovated and featured a gorgeous new horseshoe shaped bar, and there's a view of the game on TV no matter where you sit! Capri has a lovely family feel and has something for everyone on the menu, be it a healthy salad, loaded calzone, seafood dish, BBQ or an old school Italian favorite. What I especially love is that the food is consistently delicious whether you dine in, take out, or have need for catering! Their food is always top notch. They have REAL ITALIAN PIZZA And their salads are phenomenal and their chicken wings are phenomenal. They make one of the best Seabreeze drinks I've ever had. If you go to there by you will see everybody there with a "pink" drink in front of them always very personable. 3rd time around, Café Capri failed. We ordered a Margarita pizza, and this is what we got. Basically, a cheese pizza with basil on top. We called to let them know about the order and manager/owner, Michael, got on the phone, and we had to go over many times what a Margarita should be like. He said I'll send you another pizza; we denied. What we really wanted to let him know is that his staff should be corrected to make it properly. I feel Capri or Michael have no clue how customer service business should be run in a restaurant. 2nd time I ordered, they gave my order to another person that had my first name. I showed up, and they told me the situation. They (Michael) offered me a beer while I waited for them to make my order. Meanwhile, I see the hostess calling the person that gave my order offering to replace their order at no change. I stood there for 20 mins while they made my order only offering me a beer that only costs them $1.00 out of pocket. Piss poor service, IMO! Just to let you know, this was Pre COVID. read more

I've eaten here many times, but mostly for table service at night and had good experiences. Today I decided to order two slices of cheese pizza for takeout lunch. I called ahead as to not be waiting around, and was surprised to be told it would be 20 mins for two slices at lunch. When I got there 20 mins later, the woman on the counter finished up with the customer ahead of me then took a call for an order of many items totaling over $100, so it took a while. It was finally my turn - I paid and was handed my box. I asked for a plastic knife, snd she didn't seem to like it. She said "just a minute" and took the order of the man behind me then got his order and handed it to him then handed me my knife. She was rude and unwelcoming and the pizza was cold and dried up. I threw most of it away. A total rip off for $6. Won't be going there again. read more

Just passing through Route 28 and I didn't want to eat McDonald's, Burger King or Dunkin Donuts. I opted for a chicken wrap with a side of pasta salad. I walked in an there was NO one there during lunch time. Absolutely dead quiet. But, I thought to give it a try, anyway. Lady came up to the counter after a minute or so. My chicken wrap was done in 8 minutes. I was quoted 2. But, I'm sure that was just an exaggeration. Lady was nice, but don't expect anything above and beyond. As for the taste test: it's purely bland. There is no flavor or depth to this at all. Sorry guys, I don't want to knock you down. This place looks really cool and fancy on the inside. I would hate for this place to fail sometime in the near future. I wish this place could be on Restaurant Impossible. This place needs help is all that I'm saying. read more

The food is average. The environment is slightly below average and the customer service is awful. Italian style greasy pizza (not in a negative way - it's yummy) and decent but not great chicken wings. The wait can be ridiculous. And they are very unapologetic. Last time I was there I waited an additional 20 minutes because my first pizza was burnt only to come home and find the second one black on the bottom. Not ok. And they only offered me a credit towards a future pizza for the same amount in exchange. We ordered takeout here the other night and it was excellent: the Caprilicious pizza, bruschetta, and a large garden salad to share. The pizza was delectable, it doesn't come with tomato sauce but instead olive oil and two different kinds of cheeses, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, sausage and chicken. Nice flavors, and a good amount of cheese and toppings! The bruschetta was good too, except it wasn't technically bruschetta. It was french bread with cheese and diced tomatoes, and didn't have a marinade or balsamic dressing on top or anything like that. It was still tasty though. The garden salad was pretty much standard sub shop fare, nothing in particular stood out but the ingredients were fresh. We also had a coupon from the menu which was helpful, we saved about $5 on our $25 order. It's a nice place and I'll definitely be back! read more

I think I was there the night the salty wine lady was there. She sent her glass back three times insisting her wine was too salty. The bartender even opened up a new bottle for her but that wasn't good enough. I think that lady's taste buds are off. Pizza here is delicious. We have it as least once a week. Everything we've had a Capri has been great. Their marinara sauce is some of the best I've ever had. Their chipotle panini is a delight as well! We always sit at the bar when we go. Tracy is a wonderful bartender who makes delicious drinks. From Monday - Thursday, I believe it is from 4-8 they have half price appetizers at the bar, which is a great deal. Mozzarella sticks for like 4 bucks, unheard of! They give you about 10 too. I am a huge fan and will continue to go. You should check it out too. read more
