Just moved here as part of the great exodus, and all I can say is: SUCK IT, CALIFORNIA! The food here is every bit as good or even better than SoCal. Fresh baby spinach and romaine as the base of my Greek salad, complete with REAL greek olives, feta, and dressing (on the side...I didn't even have to ask), and lamb gyro meat (choice of this or grilled chicken). Truly delicious. I paired this with a creamy Greek lemon chicken and rice soup, tangy with a touch of mint, served with pan-toasted and seasoned pita (do I detect cumin?)...everything was extremely tasty. Hubby had a fresh, hand-formed, high-quality, thick beef patty classic cheeseburger, which I was barely able to take a photo of because he was scarfing it down so fast. Hidden Gem. Is this place in a Motel 6? Yes Does it look a bit "murdery" from the outside? Also yes. That being said, this place is awesome. They are right off of I-65 and have a surprising array of different food types. We had, wraps, sandwiches, soup and a quesadilla. Everything was cooked very well and the staff is super friendly. Stop by on our way from Birmingham to Nashville. This place is very convenient to the highway, so you don't miss a beat. However it's connected to a motel which kinda had us confused a bit and wondering should we go in. Traveling home to Nashville on North I 65. looked at yelp to see what was close, great ratings showed up on this place which is just off the interstate! Did not disappoint! Great food and a great experience! We were traveling and it was time for lunch. We like to eat at local spots so decided to give Nick's a try. We were blown away! They were patient, explaining our options, and worked with us on our food sensitivities, making sure what we ordered would work. First time to Nick's; decided to try after friends raved! We are raving right along with them!!! My son ordered the Frank-E-melt with fries, and I ordered Nick's Triple Cheese Philly with onion rings. We both had the fruit tea. It's a funky little building in front of the Motel 6, but has a cute vibe. It was hopping for a Sunday night, but we were greeted with a friendly hello, and order taking was fast and efficient. They offer a plethora of unique sauces for the taking, without any stingy up charge. The food came out in a timely manner, and it was delicious! We split, so we could both taste each other's items. His fries were hot, crispy on the outside with a fluffy middle, and the burger... ooey gooey deliciousness. The bun was outstanding, and the spicy sauce had a nice kick. My Philly was different than usual, but oh so tasty. And the beer battered onion rings were to die for- light, crispy batter, with real onion inside. We found this gem off the 14 exit of the interstate 65 on our way to Pulaski. We tried the amazing Ruben, which was true to its name. Traveling to Nashville from Alabama we found this place on Yelp. We almost drove off because of the outside but decided to go in. It was the right choice. The food we ordered was the Southwest burger, Frank-E-Melt, and a Quesadilla for our little guy. The food we chose tasted fresh and well cooked. The flavor was pretty good. There are so many other great sounding things to try and it was good enough that I want to try more. The atmosphere was great and we got recommendations from people in line. Great spot for locals or travelers up and down I-65 wanting something other than fast food drive thru. Had the triple cheese cheesesteak and twisted fries. Also had chicken fingers and regular fries. OK so right off the interstate you're looking for this place (if you don't know where it is) and you're directed by a sign into what looks like a Motel? Well it is a motel. And then you may think "oh can this really be a good place in a motel?" Well it is. It is better than you expect, I guarantee it. And if it's not? If you are in or near Pulaski, this is the restaurant you need to stop in to grab something to eat. Everything was fresh and delicious! Our 3 boys were raving about how good everything was, and it is very hard to impress 3 little boys with food. We ordered the Greek salad, bowl of chili, Philly cheesesteak, mini quesadillas with chicken and order without chicken, as well as the grilled cheese. Everyone left satisfied and trying to figure out when we will drive by Nick's again in the future. I want to try their street tacos next, and my husband wants to try the gyro we saw at a table nearby that looked huge & delicious! Also, the service was amazing. This was an amazing Yelp find!! We were on our way back from NOLA and were starting to get hungry. The driver suggested waiting til we got across the TN state line to grab lunch so I started looking immediately for options to eat that had healthier options than what we ate all week in NOLA but would appeal to meat eaters as well. We also didn't want to get too far off route to eat and this place popped up on the map. It doesn't look like much from the outside as it is actually in the hotel there but once in the door, the bright green walls liven up the place. It's pristinely clean and the locals rave about it as 3 regulars asked if we had been before (within our first 10 minutes) and when we answered they told us about how often they come and how much they love the place. The menus are at the same counter where you place your order, once placed they will give you a number and you make your way to any table in the restaurant. It's a small place and on this day there was a large family and then 2 other 4tops so it was a little loud but with the football game on in the background it felt like a hotel bar and lounge. 2 things to note, 1) when paying at the counter you have the option to tip - those tips go to a local charity which per the worker rotate often to spread the wealth. You don't have to tip on your card, there is also a plastic box to the side for cash with the local charity of choice 2)there is a condiment bar with extra napkins, plastic utensils and a variety of oddball sauces that are quite delicious. The yelp reviews raved about the jalapeno ranch and while it was good the bourbon sauce stole the show for me because it was sweet, had good a good smoky flavor and just a hint of bourbon taste. I ordered the California burger with twisty fries, the hubs ordered the triple cheese philly with waffle fries and the others at the table ordered the Reuben sandwich and the Bradshaw burger. When you order an entree and side the drink is free. Shortly after getting our drinks the food came out. My vegetarian burger was one of the best that I have ever had, great flavor, the bun complimented the burger vs competed and more importantly it held up which is huge for a veggie burger. Most veggie burgers smoosh or fall apart upon the first bite but the outside had a great crunch while the inside was nice and smooth. I would definitely order this again if given the opportunity. Everyone at the table cleaned their baskets and raved about how it was a great Yelp find. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone traveling on 65 and passing through the area. Been wanting to try Nick's as my daughter and grandsons go there often. I was visiting so took the boys. He hamburgers and onion wings were great! As good as any I've had in Mexico. Three big tacos with lots of meat and great flavor. We also tried the Chicken Gyro which was also excellent, as authentic as chicken gyro can be. The potatoes we ordered were nothing special. The place is very clean and has a few tables to sit at. They have a sauce bar that has several sauces the owner made himself.
